Thank you, thank you SquareEnix, your far too kind. I really didn't thing you'd go as far as fixing the "crap" you thought would be just compensation for ninja nerfing PUP a couple days after you gave it to us. It's funny you wait until an hour before the update is over to let us know about it. To be completely honest, the way you "giveth and taketh away" makes me wonder if you purposely gave us 10TP/tick Burattinaios. Hmmm... just a thought, but couldn't you have done an "emergency maintenance" months ago? And as for the enmity tricks PUP has had since it was made... I mean Altana forbid parties might actually find us useful for something? I guess that's cool... "fixing" that years after the fact. I just want to know who is calling the shots here? What goes on at these round table discussions? Obviously the development team needs a little help. I must say, in that update you took more than just a weapon and the perks that made a Puppetmaster worthy of the title "Master Manipulator", but our dignity too. And maybe we have ourselves to blame? Maybe all this complaining is making you believe we need you to "hold our hands." Well we don't and we were doing just fine until you had to come save the day again. Mommy knows best right? I don't think so. Especially, when Mommy does more harm than help. You've took a job that has been shunned from partying and group based gameplay and just made us even worse at soloing and surviving on its own. Really? Who's side are you on here? I don't know what I have to do to make you guys understand that you understand nothing about how Puppetmaster works in the "real world". Those test servers, or whatever the hell you guys think your testing out there, is not representative of what goes on within the real servers. So... why so quiet? I mean if your have the balls to nerf PUP you might as well offer somebody on the development team up to take the fire for it. But no... not a word? I won't even get into the things that have been wrong with PUP that you guys so cleverly ignored. I mean how many years have we been talking about this? You just "fix" what you want right? What's the point of these forums if you don't even read them? Why am I even wasting my time and money? Well rest assured this will be my last post, because posting on these forums to SquareEnix is about as useful as a pocket lint. I just want to know what you are so afraid of? The job that was original suppose to be "Necromancer," that you guys threw together just in time for the release of Treasures of Aht Urhgan would actually be useful? I mean we are just finally moving away from White Mage armor... haha I mean that was so damn effective right? No other job has to go through what we have to, to be a useful. I mean Usukane was our best gear for the longest time, but it was damn near impossible to get, and no one was EVER going to let a Puppetmaster have that kind of gear. And our ONLY other option was mage gear? What the @&#$ is that? Any other job you can buy gil, hit up the Auction House, and be a threat. I pride myself on being one of very few Puppetmasters that does not own a single piece of gear buyable on the Auction House (save Automaton Oil of course), but your really putting us in a between a rock and a hard place? What the hell do you intend for this job to do? Be in a party? Well obviously that ain't workin'. Solo? Well I guess Mommy "fixed" that away too. Damage Deal? OK, barrage is cool in all, but you can't effectively solo with Ranger frame? Our "flesh and blood" Paladin Automatons can't even tank, let alone keep hate... so I guess it's back to using the only semi-useful frame... Soulsoother. But I guess you guys were too busy to fix something useful. I mean why waste all those "resources" and time fixing something actually useful for Puppetmaster... haha... am I right? I guess I might as well end this with a F.U.S.E, since your not gonna read this anyway. My only advice is that I really hope you guys get your @#$& together. Staying silent ain't fixin' jack. And there is a whole lot more Puppetmasters fed up with the BS you guys think you can hand to us for 15+ bucks a month. I mean if you woulda asked me 3 years ago, I would've never imagined myself ever being so frustrated with what was to me the best game I had ever played. But ever since you guys created FFXIV, you just haven't been putting in the effort. Anyways thanks for the ride, it's really had been great. And to other the other Puppetmasters who will carry the torch, good luck, because if SquareEnix continues down the path they are headed down, your definitely gonna need it.

Also, the only things they've nerfed are things we never should have had in the first place. Hardly worth hitting people over the head with a brick wall (twice).

As my BLU friend put it so eloquently: "PUP just went from zomgwtf to omgwtf". We're still a powerhouse. All this whining littering PUP forums is getting pretty damn tedious.

yes, burts was only for a few months...months! not days

however i not with the quit type of ppl, but i really would love to ear something about what direction we can expect pup will take

in an old interview (the one with the meteor comment) SE said that we could expect VE to become like a pld tank. burts was something that make, most of us, thinks Cannibal blade spam was the way we should play it. now burts is no more and VE is still a piece of paper compared to bst and smn pet.

i dont pretend SE to improve/fix pup the way I want...up till now none of ours "request" was satisfied (except maybe DEA with some degree). most of us just wants to know what is SE have in mind.

unlike most of other jobs, pup have alot of way to play it and role in pt or event. its not like asking what a mnk should do and what we can expect from it...

its not whining...its caring about the job.

yep, it's the back-handed comparrison, they didn't improve VE's tanking, they killed the job they compared it too... but only in Aby. Try having a pld tank and then a VE tank against some of those new lvl 95 reg mobs. The run with the pld tank the party will live. The round with the VE tank?... not so much

I agree with OP.. I would aslo say that the other posters need to mind there own.. Play PUP and then make comments. Like Ive said for 4 years.. PUP is the redheaded step child of SE . I just keep on trucking with it and Hope SE one day shows us the Love we deserve.... Congrats to you OP and Im sorry to see you go.

