Something strange in dynamis, possible 3rd party tool?

While in dynamis buru area, I see some bunch of people ganging on elvansticker bxfraat, and other mobs as well on top of them, and the darn warchief tombstone is right next to it, while I was fighting it, all the sudden, the elvansticker was on top of me, not only that, the other 4 people(players) was also seem to be attacking me from what it appears, how is this even possible since its not a pvp based game?

Is this a possible 3rd party tool? I got the player names down as well.

While the elvansticker was hitting me, around the same time, the other 4 players was attacking as well, and I died.

Is attacking another player in dynamis possible??

Also speaking about dynamis, they should implement a system where when you have 2 staggered mobs, no other player can claim it, you cant claim 2 mobs, one is in yellow, the other is claimed. I had some pos player coming over and snatching one while it was already staggered, lol, reminds me very heavinly of l2 online and thoses players would make even the most demanding ffxi player go nuts.

No third party tool can do that. It should not be possible unless the mob can Charm. Which may be possible, if it's an Orc NM.

Don't hoard mobs. Yellow name is fair game.

I assume the party you saw fighting the NM was charmed, following that the NM lost hate, and then aggroed you, seeing as the other party was charmed they were still under the NM's control & then attacked you in full force.

I didnt across posting this, but yes a buddie of mine on the game said that some nm's do infact charms players and use it like pets, sorrie folks, didnt post this eariler and I didnt thought about charm at all, thanks, jeez duh to myself.

If you claim 2 mobs, it should be claimed unless you call for help, if se was smart, they would but they wont, especially how long the games been out, oh well.

You should add "no clue" to your signature.

No, its a game, one where people are meant to have fun, not have to deal with other people taking every enemy in sight so they have to run around spamming a button so they can get a single monster for themselves to kill.

BST is the George W. Bush of FFXI, everything bad that happens is a BST's fault in some way.

BST's are usually the main one's hoarding mobs in dyna so people just pick on them, but everyone does it at some point.

I like how everyone blames BST because they heard about someone hoarding mobs once, so whenever the issue comes up it's always a BST as the puppy kicking villain when the entire argument about BST hoarding mobs is a shitty one to begin with. We've figured out that DNC blows away every other job in Dyna by miles, you can log in and see groups of DNC farming large groups together spamming WS procs and steps, yet BST is the bad guy because of its now useless TH pets and the community's willingness to believe anything negative about BST.

How are your TH pets useless? You still have TH1, which is more than you had at lv75.

I would rather sub THF and spam Whirl Claws, because I'm a mob hoarding jerkbag.

Maybe you are, but that's the player not the job, and I never singled out BST as mob hoarders, I said that was the main reason most people pick on BST's, I also said everyone does it at some point.

I'm just amazed that people still try to cry about BST when we all know by now that procs affect drop rates far more than any level of TH and our Pets' previous TH levels had very little actual influence on drops, yet people leap on that poor dead horse and try to ride it anyway despite it being untrue.

TH has a significant impact on it, actually. One item is guaranteed, while all others are subject to TH just like any other regular item drop in the game. Just because procs affect it significantly it doesn't mean TH doesn't. Whether or not it's worth damage loss or not is a different question.

Procs > Damage, damage loss is a non-issue since procs have such a large impact on whether or not you get the shiny anyway. I'd be more concerned with too much damage personally, mobs are squishy, it's not like they're any different than standard trash. Anyone taking the time to proc will net a great deal more currency than BST ever could with Yuly or Falcorr and mob hoarding over the course of a session. I'm pretty sure the only reason you're arguing is because of your bias against BST in general, but don't feel bad, it's OK to be jelly.

TH pet versus damage pet is an interesting debate but not one that's easily applied to dyna due to the goal being different from "kill all of the things as fast as possible". Instead we're trying to get procs, and pets are not very good at doing that, they're either dealing damage or standing around. Ready moves proc, but not often, so it's mostly up to the BST to JA proc or get a lucky WS and that means a lot of down time for the pet in which it's not performing its function. If I were given a choice of what pet to bring to dyna I'd choose Nazuna + biscuits and use her as an Enmity dumpster, and since she's not attacking I could stack up DD gear instead of Pet haste for attack rounds.

It's not fair or rational to Trick Attack all the hate onto a a single job. People steal monsters and that's a reality. While I personally don't do it, I can understand people doing it if there's hoarding going on.

I avoid the problem altogether by doing WS procs and fighting different mobs that other people don't want. Since I do this on PLD, it's pretty easy to hoard safely and securely. In this fashion, I get to have my cake and eat it too while everyone else gets to do the same.

Well, that was already explained, and as for being able to claim more than one monster at a time... look at it from the other perspective: imagine another player doing just that. Now imagine there aren't that many monsters around. Now imagine several other players doing that. Would you still be having fun?

The way they had it in FFXIV was rather interesting, but it would require quite a lot of work for it to work in FFXI. With that said, one monster per one player character is what works.
Sure it is rude to 'steal' monsters, but I think it is the lesser evil. I personally have never had a problem with it, and I never do it myself. I don't believe in karma, but if I see people get knocked out by something like Sobek for example, I'll keep it for them, raise them if needed, and let them finish what they started or help them accomplish that even.

I guess I tend to go by treating others as I wish myself to be treated by others, and it has worked thus far.

But I digress.

Point being, I don't think you have thought the wish fully through. ^^;

You obviously don't play any job other than BST if you think that proccing a non-engaged mob won't increase your coin yield. (Assuming nobody's around to jack the monster)

BST is the only job that can not get "wasted" JA cooldown time at no risk because they can just snarl and run to the next monster.

That's funny considering how you've said in other posts that you don't have problems with overcrowding. I guess it's only overcrowded when it's convenient for your argument.

I've run into a few runs when there's nobody around EPs, but you have to be logged in on a totally dead hour like 12 PM PST on a weekday or something. Even then.

So basically you might run into it when you get a day off work!

I don't have problems with overcrowding, you're assuming again. I don't have a problem with sharing either, which is what I was trying to imply.

Sure, that's admirable and all...except what does you being nice have anything to do with every non-BST job getting higher coin yields if they could proc non-engaged mobs given the chance to do so?

Nothing at all, but the fact that it's possible doesn't necessarily mean that it should be done at every opportunity.

The correct pace is:

>build tp until proc on current target
>kill current target
>move onto next target
>repeat

The point is to use the 20 seconds of terror to your advantage. Anybody should be able to kill an EP solo, or a DC duo, before the terror wears off, which means you completely shut down enemy tp moves.

Less enemy tp moves = less tp spent on waltzes = more damage = faster kills = faster repops = more kills per window = more currency per run.

If there's a secret to farming Dynamis efficiently, that's probably it.
