Request: New ways to get Targeting The Captain pup attachments

What it says on the tin. It's really hard to get people to help with this fight, and the attachments themselves are so rare that they're unaffordable when you can find them on the AH (which is pretty much never).

A solo ISNM fight at level 90+ would be fine, just make them obtainable!

i have a big problem with the direction this game is going, i like most of what is being done. However, it pains me to see that empyrean are so easy to get almost anyone can. Now i get the idea that SE wants more people to get the drops or whatever and thats cool, but this bcnm is 3 manable at 90 and was almost 3-4 manable at 75. Honestly, and i know what you mean about getting help, but if you cant get two people to help you then you shouldnt have access to the drops. I've shouted half of everything i've accomplished or gotten, yes it boring and takes time but i get it done. And what was so hard about getting tarut cards?? It took me awhile to get sleepga2 from the quest, buy i did it. And it wasnt the end of the world. I got my cards in the span of a day or two, now with the repeatable process for cards sleepga2 is given away. i LIKE the challenge occasionally, PLEASE STOP THE HANDOUTS SE. How can anyone feel really good about getting something thats easy/given and everyone has? Granted everyone had sleppga2, but when i first got it i felt like i did something to accomplish it. I dont have a linkshell that does events and quests, i get out there and meet people. I need this bcnm too. I just helped a friend get access to it, so that we can spam it eventually. Making items/drops more available to people does cater to the average player but what about people like me who have 7 mules and two accounts? When these people who SE caters to play for a few months and go back to whatever the next phase of gaming for them is, ill still be here. Or will I have left because the game is no longer challenging. At some point, even the gear i worked hard to get is no longer going to be a reason for me to stay around. Where has the challenge gone that keeps me coming back? And please, dont say the 3 king change is challenging, it only challenges my ks count (which rarely increases these days unless i skill up outside abyssea, and lets face it im not pulling in alot anyway) and my patience at the 5-10%hq pop drop off the nq after spending all day in a ksnm to get the nq pop, sorry i dont have millions of gil to just buy pops. If i implemenbted the seal exchange i would have done 2-1 ratio and it would be like the coin exchange in whitegate, where hkc give two kc give two ks give two bs. Lets face it, it makes sense because 1) players are getting the hkc and kc more than anything else and 2) you need a higher level mob to drop the higher seals so why not make them worth more in exchanged ratio. Just a thought, and if you can change mog bonanza so that people can trade a say a rank three prize for two rank 4 prizes would have been great I could have gotten a sea torque which I cant get two people to do with me like a bcnm. Yes, i know JOL is 6 manable, but please thats many pops/nm just to get there is hard one a non-linkshell guy like myself, but im not asking for the torques to show up in exchange for organs or something ill either win it, somehow build up a sea static, or get a linkshell that does it. And about the attachments, we should be able to talk someone into the fight because the drops are so expensive you can build a static where you sell the drops and split the money, do it a few times and you can keep a drop or have enough money to buy it.

I've been trying to get ppl together to do a targeting the capt run, a fire in the hole run, and assaults to get to captain rank now for several months. Everyday I go and attempt to solo Fire in the hole, and fail, and then spend 3 hours shouting but no one ever offers to help. I ask my linkshell and I get nothing. My friends are either busy or not able to do it. I only need 1 person to beat Fire in the hole and yet I can't find 1 person. Now you start yelling about how you hate handouts to ppl and how you earned everything you have and that anyone who asks for it to be a little bit more fruitful is just weak and should quit the game? GO TO HELL!!!!!!! Thats how I feel about ppl like you, actually I have stronger language than that for ppl like you but honestly your not worth it. Some of this old content is just a little to hard for its audience, and especially the items that were once endgame and are now just nice things. Hell even some endgame pieces like WOTG story finish items are just not getting many takers. Now I've accomplished many things in this game, top of the list being PW defeated, but sometimes ppl that you know don't have time or desire to help out with mundane things like getting you useful pup items, or finishing mission quests. I agree with OP we should have some more managable ways to obtain these items or do these quest more effectively solo or better yet give them more rewards that players actually want.

If SE wants to make a solo battlefield that's as hard as the RDM Maat fight used to be, I'm cool with that. I'm not asking to be just given these attachments. But the current fight 1) can't even be entered unless everyone helping has completed all of the several prerequisite quests, which includes having a certain amount of mission completion in ToAU, 2) offers NOTHING for anyone other than a puppetmaster, other than some outdated gear and some crafting items that can be more easily obtained pretty much anywhere else, and 3) can't be soloed. At least so far. Something needs to be fixed, even if it's just allowing people to help if they haven't finished the pre-reqs, as long as someone in the party has.

Make them drop 3 kings pop items, lol.

It can't be soloed because you NEED 3 people to even enter the fight. I agree that it's about time to move these attachments elsewhere and actually allow PUPs to get them. And no, not the ENM that already drops plenty of attachments.
Something challenging that can be done multiple times and possibly by yourself.

Indeed, the exorbitant costs of attachments are evidence of the mandate for this initiative.

Yeah, attachments are necessary to the basic functionality of a PUP's pets. Having so many be so expensive and unattainable makes a job that already has "loljob" status even more difficult to try out and play.

I think all of the ToAU content needs to be reworked so that these things are more attainable - same goes for items like the roundel earring - I am not asking for the battles to be made easier - but when it comes to stuff where you need to get the whole server to do an outdated event to even do the battle - THAT'S BROKEN.

again, if the attachemnts are so expensive, then why cant you offer to sell the attachemnt if it drops and split the money. If you go with 3 people, and over the next few weeks it drops three times, well on the third drop you can pay off the other two with your share of the gil you saved the other two times it droped. Whats so hard with that? Like I said i need this BCNM too. Theres other ways to make gil, i know you are frustrated, took me a long time to finish a pair of salvage feet since nobody does salvage but i did. You could try and pull up all pup on server and send all a tell with your propostion of splitting the drops and build yourself a little static. i just found 18 pup on my server, just now a random search. Most are rank 10 so i assume they have at least one level 90 job. the help is out there i just think you should reconder your shouts to be more attractive

I'm not agreeing with your point because there is a problem and this is the way to get something fair done to fix it, but you do have a point. Back in the good ole days when it could take you hours and sometimes days to get an xp pt invite, depending on your job, I used to put in my search comment , Impossible to gauge veteran, experience points can I have it, I'm made of candy. So many people would invite me just because of the "I'm made of candy," line it was awesome. So you do have a point, advertising things the right way can do wonders, but that is just ignoring the problem. Its not unreasonable to have older content scaled down a little to support its lack of interest. Hell they should really do this with alot of that old endgame content cuz most the stuff in there is just laughable compared to our newest gear. In the end theres no reason to preach the old theres nothing wrong with this old stuff, because there is. Its not as accessible as SE intended it to be because they never intended to carry out the lvl 99 status quo.
