San d'Oria Mission: The Rescue Drill Bug Report

PLEASE HELP :(:confused::mad::confused::(

The Rescue Drill Mission is not giving me the sword on 2 characters I recently made on the 2nd ID tag linked to the main account. Tech support was unable to help me from phone and told me to call in game help desk. The [GM] Rynemeril was unable to help me aside from providing a path to post here for help to find out why the game is not allowing me to obtain the sword to give the other NPC.

The Record of Eminence is saying that I'm on Save the Children when I have already completed the mission and I'm on the one mentioned on the post.

I've run back and forth about 20x on both characters Ellynn & Emmalyne and have not be able to recieve the sword from either of the two NPC's that are supposed to give me it so that I can turn it in to the other NPC in the cave. I've done this with 12 other characters and was able to complete the mission and had mostly the same exact missions and quests active I don't know why these two characters are unable to complete the mission they literally have the basics.

Both Characters are level 70 cap currently

You mean the three NPCs, right? Deaufrein or Equesobillot near the cave, or Galaihaurat up by the road, who you had to talk to at the start? It's almost always been him in my experience, because why wouldn't I have to run as far as possible to slow things down.

Yeah the 3 NPC's sorry I typed it all up while stressed since I've been unable to do the mission for a while now on the 2 character yeah all 3 of the NPC's will not give me the sword on either of the two characters. Spoke with [GM] Ontiakanee told me to keep an eye on the forum in case there is a fix for the issue. Currently running another character through missions to replace my goldsmithing assistant/bazaar/storage character on the 2nd account on one of the two PC's.

Nothing is broken. Just ran this again last week. You simply forgot a step. You forgot to finish the previous or officially start the next.

If I had a nickle every time someone complained something was broken and it was just user error, I don't know how much money I'd have but I'd still take it.

I'm sure a GM will be happy to post 3 weeks from now about it, after you've given up though. Not that he'll help you in any way.

I didn't forget anything that I didnt do before that I know of :confused:. I did this 14x in a row the exact same steps as each character and I'm doing it again now on another character on a 2nd account I've already checked with the NPC's they wont let me cancel the mission I've checked with all the other NPC's as well and they did nothing except repeat them selves like every other NPC usually does. The NPC's at the mission location just keep telling me they don't have his sword either.

Have you tried acquiring a bronze sword by other means, and trading it to Ruillont? That would at least let you know if the game somehow thinks you should have it yet. If that doesn't work, try just talking to him, to see if you got hit with an "event skipped" that you didn't notice or something that might have made the previous conversation not count.

I've tried that 3x no it doesn't work from buying a bronze sword and attempting to give it to the 3 NPC's or the one in the cave who wants his sword all he says its its not mine. I've spammed the button on all the NPC's they just repeat them selves. I've also checked all my bags all my wardrobes the swords not inside any of them for either of the characters mentioned.

Currently omw there with Puncheena on the other account to do the mission now.
The thing is I was able to complete it across 2 accounts with 12/14 characters previously the past week.

Just went to the mission location after getting the mission spoke to every NPC as I went down the hill and into the cave and spoke with the one in there I came outside and spoke to every NPC all the way back up the hill and none of them gave me the sword for Puncheena now so now thats 3 characters unable to obtain the weapon to give to the NPC. How am I missing a step ???

This has happened on 2 accounts now.

Running a file check on the game for both PC's now.

Three corrupt files repaired logged in and spoke to same NPC was able to get the sword now problem solved.
Thanks to everyone who took time out of your day to eyeball the posts about this issue and attempt to help.

Corrupted files and yet all the other characters on the same pc had no issues. Never heard that one before.

Yeah its a bit odd but it works now thankfully.

The HDD on the old PC is making a buzzing sound :confused:

Huh. Interesting that client-side files would be able to do that, I would have thought that would be handled server-side. Something to add to the troubleshooting steps in the future. Glad you were able to hit on a solution in the end at least.

Most of these quests have been in the game for a very long time. 99.9% of the time, whenever someone says "<insert quest or mission> is bugged" they forgot something, did something out of order, or another quest or mission is conflicting.
