August Version Update

Good day, adventurers!
The recent stretch of sweltering days continues unabated, so how are you faring in this heat?

Now that we're in August, summer is just hitting its peak. I'm growing a potted morning glory on my balcony. However, the sun is so strong that the water tends to evaporate almost immediately, meaning that I need to keep a close eye on it to prevent it from drying out. Since I don't have a moogle around to water it for me, I need to remember to do so on a daily basis.

Now I'd like to cover the various updates and other initiatives we have coming your way this month.

■ Adjustments to Besieged
We're adding Level 12 (content level of 114) to the beastman cap.

The beastmen looking to take down Al Zahbi are about to get even tougher, which is going to make your fight against them that much harder. Once you've made the proper preparations, work with the Five Serpent Generals to repel the attack!

■ Adjustments to quests and in-game elements

We will be making the following adjustments in order to improve the content's playability.

• Remove obstacles (bushes) from Yorcia Weald
• Reduce the amount of time before the "???" reappears in the quest "The Siren's Tear"

We made these changes in response to the feedback we received on how to make the game better for individual play. We are dedicated to making additional adjustments based on people's concerns and/or game specifications that don't align with the current state of the game, so we welcome your continued feedback!

■ Suspension of new player creation on the Asura World server
As previously mentioned, we have implemented the following measures from Tuesday, July 29th.

• Suspended the ability to create new characters on the Asura World server
• Suspended the Character World Transfer Service for transferring characters to the Asura World server
• Suspended new uses of the Vana'diel Adventurer Recruitment Program for the Asura World server

While we closely monitor all of the game's Worlds, the Asura server has an exceptionally large and active player population, meaning that it would be difficult to provide a stable gameplay experience if its player numbers were to continue to rise. Therefore, we ask for your understanding as we implement these measures in order to prioritize a stable environment for the World's players.

Although these measures are designed to prevent new players from joining the World, we are also looking at ways to equalize the player populations between Worlds. We'll be sure to let you know once we have more details to share regarding the matter.

■ The return of Prishe's Boots!
The August login campaign combines the campaigns from May through July.

That means that this is your chance to get your hands on a ♪ Craklaw companion, Model Synergy Furnace II, and Prishe's Boots in case you missed them the last time around! The special event that lets you increase the quality of Prishe's Boots will also be making its return.

Also, the Impish Box is being added to the list of items that can be exchanged for 1,500 points, so I suggest you test your courage with a trip to Arrapago Reef this summer.


■ Reacquire items from past events!
All of you worked together to achieve 150% of the target goal for the recently held Vana'Bout - Special Round, meaning you can trade for the following items:

• Save the Queen II
• Stuffed Chocobo
• Chicken Knife II

I hope that you'll play seasonal events such as the Sunbreeze Festival and Green Festival in order to get your hands on these returning items!

Furthermore, you'll be able to exchange for these items starting with the August version update. Please note the different starting times for the Sunbreeze Festival and Green Festival.


■ Return of the FFXIV collaboration event and other events (from August onward)

In celebration of the second installment of Echoes of Vana'diel (San d'Oria: The Second Walk) being added to FINAL FANTASY XIV as part of Patch 7.3, FFXI will also be bringing back the following three events.

• Return of the "FINAL FANTASY XIV collaboration event"
• Return of "Day of the Shadow Lord"
• Return of "Jeuno, Back in the Spotlight Yet Again"

Given that there are many players who will likely be playing these events for the first time, we plan to either extend the event period or offer them in multiple installments so as many people as possible can enjoy them.

Additionally, in an effort to make these events more enjoyable for those of you who played them the first time around, we're also planning to allow you to trade for some items that were available in past events.

We'll be sure to give you an update through the usual channels once we have more information to share.
