Add Apex monsters to the Manaclipper

Add a handful of Apex monsters to the manaclipper ride (and maybe some others) with decent respawn rates.

This would be such a great camp with scenic views instead of dungeons, and due to its nature where you can't afk there be more likely used by actual players.

Also, Apex Pirates and Sea Horror.

Apex Crabs, Apex Pugils.

We have Apex Crabs and Pugils already. The ride only lasts so long and players would have to wait for it to begin again once docked.

That's kind of the point, it would be impossible to bot and be a nice area to get xp. You would need to kill fairly decently fast of course.

It really wouldn't b e so nice, the ride is only so long and you're likely to have battles interrupted by area changes, along with the waiting time between costing xp/hr. I can't imagine anyone going to this trouble just to avoid bots.

There's a really simple solution: Get off Asura. Yes, there will be *some* bots everywhere, but on other servers you can actually find XP camps.

(And yes, I know, you shouldn't have to transfer to solve a problem like this- everyone is entitled to have a good experience and shouldn't have to pay for a server transfer just to avoid a solveable problem that isn't being solved. Just saying, the option is there if it comes to it)

Maybe the solution is to just start offering transfers off of Asura for free to help alleviate some of the overcrowding issues. Maybe everyone would decide to just all pack up and move to another server together, and the bots would be left to haunt Asura all alone.

I mean FFXIV does that, most other MMOs do that. Not that long ago they had to raise the limit on the name database for asura, which obviously means there are more characters on the world than the game was originally designed to handle. You'd think they would offer transfers in such a circumstance.

Free transfers off Asura (if grouped with lockouts on returning to Asura for 6+ months, cause if they don't do this people will abuse it) would have minimal impact on population numbers, people like Asura as it is. It's not expensive to move since they have half price transfers very often.

The developers doing anything about Asura population numbers by force would be a mistake, players want to go there and players on there want to be there.

"Fixing" asura would be as big a mistake for them as sharding was for blizzard.

Well I agree on restricting return travel but any change is a change worth making. We will continue to disagree on just how many people might want to transfer but don't want to spend money to do so. I know that's a contrubting factor to why im not going to transfer to any other server (if I did, it wouldn't be Asura, that much is certain), and if one person would do something, there are almost certainly others who would do that something.

Just the act of making the offer would make it more plain to players that there is a population imbalance problem, and thus likely spur some people to do it at SE's behest. But no one said anything about doing it by force, I'm not suggesting a server split or anything like that.

The half price transfers don't have any requirements as to where you transfer to or from, so they are meaningless for population balancing. The free transfers would only be from high pop worlds to low pop worlds.

You do realize many Asurans are botters and the RMT will just follow the largest collective of people to reduce expenses when transferring gil and assets, right? It doesn't matter if all of them move to Bahamut or Sylph, or only a fraction of them. The problem is it's many of the players themselves.

The REAL problem is SE has been incredibly lax in doing Anything about it for years now.

The goal is balanced populations, such that they don't heavily prefer one population over another.

These very forums are largely responsible for that as well. With posts like this urging people to come to Asura.

You need to keep in mind that some people really want to see lots of people around, which is the role Asura fills.

Some have this mindset that if they forced people to move off asura nothing would happen except balancing, no these people would start quitting.

I've played a few mmorpgs over the years and every time the developers start trying to fix overcongestion issues it leads to "the game is dead", "I barely see anyone while i'm in some random out of the way zone!"

This is why games try to funnel players into the same city zones or have less reason to go anywhere else. XIV tries to do this a lot for instance.

It's not a simple matter of some people like being in a crowd. There's a general assumption that higher population is better, and that's simply not the case. Beyond a certain point, problems start to appear or get worse, and Asura is past that point.

People also falsely assume that they won't be able to get anything done on a lower pop server which simply isn't true either. 90% of everything can be done with Trust, and most players are ready and able to collaborate on the remaining 10%. In some cases it takes a little more planning but there's nothing you can do on Asura that you can't do on any other server.
