im still goin.............
Moderate amber is better for feet farming. You don't have the KIs filling your boxes.
Come back when you hit the 48 hour mark then I'll be impressed.
I call for a vote. 1)do nothing 2)sell empyrean feet at NPC for 500,000 cruor. I vote 2 if it means I never have to read another complaint again about feet drop rate. At least complaints about feet price would be refreshing for the first day or so.
the amount of time its taking me to get them i would have gained 500k cruor anyway
Welcome to the introduction of Murphy's Law.
I lost SMN feet at least three times when I came back and was leveling up back in July. One showed up when I was low on time. I and another guy lotted for them and he outlotted me. When I told them I was out of time, the guy decided to do me a favor and pass.... but I had already used my warp scroll before then. Second time a friend of mine was doing some random farming and found a pair. I rushed as quickly as possible to open the box... by the time I reached the box, there was literally 2 seconds left and it disappeared. A third time, I was out lotted in an exp party when they dropped.
I managed to get them a forth time helping a friends farm for DNC and NIN feet.
Food for thought, I had another friend farming for NIN feet hours on end with no success a month back. Out of sheer randomness without my knowledge while I was helping some one with DRG feet seals, apparently she opened a chest that had NIN feet and they fell to me within minutes of being there.
It would be cool if the world adhered to the Law of Averages, but it turns out that it adheres to the Law of Large Numbers instead.
I dislike random stuff like the Empyrean footwear system, but the drop rate isn't bad. Especially considering you can kill whatever you like within the zone and do so whenever you want.
It took me like 30 hours of farming Vunkerl to get my DRG feet, the main pair I wanted initially.
Since then, I have randomly obtained at least a dozen new pairs without lotting ANY of them.
its true that bastion affects treasure (though in the case of boxes, I think only the box appearance rate is affected, not the contents- I think the treasure hunter only applies to monster drops). but this isn't going to suddenly make one item more or less common in comparison to the others- only the overall rate changes.
Lol, i got my blm and rdm on first box of first kill..........there my lucked stopped. I needed Nin feet omfg they would not drop hours and hours and hours, decided find something else to wear. So off I go to get my last whm body seal, getting tp and gold box drops...Nin Feet.
My good friend and I have been trying to get him his blm for two f'ing weeks, he leaves to go to store, leaves a friend incharge of his character just in case....no sooner is he gone then they drop.
p.s. lesson learned don't throw any feet away...just store them, even if you may never level job
Random is random, but yeah the difficulty to obtain Empyrean feet is not proportional to the rest of the set.
Get 8-16 amber. I've had the most success this way
I find 80-96 to be best for farming small gold boxes for the base AF3 feet pieces. I think we spent around 30hrs~ trying to get 1 pair of DNC shoes. Still need BLU for my mule, at 25hrs+ and counting, although not consecutively (sp?).
Whenever I get a pair I don't need, I ask LS if anyone needs, then I do a /sea for people with them commented, and a /sh if nobody has comment. A few times, I've been offered the shoes I need if they should drop from people I've helped get the pair they needed.
That's the point behind the 500k and that so many would not understand. I figure typical farming time for the feet, if unlucky enough, would equal to about enough time logged to have gotten about 500,000 cruor. So in my mind the 500k price would be fair. It gives you another option to obtain the feet in the unlikely event that the system never gifts you with the feet drop/highest lot which is entirely in the realm of possibility.
Man, when that update came out for Smn. I joined a PuG and got my feet within 20 mins of zoning in. Sucks to be you, OP
