Whats the crafting situation, Snake?!

Title is just being silly but, do you guys think its worth even attempting to synth anymore? I'm just on carbuncle and we only have maybe 2 shields(ive seen so far) Cloth and Smithing.
But all of these mules obviously getting weekly dropoffs are kind of killing the business for alot of people.
Our material prices continue to rise and rise while our HQ prices go down every few days.
I guess im just posting out of fustration since I know you cant really do anything about it
Are other servers seeing things like this aswell and do you find that its affecting you as crafters?

Assura is literally ruining every other server. No exaggeration.

There are at least 7 shields here now, they load up mules and send them to every other server to buy your mats, and sell their HQs for more money on your servers.

There is no point in even trying to craft (HQ gear) at this point. Missed the boat.

However, ALL crafts from this point on will require the KI from the shield... so... you need to at least get to the KI stage. if you even want to try.

The final stage costs more than it would to make 12 mythics. At that value it will take quite a while to return investment.

I was doing Adhemar hands and body +1 and thats a really popular item anyway so I'm not surprised that people are bringing them over but went from selling for 80m to 27m in 3.5 months while the price in materials has done nothing but rise.
I get that more HQs at a lower price is fine but having another server dictate others prices is fustrating.
All thats going to happen is in a month or two when people finally finish shields here which we've had plenty of stage 4s since oct/nov is the native synthers are going to just keep undercutting and soon most if not all synths will be completely worthless

Staghorn corals still take some effort to get, while crafting HQ bodies takes none.

They never should've been worth as much as they were in the first place, this is just finally bringing some semblance of balance.

Crafting system in this game is absolute garbage. And the prices reflect that.

Prolly most shield owners, and the ones currently making one, used bots to farm the synthesis chain spheres. It is really unfair situation when they can farm 24/7 while the honest players either have to buy the mats or spheres or slowly farm the mats while competing the botters.

Yeah and on the botting thing imo SE could do something about it and drop bans etc but theyre not and I dont think they ever will.
I do agree the prices on HQs were crazy but im a fan of price of mats x HQ chance for the price of them like 1m mats x 16 = hq price however we couldnt lower the prices too much because mat prices are so insane. Even when I farm the mats myself I still will charge higher because now its my personal time to farming the materials.
I personally dont care about people botting for shields I think its too risky and will probably get you alot of reports, but my issue is other servers prices bleeding into others but theres no real way to stop it

ABJ HQ prices went down because the gear started getting outdated. As it's no longer the absolute top gear for min/max'ing, prices are going to go down. 3.5 months is a perfectly reasonable amount of time for markets to shift and prices to change.

I think that if there is anything that deserves complaining about, it's the cost of SU3 mats. Each piece requires 1-3x NPC-only 1.1mil/ea mats in addition to expensive vagary/delve things, and they are all T0 HQ rates (baseline) which means that HQs are too unreliable to count on to even break even. ~_~;;

Thats called a money sink. It's done purposefully. Those 1.1m mats are going to continue to be heavily used.

@Nyarlko Yeah I understand that but what was game breaking that was released from Nov-now i guess haha that would have tanked the prices so much? I'd assume things like Adhemar Jacket +1 and other things of that tier are stilll pretty good/top unless everyones new relic has done them in.
I'm not disagreeing with you either I understand time passes and it will get cheaper and cheaper as more people have it less will want etc but what exactly is outdating things like that to have 60-80% price drops ;; sorry this is my thing I gripe about D:

Depending on the recipe (not jacket tho,) you could also be looking at something that happened to get bumped up a tier by Escutcheons, plus there was the change to how HQ+ stat works, etc. so there may be factors that you're not accounting for. Also of note, on Asura, Legion mats have all dropped in price significantly so the projected costs per HQ is roughly 25%-40% what it was a year ago.

