Agreed. I was pumped to test this stuff out and actually stayed up just to see it. I spent a good 30 minutes prepping before the update came too. Putting all jobs at 99, pulling +2s off the storage slips, and loading up with WoE weapons. Wasted. fucking. time.

I gotta be honest, I can't wait to see how they try to cover their asses over this. (I don't mean this as a shot at people like Camate, shooting the messenger isn't cool, I mean the dev team themselves) There's absolutely no reasonable excuse for them to say content is ready for testing and then release it, only for it to not be ready for testing at all. This is turning into the whole "The Devs only listen to JAPANESE feedback" again, and honestly, it's getting harder and harder for them to deny this fact.

As I said in another thread, they need to start assigning generic debug label pointers to these abilities so the game can at least understand we're telling it to activate something it understands, other than a "." placeholder due to the item having no descriptor.

On the upside, they did unbreak the magian moogles. They completely removed the placeholders for the Relic+2 trials, but they aren't shooting out sparks and smoke when you ask them a simple question.

I'm the last one to defend SE's intelligence, their reasoning is usually pretty stupid, but why would they deliberately not translate it? It's the first time that I recall that something was not translated at all (there were always translation errors, but that's different). Something must have gotten lost in the development process. That's probably why they were hesitant to admit a mistake at first and suggested a mistake on the user side. I'm just not seeing how this rage is justified, you act like SE took a whiz on your face. They fucked up, they're bound to realize that now, and hopefully they'll fix it soon.

The relic +2 trials work now. Traded Duelist's Chapeau +1 to it and got 20 .s and the reward showed +2 and stats.

They did something similar to this when the level 95 and 99 magian trials were announced, and they've also done it with randomly added spells and abilities, and then the relic+2 and now the new WS. As everyone has said, can confirm, as of 7:06 AM EST time, the new weapon skills are UNUSABLE at least for NA's. Description in menu appears as a ".", a wonderful... ".", very descriptive "."... period!!

At the very least, the test patch should be tested by someone on SE's side before they update the server. Is no one looking at the English version on SE's side? Or, are there people checking the English patch that don't run into this issue? If it's the latter, then seeing these issues is understandable, because in that case even SE doesn't know what's going on. If it's the former, then that's just irresponsible, seeing as how they hype up all the test server updates before releasing them, only to give us nothing to test.

I think the point is that an SE rep posted about the 14 WS being available to everyone yesterday for this update and once again we are finding out this is not the case. For some reason translation to english is seeing repeating problems leaving those using the english client at a loss.

So yes, the fact that this stuff isn't working means it's a bug. However the bug lies with the transaction rather the content developers. Yes it's highly irritating, but try not to be a twelve year old and pull the "rawr JP Button" stuff, seriously.
Hopefully it'll be fixed soon and a greater amount of QA will be assigned to all Test Clients. -
