Why is WHM Job so famous and expensive now?

Hi guys, i am really wondering myself, WHY the spells and gear from whm is so expensive now? spells which were sold for 10k are at 800k now thats crazy ... any idea?

White Mage get Cure 5/6, which makes them the only worthwhile healer in Abyssea. All the WHM specific stuff went up in price dramatically. Check out Cure Clogs, too.

WHM became a very hot job after the release of Abyssea. The price on WHM gear and spells skyrocketed because so many people recently leveled the job on their main characters and/or mules.

Some spells, like Raise3, increased in price because players, these days, are not killing the NMs or doing as many of the BCNMs/ENMs that drop the scroll and there's an increased demand for it.

Invisible is still 40k on Lakshmi, which I find hilarious. It's not just whm, blm's ancient magic and ga III spells are 300kish. It's a combination of the popularity of the job, the lack of supply, and the inflation of gil from abyssea.

I see a lot of dual boxed whms around. Players who want to solo stuff with multiple toons probably don't mind paying extra gil to get spells. Don't even worry about raise 3 if you're new to the job, it's way too expensive to justify saving someone 1,500 experience points.

Some of BLM's spells have always been relatively expensive, but yeah, the demand has definitely gone up as BLMs new and old filled out their spell lists for grellow!! triggers and AoE nuking.

Or, you know, do E-vase-ive Action KS30.

I solo'd it easy as SMN90. Got Raise III in 4 tries. Also got 1m gil from various other drops and rewards.

Tier 4 nukes went up high for since rdm can cast them now, and no one fights the mobs they come off at a low drop rate.

Invisible has always been high because its not a super common spell and has limited drop mobs. It was generally 30-40k on every server long before Abyssea.

Really? I thought they were pretty common drop in the dunes. Meaning anyone level 30+ can solo farm that scroll, so why waste the 40k on that?

Eh I farmed it for myself years and years and years ago and recently got it for a friend. Both farming sessions were relatively easy. I just find it funny that something that drops off a mob that takes 1~2 hits to kill would be so high in price.

Also, I just have to say /agree /agree /agree to your sig. As much as I'd love the father of FF back in the mix, I don't think he'll abandon mistwalker and come back.

I bought it for 3k. I might go play in the dunes lol make some easy money off morons.

Abyssea is the answer.. WHM is the only viable healer in aby.

Also the best healer to duel box. On low tier NMs rdm with a blu can work well together, but people like taking the fewest people they can so whm blm/brd blu thf can take out most seal NMs with ease. Going for KI mobs you got to switch it up a bit to take the fewest if you don't need seal you can drop the thf blm and blu and go with whm war nin and maybe mnk if its a harder mob and don't want to risk it.

OMG OP is SO right!
I believe that SE should give all the poor people welfare.
Once a week we should get a mere 15 million gil in our dbox. This shouldn't apply to those elite end gamers that have lots of great gear because then this would make it broken. It should only be given to those who have lives that can't be DEVOTED to this game.

I got raise 3 from Kirin back in 2006. I rarely use it as most people have some form of reraise from atmas or gear. It's nice to cycle with raise 2 and raise 1 in a wipe situation outside of abyssea but I wouldn't blame someone who is new to whm for not having it at the price people ask for it now.

In reality, you're saving even less exp than that. Raise 2 gets you back 75% of the lost exp, which is around 1800 exp at high levels. Raise 3 actually just increase the regained exp by around 300-400 compared to R2.

It's because WHM was always a better healer then RDM, but never had as much MP, so people used RDMs because that aspect mattered. Now, WHM doesn't have MP problems so healers are now mostly WHMs, thus increasing the demand for WHM related gears and spells, and supply/demand = price goes up.
