Unity announcement of Domain Invasion Issues

The announcement of Domain Invasion in unity chat is a bit unfair. Currently the best way to farm escha beads is from these fights, but a lot of the time you get the message that the unity chat is full. Since the chat is full you receive none of the announcements that the next Domain Invasion is upcoming. SE please change the system of announcement of Domain Invasions to a system that EVERYONE can see, not just those that are lucky enough to get into unity chat before it reaches its capacity.

If your Unity isn't working for you, try a different one.

It's not a problem with the unity, its a problem SE built into unity itself. Unless you pick the least popular unity, giving you a useless or undesired unity trust, its an annoying issue.

As a suggestion, unity messages that pertain to domain invasion should be sent on a system type message so everyone on the server gets notified.... Similar to campaign notifications rather than the current method that isn't working well.

Even in a unpopular unity with chat not even close to full you will often cut in and out of unity chat... even while remaining in zone. But since there is no longer a message you wont even know it so hours can pass and you will wonder why there hasn't been messages. Even worse I find sometimes I'll have partial unity chat. Like I wont be able to see anything from leaders but I can from players so I will think I am monitoring for the domain invasions but in fact I'm not. Or even weirder is sometimes I can be in chat enough to send messages that others can see but I can't see anyone elses

We’re aware that since Domain Invasion announcements are being made through the Unity chat feature, it’s not possible for others to see once this chat channel reaches capacity. We feel this needs to be adjusted, and we’ve been looking into supplementing the Unity chat feature or having a system message announcement; however, we’ve determined that neither of these approaches will be possible.

Due to this, we’re looking in another direction, and we would like to make adjustments to Domain Invasion by shortening the spawn timers of the notorious monsters found in Eschan areas (including Reisenjima) so that if you visit any of these areas, the opportunities to battle these monsters will increase.

We’re planning to address this sometime after April, but please let us know your thoughts before the end of the month.

If you could add a progress bar under region info -> escha -> Domain and show something like Zi-Tah 90% (progress until spawn not current hp), that way people can see how long until it spawns, that would be my idea.

Then add the same thing to WKR so you could go to regin info -> adoulin -> wild keepers

Maybe they should just give people reasons to go to unities other than Apururu and Sylvie.

The main reason unity chat is full is because of the trusts associated with them are the best, ie Apururu is one of the best healers. If you could give a comparable healer that is acquired via quest(not associated by limited time event) then more could change to other trusts, which are not as full.

On Carbuncle, participation has dropped to the point where Azi and Naga are sometimes untouched between noon and midnight EST, and even Quetzasdfkjfl has stood around looking lonely at times. Having them spawn more frequently without knowing about them isn't going to fix the problem, and in fact may just further frustrate players who care about the fights.

Naga timed out at 99% after midnight last night, that was just depressing to see how badly my server has fallen. The more that happens, the less I care about the event.

Can't these notifications become system messages similar to how Besieged works? Or the long forgotten about Bastion fights in Abyssea? The entire fight/reward system needs an overhaul if we're to somehow pursue 300+ wins for the 11th vorseal.

Ah yeah now I can miss twice the messages regardless of how full the chat is

Since the battles are fixed duration and whether the dragon is killed previously does not seem to affect it's respawn time, why not just go to a fixed spawn time? For example Azi could spawn at JP midnight, Naga at 1am, and Quetz at 2am, then have them repeat in that order through out the rest of the day. That way players would have the opportunity to kill one of the dragons each game day and there would be no need to announce their spawns. A side benefit is that since prime play time for either NA or JP is about a 4 hour window, each group would theoretically have the opportunity to kill each dragon at least once during their respective prime times.

Can unity chat act as campaign chat in city? And be on the on off with chat filters?

Can the the dragons scale to players in area battle?
I have entered a few battles, with leg and too many players, rewards was too weak. Dragon died too fast.
Not enough players to kill it, is a waste of time.
Set spawn times every hour, More adjustment, More area, larger space.?

Domain Invasion respawn event has been going on for nearly a week, and dragons are still sitting idle during NA/EU times. This event is in dire need of help. Making them spawn more often clearly has not helped.

Some suggestions:
- Just leave the dragons up until we beat them. That way any stubborn NA/EU players can bang their heads against it all day long like WKR and we don't feel like all we've accomplished was make it easier for the JP to finish it off (they don't need the help).
- Improve the rewards. A handle of capacity points is nothing compared to the amount we could get from one apex mob. Being able to earn several job points during a 30 minute period would be fair for the time.
- Make the dragon spawn messages system/server messages like Besieged or Bastion. Unity chat is just flat out broken.
- Nerf the heck out of the dragons during slow times of the day.
- Reduce the number of kills needed for vorseals. It's an absurd headache for NA/EU players to make progress on vorseals when the dragons sit idle all day.

1. Agreed.
2. The rewards are fine, the problem is that once people have the rewards, they rarely want to go back. Adding vouchers to rewards would be a little enticement, as would perhaps say 5 JP. Even if you did all 3 dragons in an hour, that's 15 JP. That's still nothing to most people, but it's reason to come.
3. Those weren't quite server messages. You didn't see besieged warnings beyond Aht Urghan.

Also part of the reason why this campaign isn't working so well is because there are sooooo many other end game oriented campaigns and it being only a week long people are spamming those. Especially the HTBF ones since the 10k amounts are kind of killer. So people are less likely to risk wasting their time at a dragon that might have anyone else show up for

It would be nice if they would post a schedule of the campaigns so that people could plan ahead.

Hello, everyone.

I have a follow-up to my previous post about Unity chat announcements.

Currently, the development team is in the midst of discussing adjustments for Domain Invasion, and once these adjustments have been finalized, they will decide on how they would like to address Unity chat specifically. At the moment, they are looking to address this issue with three different patterns:

• Make an announcement in chat with the current system.
• Make an announcement, but limit the information a bit more.
• Stop the announcements.

The pattern adopted will be dependent on the length in which it takes for the notorious monster to respawn. If the frequency of announcements is too high, there is a possibility for bugs, so we’re looking into lowering this.

Why not just make it a known and specific time the Domain Invasions start?

All start right at hour 00:00.
Zitah, every Fire and Earth day
Ru'Aun, every Ice and Thunder day
Reisenjima, every Wind and Water day

Then all announcement's could effectively be stopped.

Good idea, TERRIBLE example. Only pops (2x) every 8 hours?

Better idea: No 2 dragons can be up at once. Quetz cannot pop until Raja is killed etc. Remove despawning. Remove respawning. as a dragon dies, the next one pops. No need for messages anymore.

I like that. Forcing the lower area's to be killed in order for Resinjima to pop would be nice since nobody kills anything but Reisenjima anymore for the most part on Phoenix and newer people may not get the kills on Ru'Aun/Zitah for a long time now.

I would add a delay between spawns after one dies though, to give people time to reach each one before it's dead, like the 10min warning we have now. Once one dies, you have 10min before the next one spawns.

It's kind of a bad idea for maintaining blessings though.. some thought should be giving to those I think

That would make their rate of appearance directly dependent on how fast and often they're being killed. I don't think that's what SE wants, as it would probably result in a much higher rate of kills.
