Chains of Promathia optional level caps: Still very much worth requesting
I'm not sure what to expect with this effort, but I did promise the linkshell that I am a part of that I would try.
First, let me start by saying that my linkshell and I are avid FFXI fans and have played for many years with various linkshell members, characters, and jobs. We are devoted fans who sincerely embrace the idea of a game that promotes teamwork and camaraderie. The challenge of battle, loyalty to our chosen nation, and pride in playing our jobs well is always a draw, but the challenge of playing our jobs to the fullest and truly mastering the art of team play has been our utmost goal.
While many others have aspired to play to level 99 and complete the story line, our group's goal has been to master skillchains, exp chains, and other technical challenges. We attempt to complete all missions (Nation, CoP, RotZi, etc) at the lowest levels possible in order to reiterate the importance of teamwork. We pride ourselves in being technically proficient at jobs in order to benefit our party throughout game play. We find the teamwork skills taught by playing FFXI to be a real world benefit to those who have played FFXI, and we strive to point out those benefits to those who play as part of our team.
With this in mind, we have a request. Our linkshell and others would like an option added to the Chains of Promathia battles (once level capped battles, now not level capped) to choose to be level capped as a team. We feel being level capped allows us to better train as a team and exercise our skills as players.
The current option of ‘level sync’ is only effective provided there is a player with the target level on our team. This is a problem given that we are continually gaining exp during missions.
We do not want to infringe upon players who choose to battle without the level cap, but if it is possible to make the level cap an option, we would appreciate the opportunity to further challenge our team and develop our skills.
Best regards and thank you for your consideration,
Project VALOR linkshell
