7kb/s downloading information
4.2kb/s sending information
That would be the most ffxi would require at any given time.
2GB is a fair amount, but you're not going to be able to play for hours on end all month long.
I've had no success setting up my laptop through a tethered connection this way. As best I can tell there might be an issue with my service provider hiding my IP for my phone behind a firewall. I've read information on the internet that this might be the issue. I've had success playing other online games with a tethered connection but Playonline loads but then lags horridly getting the red screen of lag when this happens.
This past week, I was a passenger in a twelve-hour two-way road trip. I tethered my laptop to my 4G Galaxy Nexus and played FFXI. As long as I had reception (we drove through quite a few dead zones), playback was flawless.
So I'm gathering from the posts here that nobody else is experiencing this issue or found a solution to deal with it. I'm guessing everyone else's tethered connection just works fine like mine does for Steam and other online games. I have a 6GB LTE plan so speed and data are not at all an issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
