Hurkan battle ripoff

Ok so I entered wildskeeper reive against the new NM "Yumcax" (tree in Yorcia Weald), and he was at 80%-ish so I worked my hardest at geomancing and debuffing him to death with everyone else, and all I got was a Petrified Log and cleared key item! I have seriously been ripped off of my 65K bayld. :mad:

what happened to these items?:


Tamaxchi
Ixtab
Pahtli Cape
Ocachi Gorget
Buremte Hat
Buremte Gloves

Lots of stuff I won't use but one or two that I was interested in, and got a log. :(

Don't worry, you would've only gotten a Gorget/Cape anyways like 85% of the rest of the players around you.

Then you would do the fight again, and just get another Gorget/Cape. Rinse and repeat.



Seriously SE, why the hell did you feel the need to incorporate VW-esque drop rates for these new Wildskeeper fights? Because it's absolute bullshit. I already know players who have done Hurkan 5-6 times and still haven't gotten anything other than that Bullet/Grip. Also it seems players who enter the arena when the boss is under 50% health don't receive proper evaluations or ANY rewards. While I like the idea of pushing players to try to enter the arena sooner rather than later (a plague of all the past Wildskeeper reives), you're still just ripping unsuspecting players off and pushing away reinforcements.

The drop system is just complete, utter bullshit. Depending on people's interest, they may only have 1-2 pieces they really want from a Wildskeeper, similar to the last 3 Wildskeepers. The last 3 Wildskeepers though had loot pools that only had 4-5 items in them and each had an even chance of dropping. It worked out fine for the most part (granted there's still horror stories of never getting that one specific drop you want).

But Yumcax and Hurkan have had two accessories added to their loot pools. These accessories, while not terrible, really don't compare to the equipment/weapons and they drop far far far far far too commonly.


I'm sorry, Idk what to really say since I'm just venting. Can we just have Delve II already? You see, one of the main reasons why Delve was so praised was that players could see the light at the end of the tunnel; they could see their rewards, not being limited by the damn random number generator. In Delve, effort was rewarded and it was purely awesome. In these new Wildskeeper reives, effort is hardly rewarded. You can be working your ass off, you may not even be receiving evaluations anymore (they seem to cap at 25k Bayld total in the new Wildskeepers, which is also dumb), yet the person hiding in the corner who's done hardly anything but stand around the entire fight gets the equipment you're after.

It's VW all over again. And it sucks.

I would have been well maybe not happy, I would have been okay with obtaining the bullet from Hurkan... but I got the grip. After hours of doing reieves in the same zone with the hopes of obtaining a cape. I usually try to look on the bright side of things but it's hard to find something positive out of this experience, because I was not able to say well at least I obtained bayld, because I left with less than I started, I didn't get any skillups, because you can't in any rieves... and I didn't get any exp because the amount I obtained cancelled out the amount I lost. While the naakul fight itself was pretty fun, the wall bashing to get there outweighs the battle itself :/

Edit: I wrote this before I discovered the "order up" quest, which I think is a great idea. I was very happy to discover I could select the one item I really wanted from the first 3 Naakul's. It will be a tough choice after I beat the 5th one which to pick from the most recent two.

I hope there will be some good reason to have the crest key items at least.

We did this fight last night, lasted 100 minutes. Thanks to event organizers and the nice job they did in coordinating 150 players, most of us who had not done this run before. Fight was flawless, had 3 deaths the entire fight and at the end I got the scythe I was hoping for. Wish I knew your names to thank you individually.

Yeah I just did 3 Hurkaans with me and my mule. Fought each one from 100% down to dead no dcs. All I have to show for it is grip on my main and bullet on my mule. Is this a glitch or something because that's kinda messed up

There is, having all 3 older KI's lets you pick a single item that drops from the old Naakual's and having both newer KI's lets you pick a single item from Hurkan or Yumcax. The quest is bugged for some(including me) depending on where you are in certain quests but SE and the Dev's are aware of the bug.

Just fought Hurkan tonight on both of my chars and got 36 xp/bayld and no reward other than KI. Something's definitely up with this fight.

Just got nothing but a Darksteel Ore from Hurkan. :\ Did it once before but sent the Bullet I got to a mule. So it wasn't the same thing dropping that caused me to get nothing...

Do this quest and yeah, pick an item , but you have to have completed each of the 3 original WK reives first.

It's a one time thing that you receive when you talk the mithra NPC in the memorial library. And after you have all 5 naakual KI's, you talk to the NPC again for another KI which reduces XP loss in Reives.

Can we just have the two KI from new wild skeeper to pick the new drops? Or do we need all 5? And where is the library? Thanks for your help

Went into Hurkan when he was about 45%. I could not get evaluations no matter what I did (one really tiny one in the beginning) so 60k Bayld and 2 hours of my time for nothing.

Will some one please let us know why this is happening? I'm afraid to go to Wildskeeper Rieves now.

