To coincide with the August version update, Producer Akihiko Matsui held another "Freshly Picked Vana'diel" to go over some of the new content and discuss other topics pertinent to adventuring. Below is a digest of what was discussed.

Seekers of Adoulin Missions

The final chapter is rapidly approaching as the tension between those who support colonization and those who are against it reaches its max and a new threat emerges. Please be sure to check it out.

Additionally, due to a bug in the past, there were cases where it was possible to obtain two mission rewards, but in order to make it fair, we decided to make it so you exchange it for the mission rewards that were added in the August version update.

Alluvion Skirmishes Part 1

We added new battle content known as "alluvion skirmishes."

Alluvion skirmishes are content where the map layout and monster placement varies each time you challenge it. However, it's not completely random, and depending on how you organize the five new types of simulacrum segments there are certain patterns, so it's possible to form strategies based on the segments you select.

Additionally, depending on the type of simulacrum segment, special monsters will spawn that affect the entire skirmish. These special monsters will affect players by giving two types of positive and negative effects, and depending on your job you'll be able to gain an edge by using these special effects. We hope you have fun organizing parties to go along with the types of simulacrum segments you possess.

Alluvion Skirmishes Part 2

The video introduces equipment enhancements with in-game footage.

The boss on each floor of alluvion skirmishes drops equipment.

It's possible to engrave arcane glyptics on this equipment with an item that you receive as an individual reward through alluvion skirmishes, and with this you'll be able to augment your equipment with various stats and special properties.

Depending on the type of enhancement item, there are different types of stats and special properties that can be added, and we've made it so it's easier to tailor your enhancements to your job.

• Addition of new alter egos
  We added Klara, Romaa Mihgo, Excenmille [S], and Rainemard to the array of alter egos.
  
  Klara is an orthodox melee fighter alter ego that can also use a special weapon skill. Romaa Mihgo can use Trick Attack if you get her in the right position to help you keep hate on your target. Excenmille [S] is the child version of Excenmille from the Shadowreign Era. Please note that it's not possible to summon both Excenmilles at the same time.

• Summoning alter egos
  It's now possible to summon alter egos after entering seal battlefields.

• Addition of a "Trust" category to the action menu
  Since the amount of Trust spells have increased, we created a separate magic list.

Job Adjustments Part 1

  We added the "Max HP Boost" job trait to jobs that have a high frequency of being targeted by monsters.

• "Enmity+" cap increase
  To coincide with the addition of Crusade that increases enmity, we increased the maximum value for the "Enmity+" effect from equipment and spells.

Job Adjustments Part 2

• Paladin
  We added cumulative enmity increases when using certain abilities, and made it easier to maintain hate on your target.

• Dark knight
  We decreased the casting time of absorb-type spells to better fit the current quicker battle pace.

• Dragoon
  We increased wyvern physical and magical defense, as well as boosted their resistance against AoE attacks. Additionally, by increasing their Subtle Blow effect, it should no longer be disadvantageous to have your wyvern out and attacking.
  
  Furthermore, the visual effects accompanying the use of wyvern breath are no longer displayed.

Job Adjustments Part 3

  Physical blue magic spells can now receive effects from Chaos Roll and other things that affect physical attack.

• Puppetmaster
  We made adjustments to automaton weapon skill stats to coincide with the revamps made to player weapon skills.

• Geomancer
  We increased the effects of certain geomancy spells. We had originally toned down the strength of geomancy spell effects as they could not be dispelled or resisted; however, looking into battle balance once again we decided to increase their stats.

We added two new job point categories for each of the 22 jobs.

In regards to blue mage's "Learning Chance" category, based on feedback that we have been receiving we will be revamping this category and the effect will be changed in the September version update.

In the event you place job points into this category between now and the September version update, the same amount of job points will automatically carry over into the changed category in September.

Equipment Set Feature

We added a new feature known as "Equipment Sets" that allows you to simultaneously change all of your equipment at once.

You can combine equipment just like you would via the normal equipment window and save up to 20 sets.

We are planning to expand the number of sets that can be saved to 100 after the next version update.

• Introduction of the Warp Ring
  We added the new warp ring as another means for returning to your home point. With this item you can easily get around as much as you want even at the lower levels.
  
  Additionally, we improved the usage of warp cudgels to maintain their value.

• Ability to change the title screen music
  We made it so it's possible to select different music for the title screen based on the expansions that you have installed.
  
  The option furthest to the right will pick a song at random each time.

• Sunbreeze Festival
  The Sunbreeze Festival is currently underway and you can obtain a special happi with a moogle design on the back. You can also obtain the Mumor alter ego as well, so please enjoy the festival as well as these special rewards!

• Mog Garden Campaign
  We'll be holding a Mog Garden Campaign that begins on Friday, August 22. This time around we'll be doubling the items you can earn through monster rearing.

• Double Capacity Point Campaign
  On Friday, August 29 we'll be kicking off the Double Capacity Point Campaign. Please be sure not to miss out on this opportunity to save up points for the new enhancement categories that were added in the August version update!

• Welcome Back Campaign
  Starting on Friday, September 12 we'll be holding a Welcome Back Campaign. Players that are taking a break will be able to return to Vana'diel and adventure again.

We're planning a lot of other campaigns, so please stay tuned for more information!

Additionally, we've been receiving feedback asking for campaigns to take place on the weekdays as well, so we will be looking into the days in which we hold these campaigns.

September Version Update Preview

• Wings of the Goddess post-mission quests
  We'll be adding post-mission quests for Wings of the Goddess as well as a quest for the new Atomos avatar.

• New high-level content
  We'll be adding new content geared towards the higher level players that you can challenge with 6-18 players.

• High-tier Walk of Echoes
  We'll be adding a high-tier version of Walk of Echoes geared towards players who have procured equipment with item levels. The monsters will be powerful, but in exchange you'll be able to obtain equipment with item levels as a reward.

• Sub-linkshell system
  We're currently looking into a system that will allow you to simultaneously equip multiple linkshells. Additionally, we will be looking into features to foster the development of the community.

• Monster rearing
  We'll be making it possible to raise new types of monsters.
