I understand a lot of people are going on atm about the relic weapons not getting the loving they think they deserve but i have to say that they should stay in the past, they had their day in the sun and now it is over, get over it.
The reason i'm saying this is because there are too many people who complain about the amount of work that goes into making it, But think about this; As a smn i had to do the lvl 20 fights to get each summon, why? cause no one wanted to help each other get them. So i was forced to do the solo fights. Did i get any reward for it? NO, you may say i got the summon itself but for the hardship i got nothing, Did i get a fancy title for doing all 6? NO, Did i get a item for doing all 6? again NO, i got nothing to show the deeds i did nor did i get recognized by SE or other players for doing this.
There seems to be more and more people becoming summoner who are the job just to be it and not to even know how to play it, I've seen summoners with Nirvana and +2 emp gear do less damage and burn through their mp at a fast rate then me. But getting back on topic I don't say it's not fair that other people get to do summoner since they did the 65 fights. Its the same with the relic weapons, If they become easier to get then all is good and if they don't get a decent upgrade then all good still, when did doing the lvl 20 avatar fights equate to a bonus for summoner?
Feel free to blast away i know most will in defending their rights to be above others.

Posts like this make it worse, pointing back to a post, maybe it would not been so bad if SE did not take 7 years to up the level cap.
They took that long to up the level cap so there is a big consern with these weapons.
I can also turn it around, do not compain about us thinking how relics should be changed. How does chaning relic weapons to be the top effect you?
I do agree with one thing though, all the different posts is a bit much, like the ws one was meh =/ -

Well, can't you beat all those lvl 20 avatars on your own in like a week or less? :/ I know a relic took many people a year or some more to obtain and it's a really tedious and expensive process. I know a lot of people get screwed in working hard towards things though everytime SE makes an adjustment to that particular thing and people will always complain about it while thinking it's unfair. I say it's best to be satisfied with your own self-achievements and know that you worked hard towards that particular gear, quest, mission, etc.that used to be a challenge. You as an individual will have more value over those things than others, but some things you can't hold on forever otherwise FFXI will never be able to improve and the game will lose all its players.
You can either whine and complain about how things used to be and how they should still remain or you can accept the changes and know that with these updates FFXI will still live on rather than stay the same and lose people from the game out of boredom. If the servers had to shutdown permanently one day because nothing in the game ever changes, then I'm sure some people who are left would really have something to cry over and those who left beforehand would cry over the game never changing and how things are getting boring.
Anyways~ Aside from all that, I posted one suggestion I had from one of the other relic-related topics. I'll post that here too:
Why not just allow there to be a NPC or quest involved to somehow merge the relic, mythic, and empyreal weapons together to combine the stats and maybe give a random augmented boost on the side? When doing this merging of the weapons though you have to specialize in the relic becoming a weapon only for one specific job though to do this. There should also be a cooldown period but after the cooldown period you can pry apart your merged weapons to make them individual again if you want to re-merge them or use them individually. With tweaked merged weapons and all combined WSs on one weapon that might solve everyone's issue of relic vs empyreal conflicts?
It's just an idea and might sound unbalanced, but I'm sure SE can figure out a way around that as well. -

the general idea i was trying to get across is that when a game makes a big change things from way before the time of the update have to be left behind or you stand a chance of destroying the game, if they make upgrades for relic weapons and then what will be next to appease the players? when will it stop?
No one will be happy by changing something from the past to better suit the present, Leave the relic's just as that relic's of their time. -

Some people spent years farming the currency to get the weapons complete, only to be outclassed by a weapon which takes a couple of days to make and some people can't see the problem with this.
Then on top of that you have to do more trials to bring the relics upto level 90 these trials alone due to dynamis aspect take longer than it takes make a empy. It should be Relic or Mythic on top and Empyrean third. Hopefully at 99 it will be adjusted to be this way.
What really gets to me though is the people coming in here who don't have a relic and say that these weapons should not be in the same class as empyreans a lot of these people just come across as jealous or were used by a dynamis leader and are really twisted and bitter about that.
My relic is mandau and i have a twashtar aswell so i feel i have the right to say that the relic felt like a real achievement verus 5 days of doing some nms for the empyrean daggar. As for the currency price's maybe falling i think they are more than likley to stay the same price as more people try to upgrade same as when the glass prices dropped. -

So when you say its not fair that people can make a better weapon in 2-3 days, then why is it fair that they can get lvl 90 in 1? The game has changed and it seems too many people mistaken Jealousy for being an old timer rocking in your chair on the front porch.
The game is majorly different from years ago. Either adjust or retire. -

um, mythic/relic is upgradable via trials to generally stay with the top-tier weapons as it is. Gjallerhorn looks freaking AWESOME if upgraded to 90, and the only thing that does look a bit seedy is aegis, which SE already knows and intends to partially correct (since they actually seem to intend 2 awesome shileds depending on situation). They also intend to make your Sky/Salvage and a few other things upgradeable, too. The forum has been up less than 2 weeks, the game is shutdown for the majority of that time, and the updates are rolled back... with a damn good reason! Give them a chance!
It's also a vague possibility that SE doesn't want people to walk around as if they are under a permanent primeval brew effect, something about balance. There is research-industrywide-that shows that people quickly lose interest in a game if it is too easy. Your gear was excellent at 75, and if you want it to stay awesome as it is you don't have to do the limit break quests. If you do want to advance past it then it is only fair that you continue to upgrade that gear to maintain it's awesomeness. -

My first comment on this subject regarding relics.
I obtained Aegis just days before the abyssea expansions were released..took years of farming and what not in order to make it that far and a great deal of help from alot of friends. I do believe that the effort put forth to obtain a relic should be rewarded by at least giving them options to be the best in the game via magian. An emp weapon obtained within a week or two should not outclass a relic by any means. I received the double slap by having pld become useless in abyssea. I do hope for a balance of jobs to be reborn as well as people who have worked for thier relics to be rewarded at least with chances for decent upgrades. -

Worth noting, and I'm doing it here because I can't be assed to read the hundreds of posts to see if someone else made the point already, is that the difficulty of all of these weapons have declined greatly in the advent of player advancement, be it gear, atma, or raw level correction.
People who had finished level eighty Empyrean weapons at level eighty worked hard, and those fights DID take a pretty large party size. They got easier at eighty-five but by no means were the walk in the park they appear to be now.
Conversely, Dynamis currency is just laborious. Not difficult, just long. Dynamis now is a joke, and the only thing stopping relics from just being pumped out by the buckets is the time limit/entry period.
The important thing to note here is that time will remove most of the oomph of an accomplishment. Maat's Cap. CoP. HNMs. Relics. Difficulty and time-required are not interchangeable; by that logic no one would have a problem with Empyrean weapon being above par if it took five hundred Glavoid shells instead of fifty. I applaud SE for not making the new weapons take two years and the broken backs of linkshells to complete, because let's be honest: Most relics aren't the testament of devoted, hard-working players. They're the trophies of either extremely-tight lowman shells, trophies by the people who took advantage of their shell to get them to farm thousands of drops, or they're the trophies of people who sat on their gil from the huge inflation period that existed before I started playing. -
