Hey All,

Really hard to think of what I would like to see. I know that if we got TH even just TH1 thfs would sh*t bricks, if we got triple attack they would crap out the Flat Iron building. Maybe the -emnity JT whms and rdms get would be cool To have if /nin or anything other then /rdm/whm. More tiers of acc bouns and such would also be nice once we move out of abyssea. Kinda hard to think of anything that would not be overpowering or getting something that the jobs that got a JT before us haven't got the next tier yet like auto refresh T2.
i like your ideas so far. and i dont think they're overpowered i mean War only gets Double Attack 1 and we get it too so... ya. (and the rest of war's JT's are for tanking with a shield lol)
too bad Rdm doesnt have a trait like Drk where you get TP from using spells. then we could hope for that :P
a parrying bonus trait would be cool ^^
I'd like to see these, probably more but all I can think of for now:
Dual Wield 3 (probably at 99)
Occult Acumen - Why doesn't the only job in the game this truly benefits get it ~_~
widescan would be cool.
occult acumen works with dark magic only, so only works for drk when you cast drain/aspir
I would love widescan also
Triple Attack & widescan would be nice, but personally I would like more cost savings for existing traits ie, counter, fast cast, store tp, DA , etc.
Wide scan would be lovely, as would our own version of occult acumen... but I think SE decided against giving us that because it would be too over-powered. Even at 1-2 TP per spell, it's still pretty ridiculous considering most of our spells are so quick to cast.
I would also love reduced costs for existing job trait combinations. Most notably, Fast Cast and Conserve MP (or at least give us spells that are actually relevant to us for these traits). Would love to see Counter get some new spells to combine with it. Enervation is one of the most useless spells BLUs have.
I'd like to see expanding the tier's if blue job traits. SE already has this method established with "Clear Mind" so why can they simply expand all the others. I think Paladin and Redmage sub job are the only jobs to offer a second tier of job trait for bluemages?
As an aside what's with auto refresh costing so many spells to get job trait? Almost every other ability only requires two spells to get job trait. I understand that at lower lvls want to limit a blu's ability to swap out traits, but as we approach lvl 99 this reasonng is really lame. I'd like to see and increase of +2 tic for every 4 spells of blu
We all know BLU is getting Snapshot to go with Rapid Shot.
Does rapid shot speed casting of ranged blue attacks such as quests rooms?
everything i've read, rapid shot has no effect on any blu spells. even ones that use/used the ranged atk dmg formula. i really dont know much about range spells tho because all those spells suck lol.
Works on Elemental too - personal anecdata from SCH staff trials. I agree that it should at least work on magical BLU spells - anything that's elementally-typed.
As Raven said, Actinic Burst + Winds of Promyvion. The fact that the spells are so useful in their own right is just icing.
SMN gets the second tier at 90. So, maybe by 99? (Though, with Battery Charge, and some combination of Ballad III, Refresh II, or Evoker's, how much Refresh do we need?)
for DD not much, but Occult can be quite taxing. Don't need auto-refresh II, but would be welcome if the point count vs. useful spell ratio is fair.
Snmn does get it, learn something new everyday. They will still have have kittins if we got it not to mention plds and drks are still pissed they don't have T1.
Well, it's the "option" more than actually needing refresh. Also, aren't those 2 spells for refresh expensive blue-point wise?
The vast majority of the lower tier traits are only worth 4-5 blue points, refresh to first get it is like 12pts? I'm throwing numbers out be comparatively this is unbalanced considering a 1mp/tic isn't going to refill you all that fast and second we're talking LEVEL 99.
Most jobs traits have tier 3-6 at this point, while blue as stuck with tier 1's that DON'T stack, and tier 2's if only a certain sub job used. Don't forget that the more spells thrown into getting a tier 2 means less spells for other traits due to blue point cap. This would become a "players choice" on what they think is important to their style of play.
