What is the underlying reason you do dynamis?

This is simply a poll.

I am curious as to why people do dynamis. Out all the myriad possible variety of answers, I'm looking to boil it down to two possible answers:

1. Cuz I like to do it.
2. Cuz I'm after armor/relic.

1. and 2. actually lol

Its fun! And relic...

Both. I love the atmosphere surrounding it and I really, REALLY want Apocalypse.

Agreed. It's some low-tech end game that is easily enjoyable for everyone. Plus you get the relic armors. It's a win-win situation.

I enjoy killing with my friends and I want to finish my excaliber (stage 3 at the moment)

I used to get laughed at for liking Dynamis, and I know they were totally right lol
I don't know what it was, I just liked doing it. I had so much fun, especially when things went horribly wrong or someone decided it was time to aggro the whole zone.

Cuz I like to do it.

I don't enjoy doing it, I guess I'm the only one. I still need some zone clears in it though and other than that I grab whatever AF relics I can. I never did Dynamis much in the past so I'm behind with it because of my lack of interest in it.

I do dynamis for gear and gil. You DO make a lot of gil from dynamis still. Though I'm not sure how it'll be affected once they do the dynamis revamp.

Even though people don't really have a need for gil because of abyssea, I still use it for leveling crafts. Currently got like cooking, bone, leather, and cloth at 92+ and most of them have all the GP items too.

It can be fun - especially since I just started doing it again after idk how long. At the moment it's also a chance for me to shine as sam (screw you atma of razed ruins :mad: ). And there are 3 things I really want from dynamis - Duelist's Chapeau -1, Shadow Ring and Shadow Mantle.

Don't find city runs much fun though. -.-

So yeah, my answer is a mixture of 1 and 2. :D

I'm one of the sickos that actually likes doing Dynamis. I've been waking up at 4am every monday for pretty much no gain for the last two years because it's interesting, and I like the group I go with.

Alright. I think I need to rephrase a bit. Say you had to choose one or the other. Which is more important to you? Would you do dynamis just for the heck of it even if you don't get anything out of it?

Well under that modus, I could ask: "Why do you play?"
And alter it with: "Assuming you have everything you wanted, would you still play, and Why?"

Answer to both: I like the fights and the challenges, the rewards come as an added bonus.

Payouts #!. Relic #2. Dynamis is more of a snore with a full alli. Low-man prolly more fun...can't wait to try.

To answer this I have to say this 2 weeks ago I entered Xarcabard with my low man ls, less than 18 members to the alliance. We cleaned every mob on our usual farming track with 30 mins to spare for exploration. We could have taken dynamis lord easily had we wanted to chance it. We found 2x Rdm hats, 4x blm hats, these 2 items for years have been the bane of our previously much larger dynamis ls with a list 16 people long and average droprate of one every 6 xarc runs. That is why I do dynamis now, to see those old monsters go away.

Only reason I still do dynamis is for the gil. There's a few relic pieces I could still use, but that's not my focus anymore. I don't find it all that enjoyable, just a way for me to make a lot of gil to fund my mythic, and eventually a relic.

I used to do dynamis because of my friends. I never found it much fun (it was so boring) and my interest in armor dropped off after about the first 6 months of doing dyna (basically after I got the pieces I was interested in). I quit doing dynamis once my friends were banned and after that the shell deteriorated... had it been a split/sell group I might have continued but getting a relic for some jerk I didn't even like was not high on my priority list.

For gear and for....dare I say it? For fun and glory!

I -did- it because I was farming a relic. Little did I know it'd be for naught ):.

(2). I just want the stuff. The update they're planning will help a lot-instead of the LS leadership getting all the coins(and their recent fixation on Abyssea), I can go in to dynamis with a friend or two anytime we want, fight on our own time, and farm up coins the same way one would farm anything else. Once I have Excalibur(and snag Atonement), I can think of what else I want to do. Probably +2 empyrean armor.

1) Its fun which boiled down to this: at 75 my SCH made a lot of BLMs look bad, and parsing my BLU against other members/friends was fun seeing which DD would be on top.
2) Armor for myself and others. I actually enjoy helping others as well as helping myself as long as it is fairly equal.

My favorite event. It's just fun to do it, plus it often pays nice (got over 500k on our best run for everyone), with TH6+ on mobs and easy targets can gets lots of money. And there's still the occasional piece that may be useful to some LS members.

I enjoy the group dynamics, the fun..lol the dying. My LS (what use to take 2 alliances now is done with 11-13) uses it for personal financial gain, but out of possible 8 runs a month 2 to 3 runs a month go to the two guys building relics and the other 5 or 6 goes to a bank shared by the group. We rotate thru the whole thing, cities, icelands, dreamlands. It seems to be a last frontier of the old world. Plus now we have people who need certain clears for trials.

I like it and there are some relic armor that I need(some armor pieces suck, but some are still important).

ive always liked doing dynamis, ive even shelled out the 500k out of my own pocket for a run that i just wanted 1 piece for, (blm hat finally after 6 years!). and even tho when i finally got my blm hat it was worthless cause i had emp blm+1 hat, it was still just getting that effen thing after so many years of chasing it.
now my mithra mannequin proudly wears it :D and i also managed to get lucky with my lots for RDM hat, yay!
