how about this idea, instanced battlefields such as mission fights, salvage and assaults set up so others from other worlds can join you or you can join them thus making it less difficult to finish certain fights
of course there would have to be a NPC for it but still, it could work
how about it?

That's never gonna happen. Blizzard can do certain things cause they make so much money from WoW but most other companies can't do stuff like that.

this was not about WoW, they do it for dungeons, as far as I know its not for anything else, and no I dont want to see this game turn into WoW, I hate WoW, just because WoW does this for certain things does not mean that is what I had in mind, dont compare this idea to blizzard BS, its still an idea that CAN work if done right, dont shoot it down just because something like it is done in WoW, WoW sucks and most people know it

Instances are a good thing.. it has nothing to do with being like WoW..
It has everything to do with not wasting server power...
why have up a bunch of bcnm / enm / isnm / scnm / mission / moblin maze / etc zones all running and taking server power when nobody is in them...
An instance dynamically creates a zone whenever somebody is ready to use that content... and also it doesnt place a limit on the number of people who can do the content at once....
Im sure people hated standing in line for hours to do Fiat Lux and I've been locked out of moblin maze for hours before because of overcrowding.
Instances save processing power and relieve congestion created by having static zones always running...
However, I don't believe it is within the dev teams capacity to change ffxi to support instances...
Instances are good... but not practical for ffxi :\ -

instances are not possible in the sense that they are in WoW, i've covered this many, many times before. If you really want the explanation, ask for it, but i'll only give the short version here. They would have to totally overhaul a lot of serverside code in particular to allow for stuff like that. The existing "instancing" in the game is not really instancing, its specially designed areas with multiple copies of the terrain out of shout distance of eachtoher. One group can occupy each such area, and if they're all in use, no one else can enter.

Calling an idea stupid because it's in WoW is stupid in itself.
Maybe we haven't noticed but XI is in a transitional phase and XIV is on life support. Any ideas that can be poached from other successful MMOs would be in our benefit as well as SEs. Only a fool dismisses an idea cause "lol its from WoW".
Anywho... the only practical application in XI would be for PVP which is non-existent. The point of server PvE content is to team up with other people on your server to complete said content. While it'd be convenient, nothing currently in XI calls for it. -
