Where is Cait Sith and Atomos?

I'm just slightly curious if the Dev Team has any idea or indication as to when we will be receiving Cait Sith and Atomos on our summonable spell list? You guys said it wouldn't be this update but most likely down the road. And on the Update Road map there is no specific indication as to when they will be implemented. So Camate or any other community Rep. if you could convey this message and ask the Dev Team just a ball park estimate as to when we'd be seeing these Avatars and their quests implemented into the game. I would greatly appreciate it please and thank you.

Best source I can find that gives us the hint we'll be seeing these avatars.

They already stated Atomos is coming too, and he'll more then likely be Dark based.

Doesn't look like they're putting them on the test server for months. Knowing our luck, we won't hear about them again for a year and most likely not have for another 3. D:

Not to sound pessimistic on your pessimism or anything, but I just don't see that being a realistic time line for them releasing Cait Sith and Atomos. The Road Map for updates said the 99 lvl cap is coming sooner then we all expected and our Avatars are our spells for Summoner. Every job will have new upgrades to all kinds of new spells by 99. I believe we should have realistically gotten them this past update, but I won't push. Honestly though realistically thinking I see us getting them at least by 99 cap update, but I pray it's sooner(this is my wish now).


My reasoning for thinking 99 cap wouldn't be here till later is just them ironing out what ever bugs they may in counter. So I didn't see lvl 99 cap till like May-June2012, but if they putting it on test servers in January I'll expect it around February-March we get lvl 99 cap on real servers.

Last time it took 2 years to add Alex and Odin as 2 hour only. Considering they want to give Cait Sith normal moves, and it would be about 10, the expected time is 10 years.

However, I think even SE realize taking 10 years to release next avatar is too long, so hopefully they put more resources on it this time. (Last time must have been just summer workers they took in to code it all)

they shouldn't have teased us with cait sith if they were planing to wait to long before actually putting her in :(

Well we actually don't know a definite time for when Cait Sith and Atomos will be released. Which is why I was hoping to catch one of the reps attentions and get a definite answer. Any kind of hint of a time of release would be great!! You know you want to tell us Camate!

The reps only answers the questions they wanna answer.
Saying when avatars come is unfortunately not one of them :/

Given the new cutscenes in voidwatch, I'm guessing it will be near the end of the voidwatch stuff, and will likely require finishing the voidwatch stuff to unlock them. Makes sense to me give how useful smns are for most of the fights.

Doesn't make sense to give us two potentially useful avatars after they finish the voidwatch content if they're geared towards it. It's also a bit... unfair if they tie in the ability to summon them through completion of voidwatch. WotG completion, yes. voidwatch, noooo.

SE has a poor track record of doing anything of relevance to summoner in a timely fashion. Look at the time it took to get Alexander and Odin, or the time it took to get avatar favor? Their concepts are good but they are generally poorly delivered. Especially avatar favor, I still use it but there's been so many people that I've talk to that refuses to touch it, even the poor newbs to the job that suck at MP management because they panic about their MP pools vs perp cost and blood pact cost.

All the previous ones have touched alot bases.

I'm pretty sure it will only require finished WotG. Odin and Alex were the same, even though it took far into WotG before they added them.

seriously ppl are still trying to milk these 2 avas.. 9 times out of ten they will suck....
Esp. Atmomos like really who wants another 2hr summon?

Odin:insta kill things
Alex:Save a life
Atomos: Turn the enemy purple and Drain stats?

which of these will i waste 3k mp on?

Also what the hell could Cait Sith do? In game its a damn blm cat....
Look at its WS cause that's what blood pacts usually turn into~ A patheic light based sleep? Erase? Scratch some face? A holy that can do 300-2000 dmg?

Not to sound rude but they don't add to summoner at all, I dunno why they even annoounced they would add those 2.. 2 more useless summons which will end up like Diabolos?

Anything Cait Sith does Carbuncle Does already, (except silence, cause inaccurate smn silence would rock not to mention every blm & rdm nm resist it)

we don't know what cait sith does, all you're looking at is the moves you've seen it do in ONE fight, there are a bunch of things cait sith could get, like in the story line when it's with you in the towns it's always invisble, sneak and invis-ga? when someone sees it it teleports away, first avatar teleport? i'm not done with the story so i dunno what else it does, but you can't just assume its only gonna get the attacks it had in the fight, look at the avatars we have now, the prime avatars don't have any of the level 76+ attacks and our diabolos doesn't even get all the moves diabolos prime has (like cacedemonia or whatever).

as for Atomos we don't know what he's gonna do either, if it works like it does in the fight then it could be really good for pulling a load of mobs, would be like having our own personal primeval brew

But we don't know what either of those avatars will do for us. How could you be against getting new avatars anyway? Generally speaking, most jobs so far have gotten something shiny and new. For summoners, new avatars and and update to existing ones would be perfect. As for Cait Sith, you don't think it's possible that summoners could actually have a decent, if not awesome, light element based avatar?

Also, Odin may suck but Alexander have plenty of use. I say that a lot because it's true.

because avatars simply do what their Prime does... Name one Avatar that does something that the Prime can't duh excluding the new 80+ lulzy skills?

Avatars that are useless are a waste, I would not wanna summon some dumb ugly cat that does the same exact thing Carbuncle does it doesn't even make sense for me to want to do that. Put a CaitSith Skin over your Carbuncle .dat and there you go.. instant Cait Sith.

As for Atomos... ur right maybe I would wanna blow 2k mp on stupid stat down. *not*

Not to be a negative nancy and trying to see some light within I don't see them making avatars do stuff the primes cant do... so that cuts out the mystery part. I saw em and fought em and I do not approve, I rather have some flashy new useful skills for my current avas than another Diabolos.

then comes the final summons BAHAMUT!!! yes i know they didn't and probably won't but i still hold on to the hope .....

Highly doubtful. There's no legitimate reason to add them as merits unless SE desides to get lazy and have use go through a similar process that SCH did to get Embrava and Kaustra. Talk to merit moogle to unlock, and merit without doing much of anything to obtain.

I think it makes perfect sense that they'll add the avatars at march+. Level 99 cap, good time to add new avatars. New merited 2 hours... and you are working on a 2 hour avatar? Perfect again.

Cait Sith will of course not be 2 hour avatar. But I think negative nancy is right about it being completely useless. So far SE has only given us "nerfed versions of avatar attacks" or "nothing the avatar can do". To have them give us "something the avatars didn't have", would require them to abandon all past design decisions and do something new.

It is what SMN needs, but it is also something SE hasn't done for a decade. Expecting it is just too much.

Well it seems to merge old with new is to have level 99+ Avatar fights to unlock more potential. I got no details or explanation for how it could work... but yeah. I want a reason to hate fighting avatar's again cause Waking the Beast is pretty much a cakewalk... not that it wasn't with a full alliance at lv.75 to begin with.

I wonder if Caitsith will be the first neutral summon.

Probably not. Cath Sith will most likely be light element. But it's worth being said that nearly all, with exception of a few, physical blood pacts are neutral element.
