MERITS CAPS: what everyone can agree to

The merit magic skill cap and the merit combat skill cap need to be increased again. My argument is that we have 20 jobs to play or choose from and with current limitations we cannot fully merit more than 2 jobs at once.

I have 3 jobs that require 8/8 magic merits and 2 jobs that require 8/8 combat merits. This leaves me 8 magic merits short and 4 combat merits left to split between 10 other melee jobs.

If you could increased the caps so we could 8/8 4-5 jobs in both magic and combat merits, it would improve enjoyment as we level multiple jobs. for example, increasing the magic cap from 16 to 32, increasing the combat cap from 20 to 40.

At this point, I wouldn't even consider non-job specific merits to be game-breaking, definitely don't play as big a role as they did at 75. They may as well remove the restriction on them, but yeah, at a minimum they should allow you to merit a few more selections. It's not like you're gonna use most of them simultaneously anyways.

Come level 99 i think they should at least add another if not expand on what we have say 90/95+ Merit group 3 or some thing along the lines.

Group 3 merits and revisions to existing categories. Some things are just so pathetic to even bother with. There probably shouldn't be limits at this point in time.

Merit points are just extra though. I think you can just balance it out across the board if you want to play both melee and mage.

I cannot say what 99 be like but im sure boosting a skill to only 16 is meaningless like now. Not only total caps need to be higher, so do individual caps even the stat merits and so on need to be lifted

4-5 more combat and magic skill category cap rise could be enough

I have to agree on this, the devs made XP so easy now that everyone has capped all their jobs to 90 and capped merits. Now everyone is bored.

Make huge boosts to merits, and make them harder to get. Maybe 10-20 merits per upgrade, people like to have stuff to do and things to build on, being capped sucks.

Off topic, leeching in Aby has really created this problem. It's amazing how many people have all jobs at 90 all of a sudden. It's good and bad I guess.

On topic, I think at this point, merits aren't really needed anymore. You have to cap at some point. You can't just keep growing and growing. Once we get to 99, i wonder if it wouldn't just be best to get rid of merits all together. *Shrugs*

remove the merit cap at all, let us max all of the group and maybe raise the max for every skill to another 8 merit.

then we can wait for the new level 99 merit system ^^
