The state of Collations.

For the past two months I've been spending ALL my tags on Peacekeepers collation trying to get it to rank 8 for Armor+1 to become available. Every week it has been for nothing, stayed rank 7 a couple weeks then fell to rank 6 and has been there for a month. It doesn't effect me so much although having some Quick Draw pants would be nice, Isn't this an equipment stepping stone for new and returning players to advance up the iLv ladder? Why make it so difficult to level up collations it only hurts the servers with a lower population or lazy population. Do you(SE/Dev) know if there will be any changes to help ease this in the future?

Wait it delvls? I've never heard of any of them delvling. Also you don't need rank 8 (actually don't think 8 is possible) you just need Main Chimney so just keep voting for that.

It does delevel. On Valefor Peacekeeper is down to 6 and Pioneer/Mummer is down to 7. Of course there's no real incentive to use imprimaturs on these compared to Courier so sucks for us I guess.

We're having similar issues here on Sylph, except Mummers is struggling more than Peacekeepers.

Hopefully the Dev team really looks into this though because it's inevitably going to get worse and worse. Personally I think the coalitions shouldn't delevel at all, especially with dwindling server populations. What makes this all worse though is that the rewards from doing Coalition quests are just completely in favor of Courier's. For example, why do a Morale Boost in Kamihr, which requires figuring out what direction and emote to do to an NPC, when you could instead do Frontier Support to the Kamihr Drifts Bivouac #4, which only requires simply talking to the NPC. Using 3 imprimaturs for the Kamihr Frontier Support assignment to Bivouac #4 rewards about 11200~ Bayld if you use the waypoint there, while 3 Imps for the Morale Boost in Kamihr rewards only 7200 Bayld/Exp but requires much more effort to do with the annoying mechanics of morale boosting.

It's blatantly imbalanced and is really quite annoying watching coalitions delevel from this imbalance.

To go further, I decided to make it my own personal mission for several weeks to try to get the Mummers Coalition back up to Rank 8 between my three chars I have under my account. It had just recently dropped to rank 6 and I was able to get it back up to rank 7 within the first week, likely because it had only just deleveled. Because of this I figured getting it to 8 wouldn't be too difficult, and so I continued to pour all of my imprimaturs between my three chars at the Mummers coalition for about 4 weeks. Anyways, come now and the coalition is still only Rank 7, which is absolutely disappointing considering I had three characters using all of their imps on the coalition (never missed a single imprimatur either!).

Basically if you want these unpopular coalitions to rank up or get specific things (like the Main Chimney in Peacekeepers), you're going to have to get outside help from a good amount of other people, which can be exceedingly difficult to do at the moment.

Is this why I can't buy homestead weapons anymore?

And to think, IIRC, originally coalitions were supposed to decay FASTER.

I just looked at the list on Carbuncle and Mummers has been delevelled for us.

Yes this is why.

I guess the people who do collation quests have already hit legend or there are so few trying to climb to legend that the few people putting tags towards it isn't enough.

There are currently no plans to adjust the rate at which Adoulin Coalition ranks increase and decrease at this time; however, the development team will look into easing up on this somehow in the future.

Thanks for the reply, With new Skirmish armor being as good as it is a lot of the niche pieces no longer have value. Due to it being a "Stepping stone" for new and returning players to catch up on content I'd eliminate the rank requirements to obtain this gear to help others. Or introduce more benefits to having Rank8 coalitions such as a unique Battlefield Fight Key Item or a line of quests to encourage people to keep these at max rank.

Apologies for the bump, but I have some information to share on this topic.

We’ve been noticing that there is definitely a bias towards particular coalitions, and we are looking into making some type of adjustment to ease this. However, simply adding rewards or modifying the values for coalition rank increases could result in the same issue repeating itself in the future, so instead, we would like to look into a new system where coalition ranks can be increased and maintained by a smaller number of players.

We’ll keep you posted on any developments!

It would be nice if completing an assignment in any coalition gave a smaller bonus to rank for all other coalitions. That way, people can still spam whichever the most rewarding but the ignored coalitions will have a chance to rank up, albeit slowly.

If something like Peacekeeper or Mummer is not at capped rank, give some sort of significant multiplier bonus that is higher than Support: Kamihr from the Courier Coalition. Since that one is worth 4,750/8,550/11,400, if another coalition assignment was worth 6,000/10,800/14,400 or something like that, it would give people incentive to do the uncapped Coalition. Or something like H-P Bayld as a reward. Whatever it takes to give people an actual reason outside of altruism.

Thank you for the bump, Here on Cerb Peacekeepers hasn't been max rank in 5-6 months, as well as a couple others. Hope you guys figure something out.

Fix mummers, lowest ranks are too hard, you need to remove item level to get tp move to land, also the most mobs get a long walking time. They did remove penalty on couriers so you don't lost key items anymore but on mummers lost article doesn't show on widescan, they could add that to widescan, low the difficult on tp move or add more lost articles to the areas instead of just 1

With Trust weapons/armor being as easy to get as they are, Coalition Gear has lost it's place as the go-to, high level, entry equipment. Face it, Coalition items require more of a grind to get, so many will see it as not worth it. I'd like to see the Coalition rank 8 stuff improved upon, maybe make it iLVL 118 or 119, improve a little the bonus from augs, and give people a reason to want to get it again.

Using the feedback we received in regards to coalitions, we're looking into adjustments that'll either make it easier to rank up, or make it harder to rank down.

We're currently working out the amount of resources it will require to make these adjustments, so we ask for your patience a bit longer before we announce the adjustment details.

Can you just remove the decay altogether? Mummer's is down to 4 on Carbuncle, and losing bits of a building every week doesn't add anything meaningful or fun.

Could you guys increase the experience/bayld gains from Coalitions that aren't fully ranked or in danger of ranking down? This way people trying to level characters or get bayld are more likely to do something other than Courier's all the time, but it would balance itself to prevent future problems.

Yes, I think the key is to give people an incentive to do the less popular coalition assignments. Some sort of significant reward that competes with the 4750/8550/11400 Bayld from Support: Kamihr (especially considering how quickly and painlessly this one can be done).

As I mentioned in my previous post, the development team has been looking into adjustments for coalitions, and they are planning to make the following adjustments in the next version update.

• It will become harder for coalitions to rank down.

• It will become easier for coalitions to rank up.

• Modifications will be made to the rewards associated with coalitions.

After these adjustments, we'll observe the outcome and plan further adjustments for November's version update if they are necessary.

These adjustments have been planned with the long term in mind, so please be patient while we finalize everything.
