Abyssea - Attowa (Get rid of the Miasma!)

Square i know you like to give Cid's Teeth alot of attention, but please make this annoyance with the Miasma go away completely!

Or at least have 1-2min timer max.

I agree with you completely, the Miasma thing is extremely annoying!

You do know you can do it yourself, right? Just get your fame up a bit, and get the instructions on how to make Miasmal Counteragent from Harith. Carry a stack with you, and you'll never have to worry about Miasma again.

Actually, it's still have timed miasmal that counteragent can't deal with. Only ways to deal with it just wait til it's depop but again it's in Abyssea which time is very valuable than to wait 3-5 min or very long period of time for it's depop. And statics miasmal that it's always just there. Guess best way of that SE must just make all Miasmal can remove with counteragent.

Oh, the dreaded plague of Abyssea -Attohwa! I couldn't agree with the OP more!

My recommendation would be the granting of a key item upon completion of the quest Hazy Prospects, allowing a player character to click on the Miasma and have it dissipate. The Miasmal Counteragent synthesis recipe is not cheap, requiring a Salinator that sells at NPC for approximately 4,000 gil.

Once again people complain about how hard the game is. Quit then, this is not a straight point A to point B game. Man I wish most of the whiners were here when I started in 2004 that was hard and fun. Now it is a joke, I have to many friends here to quit and time invested. Stop complaining and enjoy the watered down version.

I love that analogy.. yes SqEnix has done a lot in the past year to tone down the difficulty of the game, if they took out everything that people thought was annoying or hard this game wouldn't be much of an adventure game it would be more like Super Mario Brothers and the side scrolling action

Finally someone who feels the same way as me..... I think alot of things have been made easy for no reason, except that people complained to much about doin things like CoP(man all the time, exp, and gil spent to have it cut down and weakend to what it is now). Instead of saying i cant, its too hard, noone ever will; actually try to get it done. Shout in town, set up a day dont expect it done right away or all at once. The biggest and best thing about FFXI was that you couldnt finish it in a day or week.

arggggg no no no. I hate the maisma but my gosh if everything in game is given to you then might as well go mow the lawn instead of playing the game.

be highly unwelcome. It's rude an counter productive to the posting of other ideas/opinions
that matter.

If this person wants to discuss the removal of said "effect" then let him be! I'm tired of
seeing what I believe to be "elitests" from the game waltzing into this forum an stomping
on others just because they want things "their way" all the time -.-

I'll go with removing the miasma based on key item idea obtained via quest an such.
That's my opinion an let no one (other than SE) challenge it!

If we are hoping the developers read and implement ideas from this forum then people who disagree with the ops ideas have to speak up. Otherwise they will have reason to think we all are behind the idea. Well I am not in agreement with op.
There is already a quest for this anyway.

Wasn't this a COP thing? Do they even have COP in their dimention?

if they don't want to get rid of Miasma they could improve the maps? just as they could put in the tunnels in the Jungles/Ulegerand but don't. normally, when there is more than 1 floor of an area they make a 2nd floor map, and connection points are not that hard to add. when real cartographers have to post barriers or elevation changes they put in notations to that effect, i.e. a dotted line where miasma may be, an up or down arrow when a path deviates from a horizontal manuver, etc.

The miasma is annoying, but usually not prohibitively so. I couldn't really care less if they leave it or remove it. That said, I can't see how people are saying things like, 'the game is easy enough as it is' as though removing the miasma has any real effect other than not having to detour and waste more time. As was said, I think a bigger issue is that the map for Attowa as well as a few other areas, but mostly Attowa is nearly useless. There's no reason that I can conceive to justify it being so small and most any useleful information about the terrain is omitted.

Now this is something that is so true. I finally figured out how to read the maps in the jungle but the maps in attowa are impossible. There has to be a way to make more a more useful map for that place.

a little bit of miasma never hurt anyone, this game has gotten pretty much soloable now whereas it used to be dependent on your friends and such, quit complaining about some pesky miasma, if you really need more abyssea time than dont go in for a couple of days and let the stones build up

Most of the people who are opposed to easymode aren't asking for things "their way"; they're asking for things to remain the way they are before this whole Hello Kitty Island we're playing gets any easier.

The way I see it is all the noobs are bouncing in demanding the game be made easier because they want it "their way".

I would just like to say that my first impression of Attohwa Chasm was this:

"Boy, the person who made it must have hated life!!"

And that's why I didn't do Abyssea-Attohwa for a long time.

People complain the game is too hard then complain the game is too easy. People need to make up their minds and just enjoy what the game has to offer. Waiting does get annoying but maybe do something else while you wait like chat to a friend or surf the net or something.

It's not like the miasma is everywhere, only in Attowha, so it shouldn't be much of a problem to navigate the ones that never go away or to wait for a few for the ones that can go away to disappear. It's not like those ones are up all the time.

I think they should make every miasma capable of being cleared with the Hazy Prospects item, because like that other guy said the recipe isn't exactly cheap, and it does take up valuable inventory space, so it's not like it's removing all the difficulty, just gives lazy people an option xD

The miasma is only annoying when it is blocking every route you try to get to an area. I would be happier if it were more like the fire spouts in Ifrit's Cauldron, and they went up and down much faster.