Good example would be the ABJ legs recipes since I think they're all 93cap w/o subcrafts. Pre-shields, they were T1 but now are potentially T2. Even if mat prices had held up, that means that even with an uncompleted shield, you'd quadruple your income off the same price for mats, which means most sellers are going to be more willing to lower their asking prices. Factor in the drop in mat prices too and you get a pretty small fraction left over compared to earlier.

Yeah and I understand your point there and that just cant be helped. Its just fustrating to have a handfull servers prices dictating others prices but I guess thats just the game now.
Our mats say from legion things like staghorn have actually doubled in price since fall, Befouled silver having gone up 20-30% on avg having spiked at almost 100% the price, but that just farmers still selling at what they always have and then native crafters having to buy to even try to keep up or just quit crafting because the tons of mules getting weekly HQ drop offs

I am always pro making things easier. But only If I benefit from it.

On Asura I personally know of quite a few "bot" teams that hog out Palborough Mines and Garlaige Citadel for spirit sphere synth items. And as of now I know of 2 Gold, 1 Bone, 1 Cloth, 1 Smith, and 2 Cooking Shields, two of which are NOT 'bots' (1 gold and 1 cook) but the others I am not sure of. I think there's a person that has finished a WW one, but if so then hopefully I'll be #2 shortly. Farming spheres fighting bots is rough when soloing and cannot fill up a treasure pool to efficiently spend time and foods for it.

I am almost to that stage in my LC shield, and plan to dbox my way to victory while farming. Other me kills things w/ TH8+ tagged while Nya desynths the drops.
Gotta love having multiple laptops XD

Just completed tonight all my crafter's points for the 3 items you need to get. Only thing I have left now is all the spirit synths to get my Apex crystal and then i will be done. Gosh i needa convince LS mate to party with me just for that treasure pool help.

I considered finishing mine, been at sphere stage for awhile but I figured by the time I finish it wont be worth synthing anything anymore so just gave up

Current recipes won't be worth as much as time passes, but there will be new recipes at some point. And I have a horrible feeling that we'll see top-end synths that require completed Escutcheons eventually as well, (there's even a KI at the end that doesn't appear to do anything yet,) so it's not any more a waste of time than making a REMA weapon.


Ah. ._.;; If anyone on Asura happens to be working on a Leathercraft one however, you are welcome to give up so that I will have less competition in the future. :3

More than likely ALL future synths (of any value) will require the shield KI but you don't have to do the sphere stage for that ki

If you are talking about the KI required for Su3, I vaguely remember recipes being added, after the initial wave of Su3 stuff, that did not require that KI, and I think that it's unlikely that it will be a full, permanent blanket requirement in the future.

And, yes you do. There is an extra KI for each craft called an "aurum tome" that you get at the last step AFTER completing the craftchain portion when you get the final ingredient for your shield. That is the one I meant that has no known use so far, and that is the KI that I'm dreading becoming a possible requirement later down the line, even if it's for BIS synths and recipes are few and far between.

I'm not synthing for profit anymore since there really is none left but I do enjoy making HQs for my ls members.
Since HQ is becoming more common and its not as valuable as before but still pretty amazing items I'm hoping that alot of this junk drops hard in price so it still doesnt cost 35m for 10 synths when the result HQ isnt even worth 30(this are prices on carbuncle I dont know about others).
I personally dont care whether HQ prices bottom out to worthlessness which they will eventually but id like to finally see the price of materials reflect that so for us normies w/ last stage shield and no spheres can atleast still synth for ourselves and friends w/o crazy cost to ourselves

Honestly depends on whether or not the devs kick their habit of overloading certain mats w/ multiple uses. Vagary mats are unlikely to bottom out ever at this point since they keep using them in new recipes for instance. I also don't see any major/drastic economic impacts occurring until after there are several completed shields running around on your server. Unlike Kupo Shield, escutcheons are craft-specific and take time/effort/astronomical_gil, so far less likely for any overnight shifts to be able to occur.
