Now taking bets

Now taking bets on whether or not the servers are brought up tomorrow or if we see another extension with SE's "Wait and see" approach.

On an unrelated note, anyone else figure this was the death knell of FFXIV?

about. FFXIV Either they take this time to redesign the game or it is really becoming the first unsuccesful FF.
I hope they fix and take advantage of the great potential the game have, but knowing SE now a days.
I'll bet they are going to let the game die :s

I'm going to say it either comes back online tonight, or SE announces plans to re-locate the data center.

With regards to FFXIV I still think the PS3 version will be the last attempt to turn the game around. A new audience, and new excuse to re-market it.

I'm going to be the optimist and say will startup either tomorrow or next couple days. A lot of company's have started to resume business over past few days so here is hoping SE is one of them

Also i'd say the game is gonna be on, in around 2 weeks, right now they can afford to rush things. They will play safe i believe.

FFXI will be up today! it is tomorrow now in Japan! All reports say that buisnesses are up and running again, no reason why SE wont.

Back on topic, i do hope servers are back ASAP, but in the mean time, i´m changing my fix, to Monster Hunter o_o, tough its not the same playing on Xkai, (there´s no chat function), i´m hitting emotes all the time lol.

I'm getting news out of Japan a lot of companies Sony, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Subaru are starting up factories today this info from friend over there so no link to verify. But if this is true this is indeed encouraging news that maybe FFXI will be back on today.

Wednesday will probably be up. Next monday if not by then.
You know I am thinking when I get a new computer I want to get 14 to play on as well as 11. Since I am considering it, according to the 'Lemming Theory', there are lots more considering it as well so no I dont think its going to fail.

I say they will back up today. If all the car manufactures are up and running as of today, including sony as well. Then SE has no reason not to bring the servers back. IF for some reason they say they are going to extend the suspension for another week I am done with SE.

No one can say anything good about SE before this, and the way they handled themselves during this is absurd.

Here's to hoping for the best and saying 9:30 p.m. Est. they will be back online ^^

I really hope they turn FFXI back on today or tomorrow (hopefully today since its 22nd in japan now), if they dont I think alot of players will lose interest because theres no reason for SE to keep the servers off if car manufacturers are continuing as normal

SE's server farms for FFXI/FFXIV will use little to nothing in power compared to someone like Toyota making cars

Thank you. I have had it for years a JP player had made it years ago I translated it and been updating and changeing it as the game changes looks very little like original now back then was only 12 jobs ^^

There not most of the city of Tokyo is unaffected by rolling blackouts its mainly outlying areas. They need to get all factories up and running too asap to get there economy going again or another disaster could befall them

Another extension, probably at least a week, until the next evaluation. I think we're looking at another month, and then they start getting antsy as to whether they can feasibly (economically) restart.

XIV has been in gamma test anyway. This might well be the kibosh -- if not immediately upon restart, soon.

Yes sales wise they made a ton. It was the gameplay that a lot of people had a problem with (only completed 50% & had to stop). but all FF fans will always give their games a try & we just hope for future games they go back to a bit more traditional methods & slowly make the merge to a new gameplay style!!
