Proposal for our new Feline Friend Cait Sith

Cait Sith

Hello guys, so now that we know what Cait Sith is bringing to the table with their bloodpacts I wanted to adjust this thread in the hopes that SE will delay her release to at-least polish her into a more acceptable level.

Proposed Attributes

1. Elemental Affinity: Light
2. Elemental Frailty: Darkness
3. Avatar's Favor: Regain (1TP/Tick~4TP/Tick)
4. Passive Trait: Critical Attack Bonus
5. Melee Delay: 180 (4TP/Hit)
6. Attack: Low
7. Defense: Low
8. Accuracy: High
9. Evasion: High

Proposed Perpetuation Costs

1. Initial Summoning: 15MP
2. Level 1: 2MP/Tick
3. Level 9: 3MP/Tick
4. Level 18: 4MP/Tick
5. Level 27: 5MP/Tick
6. Level 37: 6MP/Tick
7. Level 46: 7MP/Tick
8. Level 55: 8MP/Tick
9. Level 64: 9MP/Tick
10. Level 67: 10MP/Tick

1. Altana's Favor: Grants the effects of Arise and Reraise III to party members within the area of effect.

3. Starfall: evokes a flurry of star from the heavens to deal light damage to an enemy, has an additional effect of defense & evasion down. (Similar to the stars used by trial moogles.)

4. Seraphic Purring: Revives a K.O target, or if used on a living target provides them with Reraise.

Unfortunately this seems to be her Astral Flow ability based on her fight in the "Distorter of Time"; however, it doesn't mean that it would be weak just more random.

Cait Sith will work just like your other traditional avatars (i.e. not like Odin and Alexander!) and they will fight alongside players after they're summoned. We can't get into specifics right now, but we'll announce them later for sure!

Thanks for the reconfirmation, are the devs planning on releasing another video for Cait Sith?

I'm trying to think of a reasonably awful Avatar's Favor effect that Cait Sith will give us, since I assume they will have a terrible favor.

I think I'm going to go with "Enhances Skillchain Accuracy"..

I'd love cait sith to have utility blood pact wards, sneak and invisiblega, retracega. In the WoTG cait teleports around and makes herself invisible so I don't think it would be too farfetched.

Cait just better not have the same kind if BPs like Titan where unless it was Stone it had the same debuff with single or aoe attack attached to it.

This is hands down the worst idea I have ever seen for an avatar.

You want an avatar that does little to no damage and has a slew of BP wards that will end up serving virtually no purpose.

I want an avatar that does not suck. It should be damage oriented with no crap random damage abilities. I am not looking for another Carbuncle/Diabolos/Fenrir where their damage is shitty but supposedly they make up for it with special traits that are in reality totally worthless.

I want a level 99 Avatar with a list of BPs that are balanced and useful at 99, not BPs that are good for levels 1-69 but end up sucking after level 70.

There's really a large list of things she could do that would just be really helpful. All we can do is hope that whatever she has, it isn't garbage.

and on this note i think the other bp: wards should be adjusted to be more endgame friendly, big example being Noctoshield which STILL at 99 only grants a 13 dmg Phalanx

RDM is capped at 35, I will say for sure that SMN should cap at 25~30, not 13(though I do not think it should beat RDM's Phalanx in the end either).

Making everything else weaker will not make RDM more desirable, unfortunately. What else does SMN have going for it anyways? And unless SE suddenly breaks from their 11-year history of botching everything, Cait Sith will not be a functional avatar until at least mid 2015. Similarly, RUN is just now getting changes to make them tanks.

What about making cute looking cat Cait Sith an trust npc that could be used in that sorta of way but maybe this one of the few npc's that become trust npc's that could harbor some benefits into walk of echo's stuff as well. I suppose that could work in a summoners pet of her in that sort of way as well. I would include the way she speaks when spoken to us as well upon being summoned or attacking as well. :confused: :rolleyes: :cool: :)

I adjusted the thread to incorporate the revealed Bloodpacts that SE is adding to Cait Sith.

This is what Summoners really need from Cait Sith I think they should delay her and just add some of this type of stuff.

good lord i hope they see that, what cait is right now is so...bleh at best. Feels like it was thrown together with phoenix ideas and this is what we get...a half baked rarely gonna be used new summon that i dont even know if il bother getting.

I have made major adjustments to the thread I don't believe she is underpowered anymore in this idea, and I would really support these adjustments for her.

Well If its to help back up the whm job with the raising of the fallen warriors Quickly, then I get this about Cait Sith and her abilities or her raising capabilities. LOL

But she won't be able to help the White Mage because she has no healing bloodpacts, so in theory she's even more useless than Carbuncle and will only be used as a raise spell, I don't mind if they make her support based like Carbuncle, but atleast add worthwhile bloodpacts no reason to waste 2 bloodpact slots with raise and reraise when they could combine the effects into one bloodpact.
