Exact crysta payment option?

When are we getting this? Has it already been added? If not why is it taking so long..

Seriously, I've been wondering the same thing. Only reason I've been paying with crysta lately is based on SE's promise of adding the ability to buy the exact amount of crysta I need to play the game. I don't want a lingering $1-2 sitting around doing nothing all the time. Well, for me anyways. I'm sure it's doing SE a world of good when you have a ton of customers with $1-2 sitting around doing "nothing" that you didn't earn. Original post:

We're crawling up on mid fall I'd say. Where is it? Just because people have been quiet doesn't mean we stopped wanting this. We're just being patient. But you can't be patient forever, so if you're behind schedule with these changes, at least let us know.

Fall started Sep 23rd so its been one month. In 2 weeks would be the start of "mid fall"

SE isn't sitting around with $1-2 of people's money. The money has been spent on credit that can be used towards FFXI subscription fees. The money people spent is SEs to do with as they wish, regardless of what happens to the crysta sitting in accounts.

Yeah, those two weeks isn't much time at all. I guess if we hit mid fall without the exact payment addition we'll know that they're behind schedule whether they say something or not, heh.

They get more money than before because with the original payment system, a person would only pay $12.95 and that was it. But now, if someone is forced to buy $15 worth of crysta, Square-Enix essentially gets an extra $2.05 from that single payment. That whole $15 still goes to them. After a couple payments the player will only need to buy $10 worth of crysta, but even then it still leaves the player with a surplus of crysta. Obviously the person who spent the money doesn't ever lose access to that extra Crysta, but it's still serving them no purpose, even if it's temporary.

Basically, Square-Enix is getting a temporary "surplus" fund from using the Crysta system. It's not a lot, but it's still there. It certainly adds up when you have thousands of people paying that extra $2 now and then. And yes, it's not THAT big of a deal, but it's still annoying. I think I got something like 105 crysta sitting around in my account doing nothing, and I'd like to keep it balanced at 0, as do many other people. The surplus crysta thing was a big deal to many people when they added this to FF11, which is why they said they're adding the ability to buy exact amounts of crysta in the first place. It's not an unreasonable request, and we do deserve to know when the exact payment thing is coming.

I can't figure out why it's taking so long to add, it's not that difficult...

I want to be able to pay for my account, make new mules etc and not be overcharged for it. Get on with it please Square, promised us these features let's have them.

I just bought crysta... again... still no exact option.

That's my point exactly. A lot of people can't seem to make the distinction between Crysta and real life money (ironing: can I have it?). I've seen the argument put forward that SE can't do anything with the 'extra' $2.05, or whatever amount it works out to depending on mules, because that 'extra' $2.05 will be used towards the next month's billing cycle. That is obviously not the case. SE just got an influx of cash earlier than they would have normally received it and can do with it as they wish. The player base now pays for accounts with Crysta, not money. We can have all the Crysta in the world on our accounts. What happens to it next month or the month after has no bearing on how SE spends the money we paid for that Crysta. It's a safety net for SE as well as a way for them to book profits at an earlier date than they normally would.

There's 2 major points.
1.) This is the most poinient. SE said they were going to and not only have they not done so, they will not answer with a reason why they have not done so.(Which there is none since they system has exsisted from the start of all of this in japan.)
2.) Some people cannot afford to be putting extra on there. A lot of people who play have extremely limited entertainment budgets.

3.) That "2.05" you go on about rolling over will take nearly a year of having errant ammounts of crysta for it to even out.

1. Xenu himself could fly down here on a DC-9 and tell me that SE is changing their billing system in a timely manner, and I would tell him to fuck of. SE is contractually obligated to use CnB and UP. They aren't going to be able to change the terms of those contracts over night.

1.b) Remember Rosina calling out all the people from Australia who could not (can not?) pay for their subscriptions because CnB and UP aren't supported in their region? Just because Japan gets direct billing, does not mean it is feasible or even legally possible in other regions.

3. That 2.05 doesn't roll over into anything. One month you spend X, the next month you spend Y. What you get in return is not access to FFXI; you get Crysta. You spent your money on Crysta and your money is gone forever.

3.b) If all you have is a single character in FFXI and you only use your Crysta to get access to FFXI it will take 25 years for your balance to reach zero. Hands up all the people who think all the ps2s in the world will last that long.

The fact we are overpaying with crysta IS the reason why paying the exact amount hasn t been implimented yet, they are gonna milk this till the last second possible.

Although i was able to pay for crysta with my non verified credit card last month, wich was a "nice" start

That's an illogical argument because as soon as the option is given, all that "milking" is for naught as all "gain" from it is cancelled out by us underpaying for the next payment. The moment this feature is implemented, all the gains from pocket change left in our accounts is gone.

(Which is why we want it to happen as soon as possible. :cool: )

Seriously can we get some word on this? I want to be able to make storage mules etc and I can't till you sort out payment options.
