How bad will the servers be once ffxi is back up?

Everyone will be logging in at the same time, I hope it doesnt get too hard to log in!

Pifft! so many quit & left for other MMO so there will possibly be a low chance of sever lag

No different than after major updates. Actually easier since there is no software updates included.

population will be low for the first day or so, most other people are on other MMO's and some of Japanese's playerbase have lost their homes so who knows what the total population will be.

lol I doubt the population will be low at all. We NEED our fix!

I think its gonna be server lag the first hour its back up..

It'll be low for the first few hours at the min. but once word spreads population will pickup

Statistically, about 10 japanese FF11 players died during this earthquake+tsunami.

With 70000 homeless, that should be about 35 additional FF11 players who won't be able to log in.

Assuming FF11 players are evenly distributed all over the country.

I don't think that is going to make a very big impact on server population

I can tell you whats going to happen as soon as players log in... everyones going to either start shouting and or begin looking for members for Abyssea.. Abyssea is going to be extremely crowded I can almost see it already seeing as how SE has allowed all of us to gain traverse stones each day during this down time. Best thing to do is go level up a low level job, go do some Magian Trials... do a backflip.. etc.. <3

I have a feeling I'll be popular in the dunes... Level 20/10 smn/whm when Ut shut down :D

Abyssea is going to be... rather crowded. Everybody's going to have stones. (At least 10. People with 3 abyssites are going to have about 25 more, at least, than they had when they shut down.)

and there's me with my 502 T.stones last count...

Some will want to log in asap, many others won't have as much urge to log back in after quite a long break due to having other stuff to do now or being involved in other MMOs. Many others won't even know the servers are back online, quite a large number of players never check the net for FFXI information and possibly have no idea why the game is down so won't keep checking if the game is back up all the time. All that added to the situation for Japanese players.

Yeah the servers will be pretty quiet when they do put them back up, not as quiet as the FFXIV servers but still pretty slow.

All the crazies with foamy mouths and crazy expressions will get in first. Then the normal people will walk in to a hump fest of crazies and the norm thinking, "Why do I still play this game?"
