Post ur thoughts on Titan to Phoenix here!!!!
My only thoughts are that it will get crowded. It was just the right amount of population on Phoenix to only have 2-3 groups per NM waiting in line. With doubling that I guess it will be 4-6 groups per NM, unless they manage to solve it with their updates.
Many things will happen when the Titans will hop on Phoenix.
Most important:
- No one will be able to enter MogHouse in Port Jeuno anymore.
- No one will be able to get at less than 10 yalms from Horst.
Actually there was only like 900-1500 people on Phoenix most of the time. If they really are concerned about power now more then ever shutting down some servers is a good idea.
Well i for one dont like it, like the post above we experience similar wait with nms in abyssea and outside still some are pretty much camped non-stop. Also there are so many on titan who have to change thier name it ridicilous. Myself included more than 75% of my friendlist has thier name on pheonix. Also PJ is crowed to the point of lag on titan and it seem pheonix is too so lag + lag = crash prolly. I think right now the server is where it need to be not xtremely overcamped like the old days, and able to get stuff done. I see the merge making it take 2x as long, or more and making FFXI become boring because gettin stuff done will not only require the challenge of defeating monster, but the fact you might not claim it for the next 2 months(HNM's of old days). Before there was leveling to kinda push the stress of certain NM's off but now most the jobs you wanna lvl are high enough that you are ready for the nms. It will usher in ill behavior, and gil sellers will get thier opening to return(cant speak for other servers but they are not rpoblem on titan anymore). Prolly not fact but i think its the opening they need, and the atmosphere that brought it before.(this is a online forum i dont care about sentence structure, spelling and/or grammer so comment on it all you want it will just be ignored :D)
To those from Titan coming to Phoenix, Welcome to the Party! To those on Phoenix not wanting the people from Titan to come over, go play WoW. Those are my thoughts ^_^d
On Titan we can already barely get into the moghouse in port. We average around 900 online at US prime.
Just no thanks. The mergers within most of the servers was understandable because of the deadness going on, but Titan is relatively strong as is. There's still friendly rivalry-type competition among the linkshells when it comes to camping NMs, lag is just getting back to being the norm of the playing environment, and just merging with another server thats almost close to the same lag as Titan, as said before I, will equal crashes. Story short, if you want to play on Phoenix, tickets are $25 bucks.
I like the idea of meeting hundreds of new people, but I dislike the idea of having to camp NMs and get seals and other empyrean items with the combined population of two worlds. With SE increasing the access to these items it may not be a problem.
My very first character was on Carbuncle, then I made one on Titan, and I suppose before long I'll be a Phoenixian or whatever. :) Change is a natural part of the evolution of Vana'diel. Hello in advance all you people of Phoenix! :D
I initially pretty surprised to hear that we'd be one of the servers that would end up becoming merged. I'm concerned over the more crowded areas as well, but in comparison to servers like Odin... I'm sure we can't gripe too much. I suppose the only reason any of us can fairly get antsy about this before it actually happens is because it's something that can't be easily "undone", heh. Hopefully SE has taken the numbers into consideration...
Either way, I'm always eager to have an opportunity to meet more adventurers; so, welcome Titans! Titan...ians?
Titanites?
Anyways on topic. Crafting is pretty dead and maybe with double the supply/demand the AH will be stocked a little better. The only issue I see, aside from lag, is the added drama with camping NMs. If people can be civil and rotate popping NMs this isnt an issue but sadly there are always selfish people unwilling to do this. I'd imagine /sh parties for older content should be easier/quicker to fill.
Business is going to be good.
Blam.
!
My thought is that the server should be renamed "Titnix".
I know how you feel, somehow my very odd name seems to have been taken by someone on pheonix. Not looking forward to chaning the name ive used for umm 6-7 years. They need to not compile us lol, i wanna keep up my daily life style of fun and entertainment, not go back to old times of annoyance and painful competition. I wonder if its a mule or if its an actual character come to think of it, it would suck that people are losing thier names for a storage mule.
I must find Fumbles AND BEAT HIM!
wholeheartedly agree with angel, the only person that has touched anything on the AH with my name was in 05 and they made a completely random purchase/resale, i've had my name for 7 years and i'll have to change it for a mule ><, i don't even care about the rest of it, i'll still play, but i'm Kavik online and in most things i do irl.
What if I don't want to talk about Titan to Phoenix but instead talk about Unicorn to Fenrir :p But anyways ya they took all lowest populations and added to servers to even out populations arcross all servers So Titan and Unicorn must of had lowest populations for them to be the ones to go
Isn't Odin and Bahamut a much more populated server? I'm wondering how crowded those servers will be. I'm glad my server isn't getting a merge or receiving any new servers. I'm content with the amount of people we have at the moment on my server.
KAVI!!! hows dd, pd, and crim and everyone doin. miss ya guys
I wouldn't count on Bahamut being overpopulated. It is true that once upon a time it's gates closed due to overpopulation. However, it got so very bad on the server during that time, that I didn't have much of a choice but to abandon ship and take refuge on Phoenix (was my #1 reason for leaving: under population). I'm not entirely sure how things are now on Bahamut but if they're absorbing another server, it's safe to say that things didn't change much upon re-opening the server.
