Also a ba-dum-tiss!
That's another good idea.
I mean this would be really cool... but does anyone play with sound un-muted anymore? I'm sure some of you do, but alot of the playerbase has muted ffxi these days.
I did like it though, it would be neat, but I play muted, I'm -sick- of random people using <call> (THAT LOUD G*D D*MN WHISTLE UGH).
I play with FFXI's sounds turned down to 10%,so I'd barely hear calls and sound effects through my music.
Speaking of calls... I wonder if they are ever going to let us change the sound on them like they said a few months or a year ago...
Yeah, that stuff was horrible on XP when you'd turn down the ingame audio and suddenly a call pierced through your skull like a slugwinder. Good thing you can turn down the entire game in vista and later, though.
Or you can just turn it down in-game in the Config menus.
Right now you can not turn down calls, even if you turn all other things to 0, calls will still play normally, unless something was changed recently, which I doubt.
I just hate how POL viewer volume is crazy high every time I launch it. Why does that have a separate volume level from the rest of the game and why can't it ever stay the way I want it?
PS. the OP is a great idea.
Sorry bro, calls are not affected by any of the ingame audio settings, which is what leads them to be extremely loud compared to other ffxi sounds if you turn these settings down ingame. That's kind of what this entire thread is about.
You can disable POL music in the external (not within POL viewer itself) config utility.
That's what I meant though, no in-game setting lets you change it, and even though they said they would add an option a while back, nothing has been said since or implemented, so unless you flat out mute the game in its entirety you can not avoid yells really.
