Best Atmas for DNC?

What are the best Atmas for Dancer?

"Atma of the Razed Ruins" is going to be at the top.

I used Gnarled Horn and Atma of the Apocalypse also, but i'm too lazy to check if there's anything really better.

I personally use RR/Gnarled Horn/Apoc most of the time. I like to use RR/GH/VV when running around a lot and killing fodder mobs since it's nice to have a fresh WS at the start. Never really tried using SS just because The TA from Apoc is so enticing.

Always Atma of the Razed Ruins. Always. Atma of the Gnarled Horn and Atma of the Apocalypse are the traditional choices to go along with it, and good in most situations.

If you really need evasion, your best bets would be Atma of the Siren Shadow or Atma of the Dark Depths. I assume the latter is better, but not knowing the exact numbers of each I can't say for certain.

In some situations, Atma of the Voracious Violet might be useful.

Stay far away from Atma of the Sea Daughter. It is not your friend and it bears you no gifts.

Like evryone above has said Razed Ruin and Gnarled Horn are prime choices of atmas for dnc. The third atma slot however is open to a more defensive approach should the situation call for it( elemental resist ect). Sanguin Scythe is a good choice for a third atma as well if your not concerned about elemental or other effects. Bottom line Razed Ruin and Gnarled horn always, and third is open to flexibility.

<---- not a dnc but has dnc friends and have taught some dnc about atma (got them the atma lol) but as stated above GH and RR are always good and from what ive seen it comes down to what are you doing and what do you like the most. There is always that situation where elemental resistance will save your life but for general running around and doing whatever it comes down to VV and AoA which comes the personal choice. 15% triple attack 10% quick magic (helpful assuming your subbing nin) and the auto reraise is always good and i would use on dnc for damage and tanking (cuz ive seen dncs tank the shit out of things lol). or the 50 str, 10% double attack and regain 2/tic (which has saved my ass many times while /dnc and soloing cuz that little bit helps at least for me) which i use while soloing. Thats just my take on it while being on the outside looking in.

Always GH + RR.

The +50str on VV is completely wasted on DNC. Don't bother. Even the regain is overrated on a job with such a rapid rate of TP gain.

The best 3rd atma choice really depends on your daggers/goals, but it should pretty much be one of these 3: Sanguine Scythe, Apocalypse, Dark Depths.

SS adds more damage than GH.

I personally use Apoc, VV, RR if I'm in a strictly melee mode. If I'm in a low man and find myself pulling hate occasionally I use Apoc, VV and my Eva atmas are GH or Sand Emperor. If I'm soloing fodder mobs I use Apoc, RR and GH or Sand Emperor. However, if I'm soloing NM's I use Apoc, GH and Sand emperor. With GH and SE and stacked Eva gear, I'm practically untouchable.

I would also look into Cloak and Dagger, I haven't gotten it yet but hear it's pretty darn good. There were some other atmas mentioned here that I have not gotten, maybe you should try them out too.

I find the only situations where I run a good chance of dying while soloing (without it being just unsoloable for me, of course) are ones with frequent heavy magic damage. For such situations, I like RR/Sanguine Scythe/Future Fabulous. For general purposes I use RR/GH/AoA or Sanguine, depending on my mood.

Gales/Beyond/Ultimate or some other MAB atma for ambercleave.

+Evasion atmas above and beyond GH look good on paper, but I am either at or close enough to the evasion cap to never let a hit through shadows anyway (barring untimely AoE stripping) and if I'm not completely untouchable now I will be at 95 a month from now, so I still consider the +20% health on Sanguine more bang for your buck on a non-Taru, though Byrth's taru ass might disagree.

RR and GH are essentially full time atma

If you find that you are almost always using saber dance, then use SS. If not, AoA is better. Since I'm a taru I like SS a little better to be honest.

When I solo I use Cloak and Dagger (too lazy to get siren shadow or even better dark depths..) This and x2 evasion kila +2 allow me to use DD gear while I fight and not worry about shadows at all. For some NMs you can do this without an evasion atma though.

I generally full time Apoc/RR/GH but replace GH when I need to tank certain NMs, mainly magic casting ones.

But that is just my personal preference.