Let me clarify, I do not plan to post any more threads started by myself, but people like you are the reason I find it necessary to post my opinions. I am certain that not everyone will agree with said opinions, but at the very least they are coming from someone with a great deal of experience with job. You never qualified your statements, so I am not ever sure that you are a Puppetmaster, but granted you didn't Abyssea yourself to level 90, posting the "eloquent" garbage of some random Blue Mage holds no standing in a Puppetmaster Forum. Well dressed garbage is still garbage.

This is SquareEnix we are talking about here... look at their track record... even if they make mistakes they "fix" them in a matter of days, if that. Blame it on the Earthquake if you will (my deepest condolences go out to the many still suffering in Japan), but SquareEnix doesn't just forget for months that they gave Puppetmaster a 10TP/tick regain H2H, just like they don't forget for years that Puppetmasters have been able to manipulate monster enmity in a way truly befitting of someone who "Pulls the strings." So yes, I plan to hit you and SquareEnix alike over the head with this brick is many times as it takes to knock some sense into you. And you know? Maybe I wouldn't have to keep posting if SquareEnix had the decency to even reply to the many Puppetmaster posts out there. But they have gone silent once again.

I don't intend to sound ungrateful especially after the speedy "Emergency Maintenance" that corrected the new attachments and WSs that they had given us, again only a couple days after the update Puppetmasters and others alike had been waiting so long for. But it would truly be nice if they would allocate at least some of their oh so precious "time and resources" fixing something actually useful for Puppetmaster. I mean with no way to improve Automaton elemental capacities and their obviously flawed AI, adding new attachments and WSs only further strains the whole "Maneuver" system. Not that it was ever useful, but at this point Puppetmaster can no longer use the weaponskill "String Clipper" on the Paladin Automaton. Now that WSs are overriding each other, it opens the floodgates for possibly a new "Drain" WS for Paladin pet, but seriously this whole maneuver thing, isn't complex enough to be controlling every aspect of the Automaton in a way that optimizes WS usage, attachments, survivability and Automaton AI in general. Even with Kenkonken and max "overload" reduction gear, it is hardly worth the time to be spamming a single elemental maneuver, when there are seven other elements correlated to other useful attachments. I mean, I have all the gear for Puppetmaster that you could ever ask for... So with all these years of experience, if my Automaton isn't performing, I blame SquareEnix.

In any case, Emaleth, I truly hope your a Puppetmaster worthy of your misguided posts. I'd really love to see your "omgwtf powerhouse" Puppetmaster in action, but I've been around the block a few times, so I'm not even sure if it'd be worth my time. I, in no way, claim to be the best Puppetmaster there is or that there will be, but I can truly say I tried darn hard to be the best Puppetmaster I could with what little room SquareEnix, anti-Puppetmasters, and those simply ignorant of the job allowed me.

I've played with the likes of great Puppetmasters across four different servers and learned a great deal, and I hope to learn even more from the many who have just joined us on Fenrir Server (Welcome, everyone from Unicorn ^.^v). But, your reply only deepens my resolve to demand SquareEnix's attention, so I will indure, and if you or SquareEnix have the wit and decency to even reply, I will be waiting. Oh and I'm not sure who Bob is, but I'd be more than willing to bet that he probably knows the job better than you. So, Emaleth, maybe its you who should stop posting your ill-contrived thoughts, at the very least on Puppetmaster Forums...

The poor dread horse has been beaten enough. Yes they nerfed the burts, I understand, woe is us.. I was pretty upset about it but It's not going to get fixed. They also didn't give us a real reason as to why they had to nerf it to 1tp and how come this wasn't addressed sooner..

SE wasn't really informative about the whole VE frame tanking like a PLD, I don't see it busting out Cures or putting up Reprisal or Enlight and all those PLD Job Abilities, tey gave it a little more HP, maybe they were saying that If we Use Ducal Guard we could have them tank with their little faces for a while..?

Who honestly knows but I do see that someone's post has been deleted, my only real problem with all that is going on is I want answers, that's all I want from a Mod/GM developer. As to What, why, how and when and their thoughts on PUP and if they ever consider any of our suggestions for this job. It's all i want.

Also Automaton Oils suck and they should have cure properties like BST pet food if the VE frame can't cure itself.. Or at least Allow Automatons to heal other Automatons, I could see that being useful.

