Lockup when changing macros

Started having a problem just in the past couple of weeks with the game freezing while changing macros, sometimes when moving to a new book, and sometimes when just selecting a palette in the current book. This is while using the UI menu to change. This is on PS/3 and the game just freezes up and the console needs to be restarted. Anyone else having this problem? Any possible solutions? This PS/3 had the out of space problem back in Dec and everything was reloaded from scratch at that time. However, this problem just started very recently. Thanks.
