Gungnir aftermath

Please change shock spikes to En-Thunder(or something better). That is all.

An Enthunder that procs 15-20% of the time that deals damage based on Wyvern HP(Make the Aftermath of Gungnir similar to Excalibur's special effect, but based on 25% of Wyvern's HP"

Does it need to be lightning related? I know in lore and all why they did that, but considering Odin is carrying around a (far better looking) Gungnir, I'm tempted to ignore that completely and say ours is a phony.
I'd rather see +Critical Hit damage (though I guess that can loosely be related to lightning) which would certainly be nice for Jumps. Though unless Geirskogul suddenly stops having an AGI modifier I'd still hate SE, regardless of what they do.

Also, would an additional effect like En-thunder even work? Wouldn't "Additional effect: Defense down" block or be blocked by that? I seem to remember two additional effect conflicting when they added Grips (Platinum grip and Mezraq, only ever had Stun and never Evasion down proc), though since the aftermath is only temporary I guess that might not be much of an issue.

Gungnir is "the thunder spear" so yes i would say it would have to stick with a thunder related theme. Just saying give it a perma enthunder aftermath but still keep the chance of defense down.

ok im working on this lance at the moment... so 2.5X dmg doesnt proc on ws's (15-20%).... you have to use geirskogul to get aftermath which are both bad?

I understand the dmg is great and the def down is good.

does anyone have a comment who has used this for the shock spikes to help solo tough abyssea NM's?
I solo'ed my first briareus today and if the shock spikes proc on 100% of hits taken that could slow the enemy a lot.
I chose elvaan to be a dd, but at 99 my base agi is like 30 less than str. maybe more.

I think all i want is Geirskogul to be str based or at the very least vit.. im finding vit easier to come by for drg these days.
if they did go with enthunder i would want 100% proc at 10% wyv current HP. (ophannus' idea would actually be an equal opposite in a way.) SE will like the current hp idea cause they always want us to worry about our wyvern...

Shock spikes from aftermath is awful, never stuns and only does like 15dmg. The 2.5 does not proc on ws, but procs a ton during tp phase. And the def down rocks. Geirskogul is never worth using over stardiver outside and not even close to drakes inside abyssea. Amazing weapon though, nothing touches it except mythic. 159dmg at 99 is just insane. Not to mention the 40 acc opens up some pretty great str/att builds for ws. So definitely stick with it.

i feel under appreciated as drg main again... our ws for relic and empy is bad and ryunohige is just hard to get. /sigh
if i didnt love drg so much id just go lvl drk....but..nah

Like I said, Odin is carrying a Gungnir around, what exactly makes ours the thunder spear and his not? His even looks about a hundred times more electrifying in the cutscenes (pretty sure it even calls in a lightning strike at one point), at best ours has some stupid glow.

They can't add en-thunder and have defense down proc, if you have two procs on a weapon only one will ever happen (if they've changed this feel free to correct me). Considering that they're planning to make the defense down actually useful, I'd say en-thunder would be only slightly less worthless than shock spikes. You could at least maybe justify using Geirskogul once to get +15% critical hit damage or something (and the whole thunder spear argument is kind of moot here since critical hit stats are generally aligned to the lightning element anyway).
By all means, if they're willing to put the extra work into making a weapons additional effect and an aftermaths additional effect (and presumably a grips additional effect) proc equally, then they can go for it, but I'm doubtful they would to say the least.

i dont even think crit hit dmg would be worth it. maybe sentinel effect or quad attack +10%, but thats just crazy.

or they could just fix this ws in addition to camlanns.

I love DRG, I love DRG more than my DRK, but now that Im saving up my gil into realms of actually being able to do a Relic weapon. The lack luster WS and Aftermath of Gungnir is just making me lean more to Apoc or Ragna. SE would do well to tweak Geriskogul, the aftermath, and while they're at it Rhongomiant's Camlanns Torment, as they are all lazy design being pratically the same WS with a different terrible mod. It's sad DRG's ultimate weapons are so poor when compared to other jobs (yes yes Mythic is awesome but hardly reasonable to obtain).

lol take away the AM and make it drain 100% dmg dealt...you know...because dmg wont be much. lol
but yeah i totally agree with Transmit up there. our only decent ws animation is stardiver... even skewer is better animation than penta, geirskogul, drakes, camlanns
new look to gungnir would be nice too
