GM Policy: Item Recovery regarding Relics/Mythics/Empryeans

I recently had troubles in having an empyrean weapon restored when it was lost. After contacting a GM, I was told it cannot be restored due to it posing complications with a quest. After finding out this information, I contacted another GM and an SGM contacted me telling me it could not be restored due to "some special properties bound to this item". Assuming this is an issue with it having a Trial Insignia, I'm here to argue against that reasoning.

With the Empyrean Weapons and all Trail of the Magian "Quests", you can have the Trail cancelled and the insignia removed from the weapon. Any future issues with these quests can be resolved using this method.

Secondly, Empyrean Weapons have been given to players via the Mog Bonanza. Surely, if there were any issue with restoring the weapons, it can be resolved in a similar fashion.

If it truly is the case that Relics, Mythics and Empryeans cannot be restored via item recovery, then this seriously needs looking into and changing. Afterall, what is the point in Item Recovery if the 3 sets of most prestigous weapons in the game cannot be restored?
