Healing Blue Magic spells

Can we have the following spells adjusted so that they use "Blue Magic Skill" instead of "Healing Magic Skill" in their formulas?

-Pollen
-Wild Carrot
-Magic Fruit
-Healing Breeze
-Plenilune Embrace


It doesn't make much sense that these spells have a skill modifier for a skill we do not have. Doing so will increase the overall efficacy of Blue Mage's curing capabilities which have pretty much fallen to the wayside in Adoulin since mobs hit so hard, it's difficult to keep up without relying heavily on Bloodrake and Sanguine Blade.

I agree with this request, though I do enjoy how healing skill adds a decent reason to sub certain jobs like whm, rdm, and sch. It still does not make sense, so it makes best sense for OP's request.

oh and speaking of blu spells, I wonder if they will ever fix Tourbillion/Barbed Crescent after they said they would look into it. According to BGwiki they are still broke.

Also would like more blu points to spend on spells :)

I only ever saw the healing magic skill effecting them as a bonus. but yea /sch with light arts and you got awesome healing skills. But also blu is not a healer so i doubt they would try to make them more potent ect... or they might suggest to you to try /dnc for better heals i dunno lol. they like to tell us to experiment and play with different job combos and strats!

It's not a bonus from healing magic skill. They pretty much copy/pasted the white magic Cure formula into those spells. Even with those changes, Blue Mage wouldn't be a healer. They would have the same utility they always have which allows them to heal content that's not dangerous or during EXP groups. They have potent single target cures but they don't have near the utility, mp conservation or group damage mitigation of WHM, RDM or SCH.

While they are at it, they need to add BLU to cure potency gear that the other mages are on. Weird we can wear Serpentes but can't wear Heka's.

What i mean by bonus is they didnt say, lets make healing magic the only thing that increases the potency and then put healin magic skill on armors for blu (like AF). dont most of them get beneifit of a stat like mnd or chr ? most spells are effected by a stat like str dex int, that would be the main stat. a bonus is healin skill. I dunno i used to blu/sch to campaing back in the 75 days and outperform soo many blus there, i never ran out of mp cause of darkarts aspirs and mp drains and curing was crazy with light arts healing bonuses.

I agree bout the mage gears blu are left out on. Also like to see more of that mab gear too. or staves like magian ones (although item level stuff is prolly better than most of these you would use them for except the cure staff maybe nowadays.)

They are affected by MND to a much lesser degree, but healing magic is a huge factor in the calculation. I assume these cures have a hard cap so I don't see the harm in making it calculate Blue Magic instead of Healing Magic.

OR both really but how many peices of blue magic skill gear are there compared to healing skill (or at least somewhat easy to obtain stuff). I think there is a lot more healing stuff out there so changin to blue skill might end up not being as great (granted you have alot of skill just being blu compared to needing the right subs to have healing naturally without gear.)

Not that many pieces honestly. [List of gear with Healing Magic that Blue Mage can equip] And all it really does is crowd your inventory with gear that has no other purpose. Blue Magic skill has more skill pieces and you'll be more likely to use them in other sets.

I don't really mind that it utilizes healing magic skill, what bothers me more is how limited they are in terms of how they can be used. Only being able to target party members is incredibly restrictive, it means even a Blue Mage with an amazing healing set could never ever be considered as a main healer, which totally defeats the point of being the most versatile job in the game. Most people just see BLU as a sub par DD class/stun spammer anyway, which is not what it's supposed to be.

It would be nice if we had another spell like plenilune but with a significantly better buff added to it. Cure 5 effect with added cocoon or enmity boost to cured ally. Something...

i would be allready happy if they would add some BLU cure potency + ilvl gear... as it stands all cure potency pieces are below lvl 99...

There's Tamaxchi, and that cape which name I forget. I think BLU has access to a few of the mage gears as well, I'm sure some of them have cure potency. Wetherspoons cuffs (I think) has it, or some other gloves.

the tamaxchi is a club that has 22% cure potency and unless somthing has changed cure potency maxes out at that, but the are some ways to get to that like stated earlier there is weatherspoon gloves which are 8% cure potency, there is the cape that i cant remember the name of but i has 4% cure potency and there is the sword galenus which has 10% cure potency on it and those are the three i use in my healing set. i also sub sch alot so the healing magic boost from light arts is amazing.

I agree BLU should be added to more of the "Cure" potency pieces. It has native "Cure" healing abilities, unlike jobs like BLM BRD SMN PUP and GEO which end up on all of them. I see why they are on it, but it doesn't change the fact it requires a support job to even use it. I don't see why a job that has native "Cure" spells, isn't first thought in the process. BLU's ability to deal damage isn't an excuse not to. (BLM SMN PUP GEO say hi)

I don't see them needing to be on Gendewitha but at least they should be on the Bokwus set and equip Nefer/Heka's Kalasiris.

It's really not too difficult to get a decent magic fruit/plenilune when using cure pot receive as well as pot give. Phalaina locket, Oretania's cape, Chuq'aba Belt, Praeco slacks, Buremte Gloves, and tamaxchi w/a few other mnd pieces can easily cure for near 1000s. Of course, who holds on to a tamaxchi unless blu burning/nuking?

I'd like to see a future healing spell that derives cure potency from blue magic skill as well as have a very fast casting speed. How fast? Faster than or as fast as Tem. Upheaval.

Has anyone tested how high we can cure with white wind with all the new HP+ gear? Just curious...

It is less about difficulty in obtaining a decent solo cure self build and more about accessibility/inventory consolidation/curing others. Not having to carry more small pieces of cure potency to make up for very easily being on big pieces like Bokwus and Heka's. There's no legitimate reason not to add BLU to higher potency pieces. If reaching cure potency cap was a solid reason not to add jobs to natively heal to gear, there would be no need to add "Cure potency" in Adoulin gear.
