Void dust cool down period

This has probably been mentioned before...

Can we lower the timers to the same as abyssea. Waiting 12hrs for 1 stone is a joke and while being able to purchase dust is an option... it shouldn't be the only option.

This kind of content was designed to be spammable so allow it to be with faster re-stone times.

Do you mean Voidstones? Because Voiddust is only limited by how many conquest points/imperial standing/allied notes, you have.

I guess part of the reason for wanting faster restock is considering drop rates are insanely low on everything and you can crunch out 6 Qilins in like 20 minutes.. it seems a bit absurd to wait 12 hrs for just 1 stone.

I agree. With some unlucky people not getting the drop they want in hundreds and hundreds of kills, the voidstone re-stock rate is far too low. As the OP mentioned, you can spam dozens of VW mobs in a few short hours, using up weeks worth of stones.
If VW drop rates weren't so absolutely terrible, it wouldn't be that much of an issue.

Honestly I would rather them just fix VW. It gets worse and worse each day as less and less people do it. Right now its the only source of many items, mainly Plates, Cinder, Dross, Sand, and Mirrors. Once SoA releases later this week it will become even worse because many people will not do VW anymore thanks to the gear SoA contains as well as lack of being able to find people to actually do it with. This needs to be fixed, drop rates increased on all NMs, make all NMs start with capped lights like Prov, make cells drop at a higher rate than weapons as their own drops as well as letting you convert the drops themselves into cells if you do not want them so the cell supply is better and it gives a better chance at actually obtaining them over time to get the item.

Or Gil since it can be sold on the AH. They run about 20k a piece depending on the server.

This is quite low if you're trying to make money selling them from Conquest Points, Imperial Standing, Allied Notes, but if you're trying to crash the market so none are sold and you can't get any when you run out of Conquest Points, Imperial Standing, Allied Notes, and Voidstones yourself, feel free to ask for that.

At best you'd get an eight hour stone recharge time. Regardless of whether or not four less hours would crash a market or not, consider the following. The drop rate on a Heavy Metal Pouch is somewhere around 6% according to FFXIDB. Taking four six stone runs for about 480k Gil, even with some bad luck you'll probably get at least one Heavy Metal Pouch that you should be able to easily sell for at least that much, if not somewhere around 700~900k Gil, netting a small amount of Gil before any other drops are even accounted for.

The problem with stones comes from the need to spam the same NMs over and over again, if we did not need to fight mobs 200 times for a single drop we would not need more stones to begin with. I personally would rather them get rid of the extremely annoying drop rates they have right now and instead fix the stone problem by simply fixing VW's drop problem that creates it in the first place. If you did not need to fight the same NM hundreds of times for the drop you want then we would probably have stones stocking up way past what we need like with Abyssea, but instead we run dry often because of this need to spam them with no end in sight.

SE is so full of crap they wont ever fix Voidwatch ever! Next week SE think that cause they are going to let us use displacers on PW that its going to help WRONG. Ya more people might be able to kill PW but still doesn't change the fact that VW drop rates suck. Only thing I can hope for is that the new expansion has better gear than what comes from these Voidwatch NMs. SE should do their JOB and fix the main problem increase drop rate but that wont happen.

With regards to the allied notes points thing, sure as I said in my post that is another way to obtain them i didn't disregard that fact. As it has been pointed out it is not enough.

1. the damn dust doesnt even stack which is incredibly annoying if you want to bulk buy short answer is you cant.

2. The drop rates are poor and getting 1 pouch in 12 kills is highly unlikely. Today I have done 18 qilins with nothing 36 Ig-alima with 1 cinder. now assuming the price of dust is 20k ive made a whopping 20k by selling cinder for 1.1mil by my math....

Now if I had the option of faster stone restock I could be tempted to buy some dust / use existing stones to go to these runs and make a marginal profit. However I don't so... do i do VW that much any more because I don't like it? nope is it because its almost costing me money to actually do it??.. yep.

This is why VW is dead, when crour lost its value VW lost its value. It isn't (the majority of the time) worth a player doing for gil reliably.

As long as there are some mobs that are less popular but have the drop certain players want we'll always take issue to low drop rates. For example, Rubeus Spats and their low drop rate on an unpopular mob. They're still best in slot but good luck getting a group together even if you can afford the weakening items for it (which cost much, much more then Void Dust).

This is so very true. Before the blinker nerf we had 20k per Qilin, that meant about 50k gil, every kill was profitable, after plates and junk, even more money was gotten. After blinker nerf, 20k per Qilin, an average of 1 pouch every 20 kills, an average of 10 plates a pouch, that means 10 plates every 20 kills for (on Phoenix) 70k each, leaving you with 300k profit on average, and only 15k profit a kill by average. T3 Jeuno went from being highly profitable, to getting 1 plate every 3 kills, 3 dusts are 60k, 1 plate is 70k, so every 3 kills are 10k profit, 3,333 gil per kill as income. The real problem to that entire thing, SE gave us nothing more to keep us going, it went from being one of the most profitable events in the game to a big money sink over night.