PUP was my only job for a couple years, so I like to think I know what I'm talking about. I wasn't just posting the opinion of some random Blue Mage. I posted it because I agree with it. All they've done to PUP was to level the playing field. When the Barrage turbine and Heat Capacitor were announced, I knew Buratts were going to get nerfed to hell. The TP gain would be beyond broken if they hadn't been. If anything, it was just to hold us over 'til the new attachments were released.

I understand why you'd want to hear from SE, but it isn't really necessary. I think the quick changes to our weaponskills proves they're at least paying attention. Maybe take their silence on certain "flaws" as their answer? Have to admit I don't check the other parts of this forum often, but when have they ever responded directly to a post in job forums?

Didn't mean MY PUP was "omgwtf", necessarily. Was speaking generally about the job. I'm fairly pleased with the numbers I can crank out, but there are PUPs out there that make me look lackluster. I just really don't think we need more help. And I don't think it's "ill-contrived" to suggest that PUP is still powerful, but I suppose if a Kenkonken PUP doesn't think it is, I'm just not going to convince you.

I'm new to the job, But it seems really powerful to me.

Its not Ukon WAR, But you can't expect it to be. Still, my Stringing Pummels have peaked around 5.2k, Its really fun, My automatons skills are largely uncapped, but if they were, I'd imagine it'd just be even more berserk. The job is really amazing.

I never got to enjoy the Burrs, But Even without the 10tp/tic PUP is still an excellent job.

I'm a drk main who has solo'd pup over these last few months and have very much enjoyed the job, in fact I spend most of my non ls time on pup just testing the waters and tryin to get better gear (working on str/att h2h atm), but I can answer a question posed by Emaleth.

I have many jobs at level 90 and check out many different forums and I can say that no GM has ever directly answered a topic in the forum. However we drks demanded Last Resort duration increased and we got it, in fact we got it greater than we asked for and thats what angers me about pup atm. Also I too can dish out decent numbers with stringing pummel in abyssea, but it really sucks having a retarded robot following me around like a drunkard who needs more alcohol so that it can finally die, or become competent, who knows maybe these robots work like bender and just need more alcohol to run better.

P.S. SE are you really gonna stop automoton oils at level 50? seriously?

I trio with friends, one of whom is a PUP, and we tank with VE plenty of times. Using automaton oil plays a huge role in it, and it's not difficult to keep hate on that little bugger when PUP friend is decked out with attachments and consistently keeps his automaton capped.

I agree that Valoredge could use a bit of a boost, but I have to step in and say that it's been grossly understated.

I've used it to tank specific mobs on occasion. With the right attachments and maneuvers up, along with +2 oils, it can be quite the daunting guy.

My suggestions:
- MP is a bad idea. We don't need this thing to get interrupted while casting, missing attack rounds.
- Strobe could use a hate boost.
- Damage is fine, Defense could use a boost though.
- Shield procs would be nice. It would share skill with the "Automaton Melee" category.
- New Automaton Oil would be nice.

Also, Cannibal Blade could use help.

So whats the tldnr version? This looks like every other /cry pup thread I've seen since ther burritos nerf.

1) 10 tp regain was broken, if you didn't see it coming you were dreaming...hard
2) The adjustments to ws more then compensate for the 'nerf'. Not only can we close VS and SP with light / darkness level 3 skill chains, but VE went from around 700-900 dmg ws to about 2.5-3k ws, and SS went from 1500-2000 damage to 3-4k

Heres the timeline:

• Pups introduced
• Pups suck...
• AF3+2 armor introduced
• Pups rock, can cap haste, have access to two of the most powerful ws in game (sp and vs)
• burts added
• pups are broken, can solo way more then they should be able to, and with 0 effort compared to verethragna can face smash monks/sam/war etc with their +2 empy weapon
• burritos fixed, compensated with new attachments, and new more powerful ws, and increased performance on SP
• pups still face face smash non-empy ws war/mnk/sam for moderate effort (need SP + automaton skill).
• Pups go to forums to QQ losing god status of dd with 0 work.

Burritos were great. I loved them and I soloed most of WotG with them, but I knew full well they were broken and would be fixed eventually.

only in abyessa. Melee ws sucks outside of aybessa.

Burts nerf was too much, its on par with a lvl 77 bst easy drop easy nm. Regain should have been 3 tp regain, yes 10 was too much.

Its ok the nerfs they made, but they should have fixed the AI. They nerfed thigns that have been around for years, and ignored the bugs that we actually need. NO EXCUSE WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!! to do that. I would been fine with all the changes if they just fixed that stuff.

Automaton oils were updated a while back. They now heal 10/20/30% HP as well as the 10x10/20x20/30x30 regen.

I think it's obvious that none of the dev team plays PUP. The paradoxal nature of the Demonry Core that was added this update shows that they are not in touch with the player base. (Why put PUP on it when they can't equip it...)