1~2 exclusive BLU traits would be a welcome idea as oppose to getting other job's traits. I'm sure some people already have some good ideas on this.
if BLU gets access to triple attack they could at least give THF Triple Attack II (10%) At level 90+ or something >_>
But Triple attack is the only one i could think of... BLU specific JT would be nice
ya a specific, or just higher Tiers of traits, namely fastcast, dualweild, double attack, and auto refresh is what I would want lol. Boring yes, but honestly BLU has so much in terms of traits, its really hard to name off exactly what we would want at this point .
inb4 merit Trait that makes all set traits more potent at 99
ya like something like
"Beast Synchronization"
a merit that adds into you're traits that "enhances all equipped traits" which would really be bumps all equipped traits +1 (2 would be fantastic, but I'm not holding my breath for that) tier of the trait. So Dualwield 1 + Merit Trait = Dual Wield 2 (maximum merits of course)
I think that is a great idea
gimme widescan, and not the gimped level 1 widescan that only reads 3 yalms around you... I want a true widescan that reads up to 2 grids around the player (comparable with a lvl 50 BST)
I'd like SE to give us traits of the proper potency. That Fast Cast and, now, Double Attack business is really silly. It makes me wonder what other traits we have that are set lower then the traits other jobs get...
The Fast Cast trait error should be fixed next update according to Nightfyre (it already is on the test server iirc), Isador is still 5% Fast Cast from what he said as well. Double attack was a case of no one even thinking it would be lower than War's.
I see absolutely no reason why our DA should be lower than WAR's myself. :\
Yep, slap in the face tbh, makes absolutely no sense.
Ya I just wish more BLU's would rage about this, many are more concerned about the spells and their damage/mpcost/recast/accuracy, then the gimping of our DA Trait in comparison to a WAR, even though we give up valuable Blue Magic Points to earn it, and in the end get the shaft for our sacrifice.
Fencer would make a good counterpoint to Dual Wield. As a person who quit Red Mage to play Blue Mage when it came out because, unlike Red Mage, Blue Mage actually succeeds at being a frontline caster (without giving up so much to do so,) it would make my long-neglected inner (melee) Red Mage very, very happy.
(Okay look, I know Red Mage melee does not work so well. I also know it SHOULD where it doesn't. Blue Mage DOES where Red mage SHOULD.)
Instead of the black magic-only Occult Acumen, I want Arcane Acumen. Go ahead and guess what that would do. (Hint: It's Occult Acumen for Blue Magic.)
Treasure Hunter.
Wide Scan. Even just one tier of it would be nice.
We have Auto-Refresh and Auto-Regen... what about Auto-Regain? How's that for giving the SAMs and DNCs a kick in the pants?
Higher tiers of everything for which higher tiers exist. Attack/Defense/Accuracy/Evasion Bonus II and III and maybe even IV but I doubt that would ever happen. It can work the same as Clear Mind or Dual Wield -- more relevant spell pairs equals higher tiers.
Triple Attack. . . . . . . What? We already have Double Attack, so why not?
Conserve TP. We already have Conserve MP, so...
More Killer effects. We don't have all of them yet, I think.
Some sort of new, unique-to-Blue-Mage trait would be cool.
Auto-Reraise. That's a trait Aern have, right? (Right, like THAT'S ever going to happen.) <<< I could see this requiring every 'crappy' spell slotted to get. And only having a (small) chance of proccing.
Did they actually say that WAR's is higher? I know what the general consensus on WAR's DA proc rate is, but I want to know if an SE employee actually out-and-out said that BLU's is lower than WAR's. If they didn't then it's possible WAR's and BLU's DA rates ARE the same.
I did some parsing on WAR's trait when this information came to light and it does appear that WAR's trait is higher. Why they nerfed ours is beyond me, but I can hope that it'll be un-nerfed later on.
Fencer would be a nice JT to have and I'd honestly be surprised if we didn't gain access to it. Some form of Acumen trait would be a godsend, especially when using weapons with aftermath effects. It can be difficult at times to generate enough TP to maintain aftermath while also casting any needed spells.
The question I still have is, was it actually nerfed, or was it always lower? Actually, going to see if I have any old parse data on BLU...
EDIT: looks like I have nothing relevant after all ><
Why would Fencer be good if you have to forfeit Dual-Wield to use it?
