Coming back as a DRK

so i'm coming back to the game after a 4 year break. i quit right before aht'urghan, what's changed? I heard about grips. but are there any other huge changes? are we still just stun bunnies for HNM's?

Basically inside Abyssea DRK sux for DMG but is good for Triggering some pple will say WAR can cover 1 more red than DRK but honestly in large groups it doesn't matter.

In abyssea DMG wise DRK sux in comparison to over DDs because they all have access to crit WS except SAM but SAM wins cause fudos strong STR combined with the large STR atmas and STR boost combined with there higher ws freq That being said we do enough DMG to kill anything it's jusr slower

Souleater has been trumped by crits
Lastresort has been trumped by sekkioni + 2 crit WS

Outside abyssea which noone does DRK can compete the only job that really can't compete with is WAR cause Ukkos is broken on that job but the rest it's close and more sititional than anything. Also from parsing Torcleaver came out as the second strongest WS because i guess DRKs abilty to cap pdif+the high ftp mod on it.

In summary
In abyssea
DMG wise : WAR MNK DRG SAM NIN COR RNG and prolly DNC > DRK (it sux)
Outside : WAR > * then its more sititational

Either way i still play DRK and it's still fun for me and my linkshell is still happy i play the job so w/e it still works but SE need to fix the job (i say Fix because of the JUNK we have gotten)

By junk i mean now as DRK u can expend ur entire mp pool to get 100tp if ya lucky with occult acumen.
Also now if you parry ur tp gain is massively increased by 1.

What's the best sub for drk at 90? Sam?

No they havn't even started on DRK they have given us some useless and some marginal things while acully focusing on other jobs.

Btw SAM is kinda suffering the same way DRK is atm it's MNK WAR WHM NIN BLU BLM that are the kings

best subs are sititational either way it ranges from /NIN /SAM and /THF maybe /MNK for counterstance if ya had to choose one then /SAM covers DMG and some tanking

SAM is hardly bad, outside of Abyssea Fudo SAM is still the reigning DD champion. The game seems to be moving in a different direction away from Abyssea, and this is a change I welcome.

If you want to be accepted inside Abyssea, SAM is also a bad idea. also As pointed out by the guy above me, In order for it to be good outside abyssea you need Tachi: Fudo.

If you want a good Inside and Outside Abyssea job, Level THF ! We're useful to everyone who wants to not spend 8 years at an event with no drop.

You love picking bad jobs huh :X I would forget PLD like, period, For now. Likely it'll get more appealing later but right now know. I won't go into more detail as i don't wanna invite The wrath of the white knights.

WAR is a great choice though, Inside and outside of Abyssea. Its powerful, and needed.

Outside abyssea i can beat SAMs but i can't beat Ukko WARs which is what i base my opinion on

Also because theres no attack bonus for Fudo in cases where u need a decent amount of attack to cap pDif Torcleaver does more DMG.

I'm not saying DRK is better all i'm saying is DRK and SAM are close.
