New Einherjar Content and Adjustments

Hey everyone,

We wanted to let you know that there are two major updates planned for Einherjar!

Higher Tier Odin's Chamber

Introduction of a new chamber targeting players who are level 99.

To challenge this new chamber the following requirements must be fulfilled:

• Able to enter Odin’s Chamber.
• Obtained the title “Elite Einherjar.”

Adjustments for Accessing Odin's Chamber

• Feathers required to enter Odin’s Chamber will now be purchasable using ampoules.
• Ampoules will not be directly exchanged for the key items, instead a tradable item can be purchased in order to receive a specific chamber’s feather.
• Possession of the key item “Mark of the Einherjar” is required to purchase these special items with ampoules.

To anyone not used to Einherjar

mark of the einherjar = having cleared all 9 chambers
eltite einherjar = killing odin

(someone somewhere still has to have 9 feather, the difference is that those can now be bought instead of farmed, so it saves 9 runs to farm others a win I guess ?)

Part of me wants to be excited. I have learned not to get my hopes up though. Any chance we can get an estimate of how many ampoules a feather will cost?

It's all about the drops. Only way anyone will do it.

also 3 days cool down so you still 9 feathers (it's quite hardcore) and probably it's 36 man still.

Is it possible there could be more chambers? Part of the fun with old einherjar was discovering different strats for different mob types and species, including different bosses.

A single extra new chamber just sounds really disappointing... I hope you guys have more in store for us with einherjar revamp than just a single chamber... I also hope this isn't the type of devolpment lazyness you have in mind for salvage revamps.


Seriously, one chamber? Forgive me for expecting 4-5 new chambers with new bosses and new challenges that mimicked old school einherjar. This just sounds like a very boring grind sucking back into an event that drops old gear with no real challenge with the exception of the single new chamber.

Hope I'm wrong about this..

Pretty good changes, as long as the cost of buying isn't ridiculous.

oh, only one 99 chamber ? cool beans. Looks promising.

Most Einherjar groups have 3 feather holders so you only need 3 runs (one per tier since everyone needs one feather from each to participate on Odin) between Odins, allowing you to do him biweekly.

strategy...? the only strategy used in einherjar is : throw bodies at it, melee zerg.

mdk/pchain i was in zenosus ls so inm aware. I got most of my einher gear from it. that issue aside, this just seems sloppy./ 1 new chamber that we casn enter every 3-4 runs

atch this mob have some absolutely lackluster drops or AMAZING DROPS that drop 0.1% of the time or a super buffed unreasonably hard Odin.

why couldn't u go aim for something more creative?

More new chambers, more new bosses, different battles etc. I enjoy that stuff in einherjar. Why just throw us a single new chamber that you very well know is just gonna have super rare drops or be super hard, or have lame drops. calling it now.

Watch them add recycled Valhalla gear, all voidwatch abjurations and maybe one or two new abjurations to the new Odin loot pool.

That may have been useful at 75, now not so much. One WAR can FC almost all mobs in any given wave. WAR+RDM can clear most chambers without much hassle that way, and AoE sleep would just slow it down a lot.

Sounds awesome to me.

Actually VW Abjur gear is nice imo, not sure how it is for Heavy-DD jobs, but for RDM I have been seeing alot I would like to get my greedy lil hands on. :D

Which lasts an incredibly short duration. Basically just have to grunt and heal through the ash and trash.

DD body is good, augment it with triple attack, mage pants are good, augment it w/ 4mab.
other pieces are good, turn them into scraps so you can actually get those augments.

I hope new Odin gives more ampules and has some new abjurations in lootpool.

Do you get the 9 feather title for getting 3 + entering odin 3x in 6 weeks?

Similar to Limbus, the basic idea behind this expansion is the introduction of a higher-tier boss battle, so we will only be adding this one new battlefield to Einherjar.

In regards to the drop rates, while it’s kind of difficult to compare and contrast drop rates between different content due to there being a variety of elements which affects the balancing, the fundamental system is the same as the original Einherjar, so hopefully this will help you gauge the drops.

The amount of ampoules required to purchase the items for feathers has not been set very high. We are currently planning to make it so they can be purchased with the amount of ampoules received for clearing the respective wing of the feather you wish to buy. To be a bit more specific, the planned costs are as follows: wing 1=1000, wing 2=2000, wing 3=3000 ampoules.

Simple, nice update, will hopefully encourage linkshells to consider doing Einherjar more for those who might want a Mythic.

Less than one Tier 3 per Odin now, then.

Tier 3 = 1920 Amps
Odin = 2880 Amps

... and they're tradable. This will effectively let me drain my mule's Amps to push my main up the final few thousand I need for a mythic.

Although I know you're just the messenger and im sincerely happy for those doing mythic, there is something so pathetic and sad about the update size of new content. I know it's been like this for awhile, but i was under the impression you guys would make up for the lack of new content and at least give OLD content meaty additions... This is just sad and looks bad.

It's not like you guys are adding a crapload of other events and worthwhile content. All you've done is give super rare drops with boring content or ridiculous content and copy paste zones.

The very least you guys could do is add some meat additions to old stuff. This whole lazy development thing has got to stop. It's like your taking advantage of us who have dedicated our money and time to the the game. Yes, a single chamber/zone/boss is cool but were gonna rush through this and be right back to being bored or having to grind again.

Why cant u guys come up with something that has a little more backbone? The only thing that gonna be blocking us is the horrendous 3 days wait time... Which like the 0/500 drop rate is just an illusion to keep us from seeing the fact you guys really arent adding new content. Ur taking our money and giving us super rare/hard drops/content thats only incentive is that we wont ever get it or win.

This and new limbus just scream slop, but least people getting their mythics a bit easier right? Oh right, alex is still super unreasonable, and you have to know people will take YEARS to finish a mythic, so of course you dont mind throwing them bones. You prolly feel sorry for them at this point.

I'm dissapointed.

Can we get a word on the planned difficulty? Einherjar is currently a pretty low man event participated in mostly by groups of 6-12 and I would hope Neo-Odin would be something a group of that size would have a decent chance of killing. Einherjar is not in the least bit PUG friendly so rather than create the same problem legion has with getting groups together make it accessible to small to medium sized groups. There would still be incentive to take large LS groups simply because you would generate more ampoules which means more feathers and more odins.

Can we expect to see new ABJs in his loot pool to maybe create a market for some of the hexed gear with abjs that currently only come from the ghost town of legion? Maybe sneak some of the crafting mats into lower tier loot pools too? It would be smart to add more incentive than just revamped V forks if you want to put some life back into this event.

Please clarify this. Does this mean only one feather from each wing is required to do enter odin's chamber now? Or does the person entering still need all 9?

If the entering player still needed 9, it wouldn't be a revision. What is unclear is whether people will get the Mark of Einherjar with 3 feathers or 9.

Yeah, that's what I was attempting to ask. Here's hoping.

We will be making it so you can obtain the Mark of the Einherjar at the Hazhalm Testing Grounds if you have acquired the “Elite Einherjar” title and possess at least one feather from each of the three wings. :)

You mean, it would have to be pretty awesome for wasting those hard earned ampoules to buy the KIs you need.

And I was imagining feather mules like the way it happens currently.
