    Latent Point Calculator

Calculator is not the right word, but I can't think of a better word. I apologize.

There are many weapons out there that require you to "break," "clean," "verb you use that's server specific...like clean," latent weapons. The majority of these mostly fall under trial weapons, base mythic weapons, and KS30 weapons. To break the latent, you need to accumulate an amount of points, depending on the type of weapon, and in the Nyzul weapon's case, floor save.

My suggestion for today is to give us some kind of NPC to let us know where we stand on this.

I severely doubt that I'm the only person who can't keep count, and makes mistakes like thinking L1 skillchains are L2 and vice versa.

Now I know what you're thinking.

"Quit telling SE to waste time on something stupid like this! They have enough issues with coding crap and we get stuff like 99,999 damage Cure spells to undead mobs!"

The code for an NPC to tell you how close you are to breaking a weapon is already in the game. He has some magical way of knowing how close you are. My guess is that the data is stored on the weapon itself. So why not let us get hints on other weapons? The regular trial weapons would be nice, maybe trade them back to the questgiver and they'll give you a hint on how close you are.

    Also, damn Chaosbringer.

That is all. Thank you for your time.

Oh, I like that suggestion! I think it may also be possible to tell you your current standing at a real time rather than an NPC, like with the progress standing for FOV/GOV/OPS whenever a specified target has been defeated. Either of those would do great rather than having to manually write down and calculate how many targets were killed to know whether the weapon broke its latent or if enough kills were made to blood up the chaosbringer.

Not a sanctioned response, and won't do anything for the console crowd, but Apnea has an application called LatentChecker that will do this for you. Older versions of it broke a couple years ago, but the newer versions have been working for a while now as far as I know.

Just a note for PC players who are stumped on this.

Side note: Yes, WS points are stored on the weapon itself.

This is not something that most people are agienst. In fact its already in the game on ToM weapons so why shouldn't the other weapons have it. At the very least a NPC like you put out there. NPC might even be better to put in since nysul weapons change if you go up in floors.

I knew of LatentChecker (I actually avoided using that word in my original post because I knew of it.) but I had heard it hadn't been working for ages.

That, and the third party program thing. Even if it doesn't do anything other than read a number that's client side. =x
