FFXI PS VITA!!!

Can you please finish ffxi for psvita! I loved the idea when I first read about it, and am STILL waiting!

That would actually be pretty awesome.

I mean I'm not saying I would be playing the game while I'm at work or anything of the sort, but it would be nice to be able to access it when work got too boring and I needed a break... I mean not at work, the commute, well, not like I would be playing while driving, but it would be nice, yep. Very nice indeed. <_<;

Most high end phones could run FFXI, too. I can see it now "Windower For Android".

A screen that size, and no keyboard? That's ridiculous. And the Vita hypothesis was definitively dismissed by Square-Enix, wasn't it?

Not really they added a KB option with the ps2 and xbox in the files. You don't tech need a KB its just faster then use the joysticks

FFXIV is getting the game streamed onto the vita from the PS4, wish that was an option for FFXI. :( Maybe have the PC version stream to the vita with new software somehow.

Would the Vita's screen be able to display FFXI's menus at a readable size and still have the gameplay visible? I don't have a Vita, so maybe it could.

As someone who originally used the onscreen keyboard on PS2, I think that unwieldy abomination of a keyboard is the biggest reason the game should never be on a portable system.

they could trunk the menus or simplify them, like turn them into 3 pages instead of 2, it wouldnt be a direct port, the resolution wouldnt work, they could find a way, they have final fantasy 7 on there and all other games from console, so if they can do it with those then i don't see the difference for XI.

I would love this, as a Vita owner, it'd allow me to play FFXI more conveniently. But I do believe that Square stated they had no plans to release it on the Vita. Not sure why, guess it didn't seem worthwhile to them.

The Vita has a touch screen, and so do most android phones. It wouldn't be like on the PS2 at all.

"While you might not see the difference, I am pretty sure most others here do." - so um who is these "others", so far Ive seen no one back your claim that it couldnt run on Vita, quite the opposite actually, Vita runs FFX and FFX-2 in full HD, your argument is invalid. As for android, the touch screen dosnt react on most emus so it wouldn't be an issue, and if you check the specs on most phones, you technically could run 11 on most smart/super phones.

If they release it on Vita, I hope it mentions that in the player /check, 'cause I'm not having Vita players in my end game alliances. ;)

This game requires quick action and good communication with a REAL keyboard, cause you have to talk sometimes y'know.

Depends what you mean by end game, and really communication depends on what job you are and what exactly is needing to be done, I mean, I can be a GEO in Delve without saying a word, in fact, I never say anything when in Delve as GEO, or RDM, or really any job I have went as simply because what I need or what I need to do goes without saying, about the largest communication I have to have in there is 'who Blinded Tute before me? -_- let me know when it wears...' and 'what spells is the other GEO doing?' besides that my communication is fairly low.

Yup, and while you had your hands all over the touch screen trying to type that with the on screen keyboard, one of your LS members asked you for something and you never saw it.

I never said it was perfect, but that also isn't something to condemn it by, I mean those questions are literally the only two important things I have ever needed to say or ask in a Delve run after I understood my job as RDM and GEO, and those questions can both be done without simply by looking at my chat log and estimating the time it would take till Blind wears, and/or simply looking at what the other GEO does/casts and doing the opposite two spells. Yes, there are issues, but hardly impossible to solve or impossible to deal with.

you do know people play on xbox 360 and never touch a keyboard right? and all they have is either that tiny handheld junk or the on screen? Works fine for tons of people, all you need is to be able to read the chat, don't need to respond.

Actually, I was having the FF7 example in mind when I said that i can see a difference. I don't doubt that the game could run on a Vita, but I doubt that any sort of development for a Vita version ever started.

I agree with you there.

It would be cool if they just let us check our mog houses/AH etc even - maybe do some crafting. Doubt it would happen but it would actually get me to buy a Vita

We need ffxi on the go, as well as at home. Point blank.

Any news on a portable ffxi yet SE!?!

Would still like to see a Vita version of XI, if u've played ragnarok odyssey it uses a virtual keyboard for online that works quite well and i would love nothing more to see FFXI on my playstation trophy list ^^

Still hoping for them to release it!
