To coincide with the February version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui held another "Freshly Picked Vana'diel" to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. Below is a digest of what was discussed.

Adoulin Lore Quest

We’ve added the final chapter to a quest series focusing on a particular aspect of Adoulin lore. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll hold off on talking about the quest content.

There will be a battle that occurs during the quest, and we’ve tuned it so that any job can clear it solo by using Trust alter egos.

Naturally since this is the final chapter, we’ve also prepared reward equipment. Definitely use this opportunity to clear the quests, especially those of you who have yet to play through the previous ones.

Alluvion Skirmishes

We’ve added a new item, “Refractive Crystal,” that can be purchased with Unity accolades. This item will allow you to add arcane glyptics to job-specific back equipment.

You can add arcane glyptics by trading the back equipment and a Refractive Crystal to the NPC added to the Inventors’ Coalition in Adoulin.

Naturally you’ll be able to do this with job-specific back equipment you obtained from reives, but you’ll also be able to re-add arcane glyptics to job-specific back equipment you obtained from Incursion.

Additionally, since this makes it easier to obtain job-specific back equipment with arcane glyptics, we’ve increased the drop rate for job-specific back equipment in Incursion and eased up on the obtainment difficulty.

Records of Eminence

Additionally, we’ve been receiving feedback that the numbers to achieve certain daily objectives was a bit too high, so we’ve made adjustments to this.

Furthermore, we’ve also made some quality-of-life adjustments such as making it possible to indicate the number of skill boosting items when purchasing them.

Job Adjustments

In addition to adding new pets for beastmaster, we’ve also reduced the recast times of Sic and Ready and made overall adjustments to the special abilities of monsters.

Considering that it’s possible for party enhancements, especially haste, to be cast on pets, we’ve made adjustments so that the damage for each hit is higher.

Additionally, due to the fact that pet abilities are managed through charges only at the moment, we’ve added TP modifiers to each ability to give TP some purpose.

We’ve also made some minor adjustments to Amigo Sabotender, and the ability “1000 Needles” has been changed to “??? Needles.”

With all of the beastmaster adjustments that took place in the February version update I feel it has become a much more powerful job, so please be sure to try it out.

  Since blue magic skill did not affect the activation rate of certain blue magic additional effects, we’ve standardized the formula for the activation of blue magic additional effects, and made it so blue magic skill affects them.
  
  Additionally, we’ve increased the maximum level for certain job traits from three to four.
  
  
• Puppetmaster
  We’ve increased the potency of automaton weapon skills. Additionally, we’ve added various new attachments.
  
  We’ve been receiving a lot of feedback about special battle tactics using Deactivate based on the adjustments that were performed in the December version update. The development team is of course aware of the existence of this battle strategy, and we consider it to be in the scope of how this feature was intended to work. With that said, we do not have any plans to make adjustments to prevent the use of this strategy.
  
  However, the development team would like to players to maintain automatons as long as possible, and they will continue to make adjustments in the future to make doing so more advantageous.
  
  We’re planning to make further adjustments to puppetmaster in the March version update, so please let us know your feedback afterwards.

New Synergy Recipes

We’ve added items that combine all of the elemental belts, obis, and gorgets via synergy. The elemental properties and stats have not changed, but we’ve also added a small bonus to each item:
“TP not depleted when weapon skill used +1%” for the gorget and belt, and “magic not depleted when magic used +1%” for the obi.

If you use the belt and the gorget at the same time the stats will stack for a combined 2%.

Mog Gardens

New Trust Alter Egos

We’ve added two new alter egos: Arciela and Chacharoon.

Arciela is a support-type alter ego and she was made based on how she moves during Adoulin missions. In terms of special characteristics, she will switch between two different modes and also has intelligence that prioritizes the support of the player who summoned her. This intelligence will be expressed through a system where your reputation with her will change through Adoulin missions.

As for Chacharoon, you’ll be able to summon him by taking part in monster rearing.

Since he is a Qiqirin child, we wanted to put this to use and created new, original abilities that are based on the idea that a child is using them. He’ll fight using the adorable wooden stick he always carries, so be sure to summon him!

Quality-of-Life Adjustments

  Mog Bonanza marbles can be exchanged until Thursday, March 5. If you haven’t done so already, please make sure to do so quickly.
  
  The orchestrion music that was added as rank 3 and 4 prizes can only be obtained through Mog Bonanza, so if you were lucky enough to land the numbers for these ranks please consider choosing these items.
  
  
• March Login Campaign
  At long last the alter ego for Mayakov will finally be available through the March Login Campaign.
  
  During the Wings of the Goddess missions Mayakov only wielded a single weapon, but brought out his second weapon when the going got tough, so we created his alter ego to dual wield based on this hidden trait. Additionally, he’ll utilize his trademark ability from the missions, so look forward to this new alter ego!
