I appologise to SE for opening another thread on the subject. But the other one is getting to many posts to the point of ppl jsut reading the first one and going stright to posting about stuff that has already been agreed wont work or not a good idea.
So i wanted to continue the talk of increaseing crystals drops in a clean envirnment. Their is a lack of supply issue since abyssea came out. And while most wont want to see a drastic increase enough to ruin prices for themselves, when it reaches the point of AH's being completly out, something needs to be done.
While many have said 'jsut go farm' that sidesteps the issue of no supply on the AH. People buy on the AH because they dont have or dont want to spend a massive amount of time farming. Thats the reason for the AH. But with no supply, their screwed. And if the demand is higher then the supply, adjusting it so their both somewhat equal wont decrease the price much to sellers.
That being said, it still leaves the issue of how/where to increase. People seem to think adding to abyssea is not a good idea. And from a sellers stand point, their probably right. It also could be considered against the abyssea storyline.
Obviosuly, the only other area left would be the non abyssea areas. Could possibly consider upping the drop rate from mobs while under signet/sanction. Or maybe adding the drop to end game event. Its harder to judge that since several end game/event are being revised. Open to other suggestions as well. Feel free to list any.

a shortage?! I have litterally 300 stacks of crystals or clusters-probably even more (those are just the slots on my crystal mules), and with a 90 could farm 80 more stacks in about 80 minutes in sky (without TH). As it is I look for beastman controlled areas to level in to avoid crystals as I level my <75 jobs.

Getting crystals doesnt seem all that hard. Its like everything else. If its not on ah go get some yourself and that is not hard at all.
With the price of crystals I am not paying for them for my crafting. If they dont accumulate then its off to find some for myself. -

Imo while getting crystals to drop isn't really a problem, I would REALLY like to see crystals stack to 99, or have a key item store them like fewell for synergy... I'm sure non-crafters think the idea of having a "crystal mule" is hilarious, but the sad truth is alot of people really do pay $1 extra a month just to have a place to put their crystals...
Alternatively... make a "Crystal Pouch" item that you can put stacks into... a pouch can hold 60-80 stacks of crystals... even if you have a separate pouch for each element the storage savings are tremendous...
As far as the crystal shortages go, I have noticed the steep increase in crystal costs on the AH due to Abyssea... If crystals were to stack into 99, you could easily make sky gods and stuff drop 99 crystals at a time, or increase the yield of clusters to 99, that would certainly fix that... x.o I'd suggest lowering cluster drop rates to 1 per ele if that should be the case, however... Possibly even not make it 100% drop... Or make an entirely new type of cluster that could possibly drop that will yield 99 instead of 12, or maybe a special kind of crystal that can be used multiple times... like a charged item... The possibilities are endless, really... -

eh... this happened to me yesterday, crafting shihei for my NIN. Used up all my crstals, but got 1 break, leaving me with 1 ink and 2 parchment--needed just 1 crystal to finish out my mats. They wanted 1k for 1 crystal, 4-5k a stack--but no stacks were up. Soo..... I got on BLM/WHM and tele mea and went to find me a wind elemental (I refuse to be gouged like that).
Not that hard to do...just have to be willing to do it. -

It's the primary source of funds for newbies. So, lets not nerf their chances to make gil before they even have a chance. At least with the AH combination they will have a better chance to find gear and make money off crystals. And, as a high level, you should have no problem farming them yourself if they aren't on the AH.Quote:

Complaining about crystal prices is just like all those idiots on ffxiah whining about undercutting. Crystal prices and supply is the same for everyone, if you have to pay 3k for a stack of crystals to make whatever you want to make, so does everyone else who's going to make the same item, so you should still be able to compete with their prices.
Unless your competition is farming their own crystals and using them to craft something with a smaller profit than selling the crystals they farmed directly, but then they are actually losing money, not making money. You can't expect to earn money on something if you're competing with people who are willing to pay others or their work. -

Haven't seen a shortage of crystals. The AHs are merging soon too, so that should make finding common things like crystals slightly more reasonable. I guess it depends on what kind you need. I can understand light crystals being in less abundance then most, but everything else is easily farmable. Only thing that irks me is killing elementals, since i'm paranoid i'd be messing up someones magian trial under weather conditions.
Just sounds like you need to farm. If the supply is that low your probably over paying for the demand. -

The starting nations are all fine on crystal supply normally. Dude probably just took a picture yesterday and the AH in those nations are all sold out because people haven't been able to put more up due to the merger since Friday.
After Monday you should see like 200 stacks on the AH as the norm as all three nations typically had up to 50 stacks of crystals each depending on the type and where guilds are located. Whether people undercut each other to death or not with so many up for auction on the same AH is the kazillion dollar question... -
