Upcoming expansions/future plans?

People are still kinda shakey on the future of FFXI, Square don't give interviews anymore in regard FFXI and there are very few long term announcements to get excited about.

Is there any chance Square can start throwing out some future plans they have for FFXI? Something like if there are any plans to release a proper full expansion (yes please) or even more mini aby type expansions are planned.

Give us something to look forward too, don't have to tell use everything but XI players really do need stuff to look forward to aside from level 99.

I don't know but if they don't give/announce something major(new jobs, zones somehow) mid-year might be time to suspend ID. Abyssea's content is drying up. They can't ride this game on equipment additions forever...

When they do get around to adding new areas it would be great if they were new areas. Not Saruta Baruta [Q] or something. Re-using areas for WotG was understandable but for Abyssea it was just annoying from a design perspective.

Add-on Scenarios tested payment for digital distribution, Abyssea tested large content via digital distribution (and is actually considered an expansion). I think it's definitely time for another full blown (retail quality) expansion pack to take us up to level 99.

I'd like a new continent with very large cities, a new story and several more jobs.

I also think a huge underwater city/areas would be cool with some neat magic flow dome enclosure instead of a bubble. I like water.

There's not going to be any more expansion discs. Any purchased new content will likely be in the add-on format.
