95 Apoc Boost!

Most probably know but 95 Apoc got a perma 20% ODD addition. I have yet to see any Ragnarok testing but that is a huge boost for Relics.

Nice hope they keep up the trend on all relics of giving them increased megacrits (can't really say ODD cuz some weapons its 2 some its 2.5 and a few its 3) would love to see the relics be truly amazing weapons considering the work you put into them. Of course I hope they really do something about mythics because their aftermath system is just laughable at best. Also update relic aftermath please SE.

I don't have an Apoc, but I am working on one, and wow... That's one hell of a boost. I'm glad SE is still trying to rebalance the big weapons amd get relics back on top.

PS: 154 base damage on Apoc95? /drools

The x3 proc Relics are showing a 12% rate, nothing on the x2.5 that i've seen yet.

Mythics got 2-3 at 300AM this update, thats pretty damn broken for the 2handers.

How did you manage to get 10 animated scythe kills since Sep.19? Was it on test server?

Its a pop NM now, you can do 10 in 30 minutes with a decent party. A THF is handy to get the pop items. I was able to Dual box kill the Animated Scythe with my WHM mule but its not easy. The biggest thing is to keep third eye up, if third eye goes down, turn and wait until its back up to resume damage. Also don't use LR. His Catastrophes go from 700-900 damage to 1700-2000 damage with LR on.

If you have 2+ Apocs just zerg him.

I truly cannot wait. We did all 10 shield kills for our aegis pld's yesterday and got 7/10 scythe kills done. Going to finish it up tonight for me. Really can't wait!

Without going into another catastrophe debate on this forum what have you guys been doing lately with your catastrophe builds or noticing. I haven't played much due to working and bought myself a 2001 SR-1 black corvette in honor of dark knight. It is black with red stripes down the hood. I saw it about 2 weeks ago and i thought of dark knight and its long lost power so i bought it.

twilight/gorget/bale/brutal
twilight/abyssal+1/raja/spiral
atheling/ele belt/bale/bale

i continually go back and forth with grim+1 and twilight mail <.<

twilight body, abyss hands, bale feet and spiral ring? Arent't there alot of better gear?

For my cata set I use heafoc mitts instead, torn between grim+1 body and twilight though

I am going to recheck gear sets for store TP/Xhit, DA/TA rates and also mods/fSTR etc to see how that compares now. I am hoping they update salvage gear for ares's legs to get a better DA rate myself but otherwise I cannot comment at this time what I might try.

With the 95 scythe Heafoc might be better because of how hard fSTR is to cap now outside, but I wouldn't use them ever in Abyssea.

I carry grim+1 for my PDT set but it would only be useful on a LR down set and even then it would be pretty damn close.

I'm curious about the Abyss gauntlets +1 you use, is INT+9 the best you can get on hands? maybe I'm an attack freak but i currently use perle for STR+4 attack+10. I play a lot of Voidwatch so i figure my attack isn't going to be capped always.

Also i use grim+1 for body

I don't use DRK for VW and wouldn't use Cata if I did. Most of those mobs you aren't full time TPing and if you are you are probably capped on att :p

Armadaberk is augmented to have STP +6, DA +3 which I have to WS in to maintain 5 hit. Generally switch between Calmecac and Bale depending on mob.

Yes Apoc is truly becoming a fun weapon again. I can't wait to see the 99 versions. I did my 10 Animated Scythes in about 10 minutes because we already had the pops.

Problem I ran into Monday night was, I had the trial done, but had not leveled to 95 yet lol.

That's 48 SAM sub which puts me on 82TP. So I need to WS in 30 STP to 5 hit I think.

I use RCB rather than STP food so don't think I can get away with using a different body.

UNC got me on 4 hit builds which are all the rage and quite easy to get now provided you have a little bit of help.

I 4 hit in VW with the Save TP atmacite but haven't had a COR in my party since update to try out that new roll. It was pretty silly in VW at least.

Is what I'm using. Can WS in anything. Rancor is hard to beat if you can take the 10 pdt. Mala doesn't like me, everyone in my shell has one, including most mules lol. (and my mule ofcourse has one) Gonna run some numbers on your set, looks better to me.

Chris this was back in the day when I got laughed at, remember 4 hit builds with max haste. Everyone was saying Str Str Str.

Well it's really just your own personal balancing issues. Not everyone has the exact same set up and store tp is going to vary accordingly especially if doing a 4 hit with 513 delay weapon. I didn't even realize you could do it till you mentioned it then i started checking it out.

On Cor/sam i have a 2 hit build in VW using miser roll + Tact roll

DRK/SAM can prollly 2 hit w/ scythe too which is broken if ya have a apoc

either way miser caps at 25 save tp and atmacite is 20 so ya ya get 28 tp a hit(possible w/ sam roll)

u'd get 73 tp return from ws + 1hit = 101 tp = BROKEN!!!

Also w/ the 11 thing COR can keep 11 rolls up for most of the time

The 2 second WS delay doesn't always make lowering your Xhit a true advantage.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves :p

Ukon is what it is because of the job, the ODD and the WS, not so much the base weapon.

Apoc will be nasty at 99 but DRK will still be a flawed job. Also as gear progresses the AM advantage could get toned down further. (DRK has make major sacrafices to cap haste atm, might not be the case soon)

I'm about 1/3 down with my 95emp....might cash in and do another relic myself...

1 95 empy should be pretty close to 2 relics

with the 40% boost to relic ws on top of 25% amano is really tempting as a third and final relic. I haven't checked out numbers between 99 amano and kaiten vs shoha (spelling) I wonder if its close or if there's a clear winner?

done w/ very rough numbers

Kaiten (+40%) = 1008 base dmg
Shoha = 760(100tp) 1008 (200tp) base dmg
base dmg is before fstr and attack is considered.

and shoha has a attack bonus so will prolly pull well ahead of kaiten in most real cases

Yeah I already mathed out Amano. Shoha will still be the best WS when pDIF isn't capped. Kaiten will be a beast though on medium and lower lvl mobs.

I'm trying to decide between Amano and Finishing my Masamune, Masa will be ahead at 99 but seems to be a lot more work to get it past 90.

bleh, kaiten is my second favorite ws animation in the game. i'm such a fanboy for it
