    Is there a way to access this if i dont know it or have never used it before?

    If all you want to do is remove the pop-up icons ingame (annoying) all you have to do is go into playonline and "change" your pol password to the same. Next time you log in you will no longer have mail icons. You need to do this on any computer where you play the char. Another solution is to log your char on another computer.

    You can ask a GM to reset your password I think. A friend of mine did that.
