There's a feature called /yell that you can use to reach people. Stand in any part of Jeuno, Aht Urghan Whitegate, East or West Adoulin, or the Chocobo Circuit, and you can /yell and hear /yells from anyone in the other zones. It's the primary way of gathering people for group stuff.
Go do some /yells and that should help you get a linkshell and reacclimate.