The better lewt has a higher percentile drop rate frpom beating the boss in the fractures i do believe... If its a community event like wildskeepers rieves are, why would they give you the most powerful items all the time if you get the KI for farming plasm for it?

What are you talking about?

Just to throw a little more detail, I did 3 wildskeeper reives this weekend, each with 2 characters. This was the only battle that glitched, and it was glitched for both chars.

However, both chars got the exact same loot rewards from the other 2 battles which just seems odd. Unless the neck from the tree and the dagger from the shark are the common "Ha! Ha!" rewards.

You need all 5.

It's a really awesome quest; however, I really hope that it could be repeatable somehow. Once per conquest tally I think would be great. If this quest were repeatable, there would be a huge incentive for players to go back and kill all the three old Naakuals again, which in turn would help out new players and probably colonization efforts somewhat in the old zones too.

It's wishful thinking but makes sense to me. It'd be similar to Delve in that you can get rewards from killing the NMs but can also choose/buy your reward from an NPC after killing said NM.

Edit: The Library is right by the Scout's coalition in Eastern Adoulin. You need the Library Card KI, which you can buy from the galka inside the Scout's Coalition for 1000 Bayld. Once inside you need to talk to a mithra named Reja somethin and complete her quest. There's a link at the top of this page for the quest I believe.

Agreed, it still takes a lot of time to get enough bayld to fight all of each tier over again, but with the ability to select 1 reward each time you clear a set of two or three naakuls, would both make it worthwhile to repeat and also help people who need their first win.

If this is intentional to prevent people from joining at 10% and getting drops, there should at least be a warning so you don't expend your entry key item needlessly, or you shouldn't be allowed to enter at all. If it is unintentional then thanks for looking into it.

For some reason I am stuck with jozhud nor palmeo talking to me for the quest >.> I don't have the other quests even started that interfere with this one order up ><;; my mules got the right dialog all I get from jozhud is something about mawgwet's and palemo comments about scouts and stealth ugh......

I got ziltch from the harkun fight enter at 39% and couldn't get xp or bayld no matter what just 55k * 3 toons down the drain.....

Thank you for responding. If I might ask, since this is an issue which has effected many people, and the cost of which one must pay to enter these events is worth a nice bit of work, will any compensation be given to players? I understand you may not give a for of compensation to individual players who ask and such, but a form of compensation to players I think would go a long way in making players happy, rather than leaving us feel ripped off from such an occurrence, especially when it was an error many of us walked into unknowingly.

Thank you for your helpful input, but what are people supposed to do whilst you're investigating?

I entered the fight @ 99% hp as a PLD tanked thw whole fight down, got nothing at all not even bayld return. I contacted a GM they said they won't issue any return of bayld or items at all because it is against policy; but he DID confirm it was a glitch in the game and I did nothing wrong......

Later I received an email from SE stating

"Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.
This email has been sent to notify you that your ticket was received and will be responded to within 2 business days (48 hours) of receipt.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay in responding to your ticket directly."


It has been over 3 days since I have gotten that email. (3x24=72? =/=48)

To Raksha, No, like said above the GM will do nothing, apparently they are of no use at all.

Earlier today I spoke with customer support and they said they can do nothing about the issue contact a GM in game to check on the status.

I sent a message to the GM help desk at 1700 my time. it is now 2149 and still no response.

SE seems to just be ignoring people with this issue now.

This was clearly intended for those that rush in and blow their bayld. They then expect them to farm like everyone else for weeks on end.

so on my way to wildskeeper and my last few empty inventory spaces filled up with crystals from stuff ppl where killing on the way annnnd no loot, my own fault i know but still kinda annoying, best 95k bayld ever

Heck no you can't.

I've lost my Wildskeeper Reive status after DC'ing during Hurkan (Mind you I'm very casual and it took me quite some time to gather 75k bayld), and could not log back in until the next day. When I WAS able to log in, I stayed in the battle area for Hurkan for 2 days (not literal play time, but when I COULD log in) while waiting on a GM to respond to me, thinking that since I didn't have the Key Item for winning, and that I had not left the area, it would provide enough evidence for me to get a refund. The GM told me he could absolutely NOT refund bayld or the key item, NOR could he simply just turn my reive status back on, as another Hurkan battle was going on when he finally showed up. He said that the engineering team could possibly help me out, but that it would be a matter of weeks to get it resolved. So I elected to zone out and try my best at gathering the bayld again.

Hope that helps...lol

Really really need to do something for peeps in the middle of wildskeepers that get shut down in the middle of for emergency maintenance. Not cool to lose out on all that bayld with no recourse....

We have confirmed this issue to be a bug and it has been addressed in the version update that took place this morning.

While I'm glad to see they fixed it NOW, it still means that I wasted 65K bayld that I am far from earning back to fight the next new Wildskeeper NM. :'-(
