New Idea #4

Suggestion: Phoenix Down (Key Item)

Obtained: 2.5k - 15k Gil via Signet NPC in respective main city ONLY
(however "certain" Altana based NPC's like the ones in san d'oria could instead
issue this, where-ever located & claim the proceeds would go to their church or
home nation perhaps?).

Effect: After a certain amount of time (no sooner than 5 min but no longer than
30min) an option to use this key item will display the option to have raise cast
upon you from the heavens (something like "The light of Altana shines upon you"
would display once yes is chosen and then a raise prompt would follow like normal.

Side Effects: Double Weakness & unable to cast reraise upon oneself for the
same amount of time the key item was set to (to avoid SE rejecting the idea
on grounds of potential "abuse" or some type of complaint that it'd
offset something).

Notes: If said person invokes the use of the item but does not actually
raise him/herself the key item would revert to be used again later (to avoid
people complaining about losses for whatever reason). Also the key item could
only be bought no more than 1-3x per real life day? (to support SE not rejecting
this idea further and also lastly the concept of 3x per real life day might be enhance-able via quests? instead of the 1x per real life day).

What is FaS? Anyways I did make a comment on the site feedback to give cleaer places or even sub catergoies in job fourms to talk about stuff like that there.

This key item would be applicable everywhere else outside of aby.

but why would you use it over a reraise scroll/potion/spell?

If your dead you can't use items? maybe you forgot to USE one b4 u died? didn't have
enough time to use one even? it's supposed to be a true last of all last resorts.. the

I wouldn't have anything against the key item.. but i don't think it would add much value to the game..

If you are gonna forget a reraise scroll/potion/spell/etc.. you will probably forget to get the key item as well.

That's the point where you either wait for/ask for a raise or HP. You should never be able to use any sort of mechanic action while dead other then accept. If it's a key item, where dose it end?

People are failing to remember the first post and all of it's details.. it is self explanatory.

This or give examples to why you think said item = fail.

I would never accept this, if I forgot to put RR up (by magic, scroll, earring etc...) I would just HP. Why would you want to be double weakened when it is to easy to get to places now?

Dose not seem viable to me.

I wouldnt say its fail. The thing I dont understand is that near the city gates, crags and many zones are the fov books with the rr option in them. It is just a simple rr but it is pretty useful and any one from level 1 up can get it. So what I am trying to understand is how that is different in effect?

Would be a decent option i guess...but the drawback is too severe to make it see use. If you buy the key item and die a week later...then use it...then you cant put any form of reraise for another week. This is why it's not practical, at least in my opinion.

If thats true that would be a problem. I guess you could go do a blood hmm death reraise to get rid of it? lol.

Pheonix Down would not be a reraise item. A Pheonix Down in my view, would work like casting a raise spell on a person when they die. It would work like some of the temp items do in abyssea or besieged. It would be good to have since sometimes mages pull a noobness mistake and forget to put reraise on. A melee survivor with a Pheonix Down in hand could save the day.

People are forgetting this isn't a "status effect that wears off" like
traditional reraise, even the scroll is useless when dead if not used
prior to death.

Having this KI would allow one to get up in the event all others
have abandoned you for w/e reason.

It has purpose, just because it's not "catchy" doesn't mean it
has no value. Not everything has to be fancy to do a good job.

I'd rather it be an Item that you can use on other Members like it is in Classic FF games. Simply an Item like Potion or Hi-Potion you can use on Other Players, party or not, give it a ~10 second use time like Raise/etc, and Make it Raise I only though. Since anyone can sub /R1, its just inconvenient.

You can use Catholicons on ANYONE, So the concept is possible. It would only be R1, So it wouldn't completely obsolete WHM/RDM/etc. Give it a "Medicated" Effect for say, ~1 minutes. To make it more like Raise1.

But i mean really think, Haven't you ever walked past a Dead player on a Melee job and think "Darn, I really wish i could raise him/Help him" and cant do anything but maybe shout? This would solve that problem. The Recipe could be.

I mean, Its not that Broken, its Raise. It could have Multiple Uses. Imagine just wiping at an Event? maybe say like Dynamis (in the old times?) Normally you're stuck with x amount of Raisers getting to people when they can. With this Everyone could help to some extent raise to help everyone recover quicker.

It has Multiple uses, and should really be considered as an implementation. Phoenix Downs are as Iconic to FF as Chocobos.

Really though, "Scroll of Instant Reraise" is like 7 conquest points now XD