Also, Minikin/Sundering Slash/VV is actually really good for playing an ersatz WHM as DNC/WHM with an Apollo's Staff. Curing Waltz V, and Cure IV during the cooldowns. It's.....probably better than RDM.

I'f you're going that route, wouldn't Sea Daughter be better than VV? Sound's interesting lol

The 12% Slow on Sea Daughter negatively impacts the recasts on your WHM spells, and the 5/tic Regain you're already getting from the other two covers your needs. OTOH I'm not sure how much Haste you really need as a curebot and there's no reason not to wear enough gearhaste to at least get you back ahead of where a RDM or SCH would be, so idk.

Not for nothing, DNC/WHM also opens up 3 more red triggers via club and staff, and the TP generation to use them without meleeing. Those 3 are, of course, 3 of the easiest to actually do for anybody, and using anything other than a staff locks you out of 3 of your 5/tic regained TP. YMMV

I guess SD might be better than Sundering if you needed red procs in addition to your healing?

On that note, one thing to look forward to next week is /RDM getting Haste; you could, for general purposes, go DNC/RDM with normal DD atmas, Hasting yourself and using Refresh to be self-sufficient on MP, until your group gets the pops for something you don't really want to melee, at which point you could take 30 seconds to warp back to base camp and swap to Minikin/VV/Sundering (Minikin/SD/Harmony?) and start healing.

/WHM doesn't work quite as well for that because you kind of need a Refresh atma to maintain your self-Haste while DDing.

Sea Daughter is actually 15% slow.

Here's my Atma list, including all the ones that have a use for DNC (I think).

DD perma-Atma:
Atma of the Razed Ruins - This is almost always on
Atma of the Gnarled Horn - Also almost always on, for defensive reasons as well as offensive

Third DD Atma:
Atma of the Sanguine Scythe - Technically our best third DD Atma, I think, but it offers the least defensively.
Atma of the Apocalypse - Technically our second best DD Atma, but Auto-Reraise isn't as good as not dying.
Atma of the Dark Depths - Our most defensive third "DD" Atma. 30 Eva and 20% Crit rate


AE perma-Atma:
Atma of the Ultimate - MAB +50!
Atma of Gales - Wind damage +30%

AE Third-Atma:
Atma of the Smiting Blow - If you aren't using Martial Knife or a TP Bonus Fusetto, this offers the best damage boost. If you aren't using both, this is the best option for Brewing with Aeolian Edge.
Atma of Hell's Guardian - If you can, it's awesome. Can use it to replace Ultimate obviously.
Atma of the Baying Moon - MAB+30
Atma of the Razed Ruins - If you're also camping something while you cleave (like Gukumatz) this is a good third Atma option.

AE Cleaving:
Atma of Echoes/Atma of the Hateful Stream are both interesting options, and you should look at Smiting Blow again above.


Defensive Atma:
Atma of the Earth Wyrm - Some people use this for Tunga or Dragua
Atma of the Future Fabulous - Essentially -33% Magic Damage. I use it on some solos like the Goblin Tier 1 NM or Gamayun in Grauberg.

Hey, while you're here, question: was looking at your AH profile and saw you double up Martial Knife and TP Bonus Fusetto. They stack? I thought they might but I did not want to buy a Martial Knife only to be disappointed.

They do stack~! You mainhand Martial and offhand TP Bonus Fusetto +2, and every time you hit 100 TP it's like you're going at 300. It's pretty awesome.

Yeah, it's pretty great. I also use DNC/RDM on Konschtat specifically for the MDB, because I pull the Tonberries. It's too bad that Konschtat has such nice gold box items, considering how bad the zone is to cleave.

Try the leeches, they are the lesser of the evils there since they link very easily. the main draw back is that they a very spread out, so you'll have to work with that.

Yeah, instead of dealing with how spread out the leeches, efts, or funguar are, I just use tonberries. You can pull both populations at once (the mages run up to you even at 100% HP and don't deagro like flans), and they're fairly clustered and easy to pull all things considered. Admittedly, I use a WHM mule to keep me alive with C5/6 spam once I get back to camp. Tonberry Lieje is an "issue" but he's killable with cleaving Atma. I tend to pull them in my MDT/PDT hybrid gear set.
