You failed your not a true blue mage get it together or dont play bluemage at all
Only 5 hours? It took me 10+ hours to get Uppercut when blue mage was a new job.
Honestly, it's not that hard to learn spells, just need to be dedicated in your spell hunting. :)
Maybe the spells could be learned from scrolls
<-------------- Troll much? As a BLU/64 myself i can undersatnd your pain. It take alot of mobs to get certain magic, thats the path you took as your trial for being a BLU. The problem im having atm is the mobs i need magic from are way to high to solo and somtimes hard to get ppl to help. I love BLU sooo much, is there a better way? idk
Seemings 90% of your spells you will get the first few times you see them, having to really work for 3-4 really shouldnt be an issue at all. I spend hrs on some spells (took me a good 10 hrs to get refueling), its the way of the game. Just be patient, wear ur af1 gloves and you will enjoy that spell all the more when u get it. As for spell hunts do some /sh, it would take me days sometimes with a few mins of /sh here and there to find ppl but once I did we would go out and get 5+ unsoloable spells and I made friends in the meantime, it was great. If you really think about it, its no different than a nin who runs rj 6+ times before he gets and utsu ni scroll to drop. All magic using classes have those hard to get spells. Everything cant be handed to us on a silver platter, if you want that play WoW.
Also use low lvl swords and remove all suble blow gear so u feed it tp without killing it fast. I could get a mob to use Winds of Promy at least once and it took me around 10 mobs to learn it.
I dont really see a problem on the blu learn rates, just learn the tricks to spell hunting and have a lil patience, there are plenty of ppl who have written on the subject.
its easy to learn blu spells first cap your blu magic skill then wear af1 gloves/body, af2 head,af3 pants and go fight your mob. i usually learn the spell im after on the first try and if i dont i always get it the second time around.
I think I'm the only one in FFXI who loved blue spell hunting >.>.
last time I checked, WoW didn't have Bluemage class...Quote:
if you want that play WoW.

So skill up, then try to learn the spell.
I can attest to having BLU magic capped in order to learn spells, even though some people write otherwise on various BLU Mage forums. I attempted to learn Bad Breath with skill uncapped by 2 levels. 20 Overgrown Rose later, multiple uses of Bad Breath = no spell learned. I even tried bare fisting. Next day, I capped BLU magic on bark spiders in the Tree, went back to Misereaux and learned the spell first mob and 3 other spells in quick succession. Dumb luck maybe. Abyssea/BLU at low level a huge mistake imo. I have seen quite a few 75+ BLU's running around trying to catch up on level 30'ish spells.
Ridiculous... you want everything handed to you? Keep trying and quit whining. Cap your skills, wear skill+ gear/af1 hands.
Also, why is this in the Site Feedback section? This forum should be used to submit feedback on the forum software, features that don't work, feature requests, etc. This is more a topic for the Gameplay>Other forum.
lol ya i'd agree with some ppl. Realy isnt that hard to learn blue spells. I sure hope you know there's blue skill level requirement. So doesnt matter how many hours you try to learn it if your skill isnt in the mark your never learn it. So if ur skill level is at lvl 70 no way in hell ur learn a lvl 89 spell.
SITE FEEDBACK. lol
It took me 6 months to get refuling, but I still play BLU. It's just luck, every other BLU I know it took them a day at most.
