Not so Geomancerrific

I've had my Trial Wand sitting in my storage for a while now and finally decided to unlock the Exudiation weaponskill. After performing countless skill chains with Ayame, the darn thing still isn't unlocked. I decided to go back to Nihili Uvolep to try to trade her the thing back just in case but she just says, "Lhaiso has rrreturned to us! Your brrravery has truly touched us all. The entire order owes you a debt of gratitude." Come to find out, Geomancerrific quest isn't even in my current or completed quest log. So now I don't know what to do. Any suggestions or feedback?
