They did. There just isn't enough of it yet. Sroda Tathlum is the rework.
The original magic crit still needs to be redone though, it's just not going to happen.
I think the whole system needs a rework as well.
Use Sroda Tathlum as the new standard for Magic Crit rate & DMG.
Add a base magic crit rate, and ways to enhance it via dSTAT, magic crit rate gear, and maybe traits.
Add magic crit DMG gear and traits.
agreed there should be a natural crit chance for magic just as with physical attacks. All jobs should get some level of a trait that increases it, and the effect of a magic crit is pitifully low and should be higher.
