Merits as limited currency

I, like many others, have run into the problem of capped merits and not being able to spend them -

But a simple fix for this would be to give things buyable for merits -
like Miratete's Memoirs for a merit (10,000 exp for a consumable 750-1000 exp usable on low level jobs thus negating some Key spots in abyssea - and it would require you had a 75 already)

Other cool things could be temp or non-tradable consumable items like megalixirs or phoenix downs (come on its like 9 years and you still can't raise other players with potions yet)

For the "far out there not likely to happen" would be nice if you could buy skill-ups with merits too

Just be nice to have a use for merits in a way that isn't harmful to the in-game economy

I like the idea of trading "merits" for Ex items like Miratete's Memoirs, EX Items, Etc...

Now, On the idea of Phoenix Downs, It should seriously be introduced. How hard would it be to make it already?

Yeah synthable should be great too.

I'm just tired of having capped merits, and 20/20, I'd like to be able to use them on something and consumables would give a way to always need merits - especially if you could buy exp pages for your level 20+ jobs with miratete's memoirs.

Of course the specific item I'd want would be a Spy's Drink usable anywhere :D .... hey I can dream.
